I like that you made a channel about Dutch things. But I have to get this off my chest, your pronunciation of Dutch words is horrible. I advise you to work on that. By the wake "the poldermodel" has absolutely nothing to do with work-life balance. It's all about of consensus decision-making.
Hmmm, sorry but those aren't pannenkoeken. Don't know what those are, but they're not Dutch. Also: the polder model is not what you say it means... It has nothing to do with work hours. Just telling you like it is ;-)
The part of being on time depends on the part of the country. In north Brabant people accept 15 minutes late for social stuff but just a bit early for other appointments.
What a pleasant way to picture all the highlights of ( mostly) Amsterdam, and very often the red light district. 18 million people don’t fit there , but I do like it for most people are young and and mass the overcrowded streets in their parade having a good time. You’re certainly in love with the Dutch in Springtime! A rosy picture for sure..
Being Dutch myself (born in Haarlem, raised in Zwanenburg, living in Amsterdam) I love lists like this, even I am learning stuff about how wierd we are to others... btw, raw herring is the best! (ps. if you ever are trying "Drop" don't start with DZ-drop... I like it, but it is double salted, so be prepared for a kick of salt)
1. Haring is not raw. It's "cooked" in salt, hence "salted herring" is a better description. Ever had sushi or ceviche? The first small barrel of new herring is sold at auction and was sold for 81,000 euro in 2024. Every year 25,000 tons of herring is processed. 2. Consensus is the name of the game. We have over 30 political parties and no single party can rule. There are always coalitions. Give and take. 3. No coffee or tea breaks away from the company on workdays. 4. Yes, "it's only 4 o'clock twice a day". 5. Sweet for breakfast, something salty for lunch. 6. The Netherlands produce 32,000 tons of licorice. 7. Brown cafes are an institution. People have their favorite place to meet with friends.
Your film is back to front and the pronunciation is dreadful. If you are going to refer to Dutch words at least make the effort to try and pronounce them correctly. 😡
I agree.. The funny one I saw was Zwarte Piyet, and then Black Pete (Piet is pronounced as Pete..) Though it's not "black" Pete anymore since a few years..

Snow, has become relatively rare over the last decade. These videos must be very old.
Why is the film a mirror image? Many texts are reverse!
4:35 its a delicacy in holland, not in the whole of the netherlands
You have seen the mirrir of The Netherlands!
An other channel tha only covers big city Randstad with facts found on wikipedia.

I have never heard so many untruths about the Netherlands as in this video! This seems to me just an attempt to score cheap Clicks...

This video sucks! I don't know how you got your information, but maybe 10% is correct. And your pronunciation is really bad! 😂
