Once you had whim of volrath and enough mana, you can infinitely make copies of sapphire medallion, and your islands. Realistically you could have won pretty much at instant speed once you had the Aetherflux out.
Yeah at 10:50 you had the game the moment hullbreaker horror resolved. Whim on medallion, bounce Liesa Shroud of Dusk thanks to Hullbreaker, then Whim on Islands till finite absurd number while boardwipe bouncing every non land permanents thanks to hullbreaker and being able to bounce any interaction spell by saving 1 or 2 islands spare. Next turn, make infinite copies of any creature, hold control of boardstate and stack (hullbreaker/whim) another turn for summoning sickness on the infinite copies, and swing. Was not even a need for Reservoir. It was your first game with Orvar so no worries. I'm just sad we never got to see Andrew this lucky when he piloted his Orvar >:-]]
With Whim of Volrath in hand, and Sapphire Medallion and Aetherflux out, Adam could have made an additional copy of the medallion and started making copies of their basics with WoV, gaining life in the process and Deathstar'ing people for the win but I liked and respect the way they ended the game instead of that. I am sorry that Satoru didn't get to cheat in a lot of creatures, it just wants a hand filled with heavy hitters and that's not always the case.
You're nice! If anything I would just walk away and find a new game Or buy him sleeves and tell him to sleeve it up before the next game. yes I've walked away from games before because a person was playing with on sleeved cards.

As an Orvar player, you cannot ignore Orvar. However, you can do fun things like Imprisoned in the moon to slow Orvar down if they don't have the mana to bounce/copy Orvar.
I just got myself a Licia in a trade yesterday since I was looking at a life gain/manipulation deck as well. Bit of a shame that I am also building a Kaalia deck though. But at least i can use the same mana base and share some of the utility/removal spells!
Mark Tedin's signature isn't exactly hard to get, and there are at least half a million Revised Sol Rings in the world - it's not exactly one-of-a-kind.

No you're right, this was a mistake on my part being unfamiliar with Cemetery Illuminator (see pinned comment). It didn't have a noticeable impact on the game it seems, thankfully.
What happens if u copy the sludge until end of turn, attack and put a counter on the original sludge, and on a later turn make the sludge lose it's creature type? 😅 wouldn't it keep changing between forms indefinately?
Even if Sludge Monster loses the ability, its effect will keep applying because it was already in effect before. It will stay as a 2/2 with no abilities until it leaves the battlefield or regains the horror type.
Once the sludge monster is removed the creature still has a sludge counter, but the relevant ability (Non-horror creatures with sludge counters lose all abilities etc.) no longer exists.
First if Scott's goal is to trigger people it works but I would probably single him out with him having unsleeved cards. Second ya always have to kill ovar first. Every time I've seen the deck in action it's op.
Orvar is super gross once it gets going. It's a very powerful commander. Adam could have won a bit earlier, as others pointed out. Also, since I saw Gigadrowse played: Its replicated copies don't trigger orvar, since they're not cast. Adam didn't make that mistake, but I know people still sometimes make that mistake when brewing.
I'm aware of that line, a self-imposed restriction on the deck is not to win through infinites, otherwise I'd be running things like Coveted Jewel as well. It's about copying value creatures and beating face.

gave a like because the channel is great but this game was a pain to watch... 1 unsleeved deck, ouch, and that Ovar deck is one of the worse thing (for me gameplay wise) that blue as to offer .... really loved the cat token passing by :)

Hadn't Andrew's commander been sludged? Which means no Ninjitsu granting.
It's only sludged as long as the Sludge Monster is on the battlefield. It was removed.
@@krotash7740 Ahhh. Right right right. The slime counter doesn't give the new "ability". Sludge daddy's ability modifies what the slime does.
