That is academic conjecture, simply put the academic's best guess or interpretation of some what are known as 'dark passages' in the Quran. They might be wrong and they might be right, they may be even half-right. As for apologetics, there is more evidence for the life of Muhammad than there is for Jesus - no contemporaneous accounts of Jesus. Lovely going on the offensive, but be careful because when the tables are turned, and christianity is examined using the same forensic microscope you can dismantle the whole thing in an afternoon.

That's the Arabic transliteration of the name for Jesus in Aramaic, which is Yashu', or Yeshua. The original Arabic name for Jesus is عيسى (Isa). It seems that Christian Arabic word for Jesus Yasu' is from West Syriac, while Quranic Arabic word Isa is from East Syriac Iso.

Similarly, He appears as a human on Earth to interact with humans. The physical appearance he takes as an angel or a human is called the Son. When he appears as an angel in the heavens, he is called "Son of God". When he appears as a human on Earth, he is called "Son of Man". When he appeared for human salvation as the Son of Man, he is called "Yahoshua" in Hebrew aka Jesus in English. Yahoshua meaning "Yahweh our saviour" or "Yahweh our salvation" or "Yahweh saves". Basically, the name of the God of the Bible is Yahweh. He himself is the one who appeared as Jesus. Based on the body in which he appears, he will have a personality since the body has limitations. This is the reason Jesus Christ said things like that he did not know the hour of his second coming for he was speaking as a man. In other words, Jesus Christ is definitely a human. However, that person who appeared as the human Jesus Christ is our God Yahweh appearing as a human for human salvation. In short, the Father's visible appearance limited for creation to see is called the Son. If the Father appears visible the way he is, nothing can exist. So, he chooses to appear in ways creation can see. Angels can see him in the heavens when he appears as an angel. Humans can when he appears as a human. So, it is the Father himself who appears as an elohim (angel) in heaven. He is called "Son of God". When the Son of God comes to Earth as a man, the "Son of God" is called "Son of Man". You can see Jesus Christ referring to himself in both titles. Now, the one who appears as the Son is the Father himself in physical form, angelic or human. When He does that in Spirit, he is Holy Spirit. In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God. Muslims ask "How can God be with God"? When God appears as a man, that particular man that God has appeared as, is with other humans and also with God who is omnipresent. Therefore, we can say God ( appearing as a man) with God (who is everywhere). The best example is Jesus Christ and also we have a great example in the old testament. Yahweh appearing to Abraham as a human in Genesis 18. Some thoughts: How large a population could the *Zum zum well in Mecca support? What is the minimum number of people which could maintain a civilised way of life? The reason why you can't see it is because you are trapped in a state of neurotic religiousity born out of indoctrinated fear. Let go of your indoctrinated fear and you will see the facts. Without the Biblical context it claims to come in line with, this book is simply no where near a final unambiguous revelation for all mankind. Without interpretation it is about as clear as mud.

That's the Arabic transliteration of the name for Jesus in Aramaic, which is Yashu', or Yeshua. The original Arabic name for Jesus is عيسى (Isa). It seems that Christian Arabic word for Jesus Yasu' is from West Syriac, while Quranic Arabic word Isa is from East Syriac Iso.

As it is all written in German and not accessable to the English speaking world we should get some more ppl digging into these publications. Anybody on that track yet? To answer your question on Jesus, it's simple.
God who is Father appears in two dimensions (spiritual and physical).
In the spiritual dimension, he appears as the Holy Spirit to interact with the spirits he created while he remains as Father within whom creation itself exists. Since the Spirit has a form, the Spirit has its own characteristics and hence the Spirit has its own personality.
Similarly, when the Father appears in the physical dimension, there is the heavenly and the earthly.
In heaven, among angels, he appears as an angel in heaven to interact with his heavenly creation.
Similarly, He appears as a human on Earth to interact with humans.
The physical appearance he takes as an angel or a human is called the Son. When he appears as an angel in the heavens, he is called "Son of God".
When he appears as a human on Earth, he is called "Son of Man".
When he appeared for human salvation as the Son of Man, he is called "Yahoshua" in Hebrew aka Jesus in English.
Yahoshua meaning "Yahweh our saviour" or "Yahweh our salvation" or "Yahweh saves".
Basically, the name of the God of the Bible is Yahweh. He himself is the one who appeared as Jesus.
Based on the body in which he appears, he will have a personality since the body has limitations.
This is the reason Jesus Christ said things like that he did not know the hour of his second coming for he was speaking as a man.
In other words, Jesus Christ is definitely a human. However, that person who appeared as the human Jesus Christ is our God Yahweh appearing as a human for human salvation.
In short, the Father's visible appearance limited for creation to see is called the Son.
If the Father appears visible the way he is, nothing can exist. So, he chooses to appear in ways creation can see.
Angels can see him in the heavens when he appears as an angel. Humans can when he appears as a human.
So, it is the Father himself who appears as an elohim (angel) in heaven. He is called "Son of God". When the Son of God comes to Earth as a man, the "Son of God" is called "Son of Man". You can see Jesus Christ referring to himself in both titles. Now, the one who appears as the Son is the Father himself in physical form, angelic or human. When He does that in Spirit, he is Holy Spirit.
In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God.
Muslims ask "How can God be with God"?
When God appears as a man, that particular man that God has appeared as, is with other humans and also with God who is omnipresent. Therefore, we can say God ( appearing as a man) with God (who is everywhere).
The best example is Jesus Christ and also we have a great example in the old testament.
Yahweh appearing to Abraham as a human in Genesis 18.
That human that God had appeared as, was standing with other humans like Abraham and Sarah who together were standing in the presence of God (Father who is everywhere).
There is lots to tell. It's all in the scriptures. Unfortunately, Muslims don't know the Bible and Muhammad could not read what was written in the Bible.

Some thoughts:
How large a population could the *Zum zum well in Mecca support?
What is the minimum number of people which could maintain a civilised way of life?
For example, the International Space Station is very remote, has very little water, maintains a population of around six people, but remains civilised: indeed, it is an outpost of a civilization.
Likewise, could ancient 'Mecca', though itself not a civilization, be considered some such outpost of an actual civilization, perhaps belonging to the Southern Hijaz or Yemen? Stone Henge in England was also an important religious site, but it was not even occupied most of the year.
So the water=civilization argument may not be such a water tight argument, after all.
There might be a pagan sanctury but the Quran claims it was the mother of cities, the center of all trade. That can't be then a small village or it is just not true. Petra was the center of all trade in the region, from west , south, north and east traders came.
Refer to Sneakers Corner. He says the Zam Zam well produces 1,280 litres per day therefore providing between 1000-1300 persons per day without animals. Plus the earlier water was brackish.

I have to go on what my students who live there are telling me. This style of lecturing works best for believing Christians, such as the student preachers Dr Smith seems to be addressing in a church building. It would not be so effective for a Muslim audience.
