I always wonder the same thing when spot one of these square body trucks in nice shape in the junkyard. By the way, I'll keep an eye out for that grill and turn signal lens you're looking for. I go to quite a bit of junkyards but mopars are much harder to come by in the yards around here.
Me. When I was stripping the frame I saw a rust hole in it, and other obstacles that I hadn’t counted on forced me to take out a Craigslist ad and get rid of everything. Then I went out and bought a new Tacoma. Sometimes a guy has to know how to choose his battles and admit when he’s been defeated
It's not surprising. It probably sat for a long time, maybe the owner died. No one wanted to put time and money into getting it fixed up, so they scrapped it. It wasn't even worth the hassle of putting on eBay or Craigslist.
Lawrence Hall Chevrolet is located at 2120 Commercial Ave in Anson, TX and is still in business. They are a Buick-Chevrolet-GMC dealer. The "K" for the 8th digit makes this a 350 "L05" RPO with TBI and to answer the other's questions, yes, 1987 is the first year for TBI. This is the "R and V Series" trucks that were "holdovers" between the 1986 and older C,K and the new to be released in 1988 C,K trucks. The R,V series went until 1991. They are sharp and solid trucks. Yes, the "H" for the 10th digit makes it a 1987 model. I believe I saw an "S" on the 11th digit, that should be St. Louis, MO assembly.
@@ClassicRideSociety that's great news ......hate to see a beautiful truck with alot of potential rot in a salvage yard.......thank you for the intel .....appreciate it .
That's the last year for the body style and the first year for throttle body injection that TRUCK is worth THE MOST BECAUSE ITS A SHORT BED AND 1987 IS THE LAST YEAR ITS NOT A C10 THEY WERE TITLED R10
I will never sale my 86 squrebody manual short box they will have to pry the keys from my cold dead fingers hell will freeze over and I will iceskate with the devil before I will ever let my baby go
Bet you pickup cans along the road.
You'd lose that bet. There ain't any 💰 in that.

Who in their right mind or left mind for that matter sends a square body to the scrap yard? Heathens!

Why is it that people insist on painting chrome bumpers and grills, then the paint flakes off and you have this mess.
And aluminum rims.
If I remember right 87 was the first year for fuel injection in the pickups. (Tbi)
Junk paid couple 100 bet they going to sell it for at least 5k
I have to give my 87 square a Fonzie thump to pop the hood. I just got tired of lube and adjust and has been that way for 27yrs.
Why did that slip my mind.

That Junkyard in Kennedale is 10 min away from my house , can’t believe someone would do that to a truck like that
Yep, that's apache.
What a shame and lack of respect .....to leave behind a beautiful square body 1987 Chevrolet pickup in a junk yard to rot and die.......
I heard it was most likely sold. Wasn't there this past week

@@derrekmitchell3559 did you ask them about it? Sometimes they put them in the back where they can't be seen
you hafta pound on the hood right by the latch and it'll pop up.
I 've done that a million times. I don't know why it slipped my mind
