Not sure why I didn't do the VIN on this one, but here goes: C for Chevrolet, C again for 2WD, L for 350 V8 4 barrel, 4 for 1/2 ton truck with HD suspension set up (aka Big 10), 4 for pickup truck with bed, 8 for 1978 model year, S for St. Louis, MO assembly and the rest is the production sequence.
VIN breaks down as C for Chevrolet, C for 2WD conventional cab, 106" L for 350 V-8 (165HP) with 4 bbl, 4 for 1/2 ton (which is supported by the Big 10 decal, indicating it's a C-10), then 4 again for cab and pickup, "8" for 1978 model year, S for St. Louis, MO assembly and the rest is the production sequence.
Another great find bro👊
That grill looked nice, that is if all the mounting holes aren't broken out of it. Even the badge has nice colour.

Here in St. Louis that truck is considered to be a builder. I'm used to rust so bad you could replace the master cylinder without opening the hood.
It was made your city city too, the "S" in the VIN means it was made at the St. Louis, MO plant.
