Hi i was wondering my mom has a 7 almost 8 year old Papillon she got him at 6 years old and was neutered at around 3 years old we have had quite a bit of trouble with his coat getting quite a bit of knots she brushes him every other day though but i was wondering if a comb would be better and what comb would be best suited for this situation he has a really thick coat and i would consider it a little bit dense 🙈 i would love any pointers since i don't know this i have long hair Russian Toy's and i am quite used to them and grooming them which is way different

@@asdisosk1669 hello, 👋 what type of brush is your mom using now? If your moms Pap has a dense coat, I would use a slicker that has firm pins, this will assist in removing any loose hairs. But a papillion shouldn’t have overly thick hair, is it the fine hairs that are forming knots? The slicker I would try using is - melanienewman.com.au/products/universal-slickers
Or something similar. But I really need to know what hairs are becoming knotty. When using a comb on thick comb, I would use a comb where the pins are further apart, similar to this- melanienewman.com.au/products/large-black-comb
Please let me know how you go, if you would like to send photos of your mom’s dog, then I get a better idea of what equipment would be best suited, info@melanienewman.com.au
I hope this helps and happy holidays 🎄

Is the second comb what they describe as a greyhound comb? I'm from the United States of America. I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I try to brush her coat daily, brush her teeth, and file her nails. She gets a bath once a month which takes a considerable bit of time especially drying her coat. Occasionally, I take her to a groomer for a thorough "fumigation". I've watched your TH-cam videos on both brushing and bathing a corgi. The grooming products that you use I can't find in the USA.

Hi Beverly, thank you for your question. No the second comb is not a greyhound comb. I would recommend the first comb for your corgi. Our products are available at www.melnewman.com
Please let me know if you need any more help💗 by the way, we love Corgis😍😍😍

@@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentials Thank you for the website. I'll check it out. I've done a lot of research on grooming a Pembroke Welsh Corgi Several years ago, I had a Sheltie and I groomed her along with a Chinese Crested, hairless. My Chinese Crested hairless was poorly bred. Both were the love of my life. My Pembroke Welsh Corgi is named Gucci Gooch in my maiden name and it is an old Welsh name. All my dogs are clicker trained. Gucci is as smart as a whip and very energetic. Again, thanks for the link.
