the problem that i've noticed with this rule change is that it pushes normal people out of ever having a chance. People have jobs and lives, most people can only take 1 maybe 2 vacations a year, and if they decide to use those days to go to a regional and place, say top 10, they could have had a chance to go to worlds if they grind the cups and challenges. now these regular people have to directly compete with content creators like wolfie glick and thats absolutely infeasible. you cannot expect a normal person to attend more than 1 high level tournament, but for content creators, they can attend EVERY tournament, get funded for such activities, and practically get a free invite to world's. TPC has pushed the regular player away with this decision and made a ground mostly for the people who have made it their job to play the game. World's should have the best of the best, but really, 75 from north america? take top 10 from each regional, top 25 from internationals, that gives like 50 reps from regionals, 25 reps from international from the NA region, and allow the next 25-125 players get invites based on their championship points excluding the players already invited. 200 reps from each region sounds like a lot, but a regional can pull 500+, international pulls 1500+. world's can be top 1000 players from the world, easily.

Yeah a lot of really good players I know that have invites this year have said they won't be trying for an invite next year. Like that sucks because they worked so hard and spent a lot of money to get this invite and they can't even imagine what it would cost to get next years.

Someone from the Middle East or South Africa should go and win a regional or international just to mess with the system and deny everyone else of those points, unless they're explicitly banned from participating.

Nah they can do that for sure and I would love that for them. They did say people from East Asian countries like Japan and South Korea can not earn invites from winning these events any more which sucks to.

This is one heck of a business model, it's no wonder why they don't even finish their game's development anymore before they release it. All they need is the battle mechanics, heck I won't even be surprized if gen 10 would just be smogon.

    • @PoposVGC
      @PoposVGC  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Honestly I'd be chill with a Showdown battle sim. No more grinding for mats would be sweet as heck. But been saying the same thing for years. If I didn't play competitive I likely wouldn't even buy the games.

@@PoposVGC the fact that it's 2024 and I'm still biking around for hours to build my team is ridiculous. Playing on cart is a bad joke.

@@DarkAuraLord Like I do like playing on cart but when I need a move and the game is like "Destroy the population of Grimers to get this move " I get so annoyed. Then getting Fresh Start Mochi. And don't get me started on pre-DLC Tera shards.

@@PoposVGC I like playing on cart, too. I'd like it even more if they didn't feel the need to arbitrarily waste my time for liking the game enough to want to build teams and hone my battle skills after I've completed the main content.
There is so much unnecessary tedium gating competitive team building and as a player, it feels terrible that your reward for being more invested in the game and wanting to engage more with it boils down to that.

A few notes: apologies if you cover some of this I'm typing as things come to mind.
    - excluding some areas from world's feels bad cuz world's is supposed to be "best in the world not best in most of the world"
    - Locals absolutely 100% did need to he nerfed. You have areas like ours with 20 TOs and you have areas that have no TOs. Locals did need a nerf but this wasn't the way to do it.
-bfls were 6 before and now are 4 (confirming since you said you think)
-the people who earn their invite through winning regionals and topping ICs are excluded from top 75 which will open some spots uo but not enough to be justifiable.
    - there are more GCs in thr upcoming season. It won't be as few as last time.
My thoughts: Worlds SHOULD be more exclusive. Not *this exclusive. Nerfing locals and/or making the bar higher would have solved the "too many people at worlds" problem. Which personally i didnt think was an issue. They do still have more to announce but im not hopeful. A lot of people like myself are quitting the game because the chase for worlds WAS what made the game fun. Working hard for that email is what we were chasing. Some people genuinely just like the chase. Before the chase was doable. Now mot only isnt worlds accessible, but the chase isnt accessible either. The only people who like this change are people who consistently earn their invite.

Then: "Raise your pokémon with love and care, and with enough determination, you can join us in the big leagues for a shot at the title of 'Champion'!"
Now: "What's that, "you can't afford to fly around the world"? Unlucky, peasant. Enjoy your locals!"

So if I’m from the Middle East I should forget about being the very best like no one ever was. I love how Japan doesn’t give a crap about the outer world. I’m sure all these changes are to cater for the Japanese players. They don’t want the number of non Japanese players to outnumber the Japanese ones. At the end of the day, it’s their company, it’s their country, they can do whatever they want to do.
