Capri, the Ford Mustang England.
@LF X and @Brian M, actually, you BOTH are correct, and yet you both are not correct...let me explain. The person that designed the First Generation Ford/Mercury Capri, as well as the First Generation Ford Cortina/Ford P 100/Ford Taunus, and the Ford Pinto/Mercury Bobcat, was named Philip T. Clark and not only was he ironically from the USA, but that he was also one of the four designers of, if not THE lead designer for, the First Generation Ford Mustang/Mercury Cougar. However, despite looking similar to the Ford Maverick/Sixth Generation Mercury Comet, the First Generation Ford/Mercury Capri, as well as the First Generation Ford Cortina/Ford P 100/Ford Taunus, and the Ford Pinto/Mercury Bobcat, all were built upon the same chassis, but the Ford Maverick/Sixth Generation Mercury Comet were built upon the same chassis as the First Generation Ford Mustang/Mercury Cougar, as well as the Ford (Americas) Falcon, Ford (Australia/Oceania) XK Falcon, Ford (Australia/Oceania) XL Falcon, Ford (Australia/Oceania) Falcon Van, Mercury (Canada) Econoline, Ford (Americas) Falcon Station Bus, Ford (Americas) Econoline Station Bus, Ford (Canada) Frontenac, and the Ford (Americas) Falcon Ranchero. Still, despite these truths, they do share a lot of similarity in the terms of shared parts, plus all of them tend to be super cheap platforms to make restomods, as well as racers that can do tuner, drifter, track, drag, and rally racing...seriously. Also, who does not love a big angry V8 engine in a little car like this one, or an Opel/Opel GT by Buick, anyway? Finally, technically, you all DID get the Ford Mustang, but Ford could not use the name of that vehicle, especially in Germany, as two companies, namely, Krupp and Kreidler, would not give the rights to the word "Mustang" to Ford, as they had the rights to that name in those countries all the way until the year 1978, so if you see an older model Ford Mustang in any other part of the world, then it would be called the T-5.

My dad bought me a 1972 Capri in 1982 as my first car. It was a 2.0 liter with a Weber carb and 4 speed manual. It was a great car! wish I still had it today.

I reckon 90% of the viewers (including me) are missing their old Capris BUT I'm on my way to saving for another or at least on my way to getting a restoration under way I'm kind of "re-promising myself". Once you've had one of these it's hard to let go of the memories and the urge to get another :)
The Ford "Essex",or "Cologne", V6 engines wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, they were like a loud mother-in-law, lots of noise with no power.

pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
crime here, called emissions and smoke crime accoring to the new BABVVO law of Mrs Bärbock :-(//

Excellent cars. Unfortunately some stupid drivers. Static burnouts and hazing the inside tyre (get and LSD at least) really SUX.
Great video compilation on the legend that is the ford capri. I've noticed compared to your other videos of Ford's leaving various car meets, that us capri chaps are a bit more reserved in the way we leave a meet. As in not going OTT with burn outs etc compared with the escort lads. What happened to the drag car at the end any points or fine given?

I'm a fan of Mk1's and Mk3's but I must say there are still some great examples of Mk2's out there ..they were my least fave cos of the square headlamps but with age they look pretty good too now it's like time has been kind to Capris the styling is superb compared to anything you see today ..I do agree on the mark 1 being the best - That Hockey stick line is mwaah!
@@TheFusedplug I do like a mk2 as well but nowhere near as much as the mk1. They just look so raw and pure. When they start to refine them it seems to take the edge off them in my opinion.

Yet young people wonder why their insurance is so much higher. Peeling out with a road full of packed traffic and bicyclists, it makes perfect sense.
I had 6 of them and the most entertaining cars I've ever owned and cheap as chips to fix too. My first one was a 1979 T reg 1.6 GL auto in metallic gold with a black vinyl roof. I bought it for £100 shortly after I passed my test all those years ago. It had a blowing head gasket and a grinding starter motor but despite its ailments it never broke down! I put a new head on it and gave it a good service and i had a lot of fun with it. My last one was a 2.8i special in 2 tone blue which to be honest was a bit of a rust bucket. My only regret is not keeping one and storing it but at the time they were 2 a penny.

Cant believe l saw so many illegal number plates on the cars, no silver on black number plates allowed on cars registered after 1.1.73 l believe, please correct if wrong.
Rolling 40 years from date of first registration then they can register as a classic and switch to black and silver plate.
Not that it looks out of place though...unlike some modern plastic crap that has them on.
Just so you know. Every night we read our 4 year old a story in bed & then watch this video, he’s 4 and loves Ford Capri’s just like daddy. He falls asleep watching this most nights. Really sweet. And golden for us lol 🤪👌😴💤

Yep I first saw it in 2016 at Three Sisters Race Circuit and saw it again last year in Manchester. Knew it was a stunner but when I saw it in person I was gobsmacked.
