OK. In the battle, the human ships are portrayed as invulnerable, but somehow, Lt Powell is haunted by the loss of his comrades? What? Did they they all just commit suicide during the battle? And in what universe does a lieutenant command a battle fleet and then act as a planetary ambassador?
They deployed so fast that there was no time to train the crews on how to use the Head in space. Tragically, some were ejected into space through the sewer systems.
Poorly plotted and full of inconsistencies this could have been a good story. 112 ships against 5 human ships is not " a hundred to one". If they end their ftl flight behind the enemy flagship how would they see the crew? Why would there be any windows to see through? While I admire anyone who puts things on TH-cam this was a bit like one of the many people offering writing advice using poor grammar and spelling, or who haven't actually published anything.

how is it the hero of this story is crying about his losses? what losses? there was 5 human warships 112 enemy ships he wiped them out effectively without a single person hurt let alone killed when telling of the battle so what are you crying about? also how does a LT. only command a 5 ship fleet. at least a commander let alone ship capt. advanced to group commander?
He lost several crewmates, who he considered friends & family. Didn't you pay attention to the story?
@@labelledamedumanor4876 when did those people die? the aliens didn't attack earth or any worlds, he started the story begging for a seat at the table with his little speech he never gave. then i can live with him being on the R&D of designing ships but how does the 5 new ships built get into the hands of a LT. come on lady i know you can avoid military service if american but no LT. in any navy let alone a space one would let a LT. DO ANYTHING. never saw star trek?, stargate?, battlestar galactica? babylon 5? name 1 show or book or movie where any LT. outside of LT. barkley in a holodeck. so who died and where because it wasn't in any battle because they only had one and they lost no ship and took no damage while wiping out the aliens.

I've listened to several of these stories , and I HAVE to say THIS! While they are good, they ALL HAVE THE SAME PLOT ELEMENTS! same old same old same old same old!
My advice to whoever is writing these excellently written stories is this: Vary the plots. The heroes don't always have to die. The aliens don't always have to be belligerent mass murderers who invade earth. Please vary the story ideas, because the writer has talent.
AI will be able to churn these out , by the thousand.
I enjoy these types of stories BUT there seems to be bits and pieces of Star Trek or Star Wars etc woven into them.I read a story on here the other day when a picture of one of the characters was wearing what resembled a Empire Officers uniform from Starwars.
these stories need some serious editing to keep the story line the same throughout the whole thing. first a lowly lieutenant is in charge of a small fleet instead of at least a senior Captain or admiral. the five earth ships are impossible to hit, then suddenly he remembers all the dead crews who served with him, and continuing to attack the invading fleet after they surrendered? If they surrendered that would have meant they would not have gone anywhere but if the admiral of the invasion fleet and ordered them to retreat they would have tried to get out of the system.
Another story that looses it's consistency on the way, contradicting itself.
