43XMOS is the PERFECT sized carry gun for me here in RI. 0 issues ever. Grip texture with a holosun 507k and I'm good to go. Vedder holsters does a nice job keeping me nice and concealed too.
I just bought a Glock 34 Gen 5 and a Glock 44 as my first firearms. After looking at over 30 different pistols, and being totally confused by all the choices, I decided to go with the firearm that felt best in my hand. The 34 felt like it was made for me, it just felt right.
I can buy Glock mags at my local farm and ranch store. Glocks are not perfect, but Glocks and their clones have become so ubiquitous that they are a great pistol to use for the daily driver.

I picked one up a few months ago to shoot in production. My pro tip is that if you sign up for GSSF ($30), you get a coupon to buy a Glock at the LE price at Blue Label dealers and the G34 is the highest discounted gun if you go that way and so I got mine for $160 off ($550). I was comparing a variety of guns at the time and ended up with the G34 because while it might not be as good as a Shadow 2, X5 Legion, or the other popular guns in production, at $550 it's significantly cheaper and I sort of hold on to the "I'll just get good" mentality. But I'll buy a Shadow 2 eventually.
Good tip for anyone looking at Glocks, but if you aren't set on the Glock, then the P10F mentioned in the video is almost certainly the best bang for the buck. Can be had for $365 in the OR sku (or $300 if you dont want an optic or want to mill it).
That’s how I bought a G19. I shoot CZ’s in Production and borrowed a Glock for GSSF. Glocks are great. I wish they had metal mags so the grips were less blocky , but you can train for that.
I have the same thoughts of whether a Glock 34 would be the better option than a shadow 2. By the time you're done modifying the Glock, you'll be at shadow 2 pricing, which needs no mods. Or... You can buy a Canik that is priced amazing and has incredible performance out of the box. With all that being said, I'd go with the Glock if it were a duty style gun. Glock reliability is hard to beat.

The TAG Precision sights are fantastic! One note though, you mentioned how to replace broken light tubes. On the TAG sights, they are made for quick user replacement WITHOUT cutting, or burning, etc. These sights are made to make the replacement easy with a fibre-lock screw and an included wrench. Super quick, super easy. Great way to upgrade your old favorite!
Had the older gen 34 for years in IPSC ran flawless in countless matches. Eventually sold it and now have 2 of the newer Gen 5 34's. They just work, they aren't Ferrari's but they also don't require any special attention, don't care what you feed them, run no matter how badly you abuse them. If war broke out it is without a doubt the pistol I would choose for a side arm over anything else.
My G34 Gen 3 will be the only gun I can carry in case of war or civil unrest. Rifles/ shotguns would be too heavy to carry around for this aging senior.
I had the Handleit Edge grips, and I think the texture was pretty nice. I say had because they started pealing immediately on my PDP, due to some weird adhesion issues with the backstrap. They supposedly sent me a replacement as an apology for not testing whether the grips would stick to rubber, but the replacements never arrived (tracking number was generated). I'd honestly recommend silicon carbide if you are going to use the gun for competition and stippling if you are going to carry the gun.
In Germany as a marksman you have to choose wisely what pistol you want to buy because the number of pistols you can own is limited to three pistols or revolvers. So I thought about it for a long time and choose the G34 for my first pistol and until now only pistol. Not the baddest choice I guess. And, there is a german company called "Norlite" near where I live who produce a changing system that changes my G34 to a pistol carbine with a own barrel (Norlite USK) and according to German law, this system counts as a weapon and I don't lose any valuable space on my weapon card. The Norlite is also cool. 😬
When I visited friends in Germany a few years ago during “Schutzenfest” we went to their range; everyone used high end Olympic quality air rifles and pistols because the laws are so restrictive. Made me value our albeit threatened (American) freedoms all the more.
If you would have taken the G35 instead you could shoot 40S&W, 357 SIg and 9mm out of the same gun just with a barrel switch. And in 9mm you also need a G17 mag.
I own, shoot, and carry a Glock 34. All stock, no mods. I wear shirts with the tails out all the time, so I carry in a OWB holster. This is by far my favorite Glock. The only thing I don't care for is the slide cutout on top of the slide. Tends to collect dust and debris. A guy should clean his carry gun every so often anyway, so that's not an issue, really. I've had it for years and still love it. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
Your vids have almost convinced me to buy a Glock. I am generally a fan of Berettas, Walthers, and 1911A1s, but the times I have gotten a firearm based on your recommendations have always been good, I'm seriously thinking about a Glock. Honestly, I'll probably end up dipping my toe in the water by getting a PSA Dagger first.
Don't bother with the Dagger, get an LEO trade-in Glock from Aimsurplus or Kings Firearms Online. I'm a fellow metal frame guy and 1911s are my favorite, but I don't regret getting my cheap used G19 Gen 3.
I would say jump on it. I started into 1911s and Berettas. Then I got a Glock bc I wanted that universal gun everyone had for prepping reasons. Parts, mags, holsters ect. Well, then I realized I started liking and carrying my now Glocks more than more other pistols
I loved my Gen4 G34. Carried I’d as often as I did my Gen3 G19. Probably the only Glock I’ve owned and liked even more was my Gen3 G20. Because full power 10mm is just beautiful!
the gen 3 is the same as the gen 5 with the medium backstrap. so unless u need the large or the smaller gen 5 without the straps there is no grip advantage with the gen5.
Yes I just paid my blue label 34 off, picking it up tomorrow and turning into a tuned comp gun. If it’s 34 or 17l you can’t fuck with it when it comes to it beast a beast of all trades. Especially in the gen 5 series. Also for the people that could comment about the 17l making its way into the gen 5 series, I own the gen 3 version and have kitted it out and I love that weapon but I wanna do the same to a different glock on the comp (competition) series
Great video! My first pistol was the G17, and I love it for appendix conceal and open carry for duty. I bought the 17L slide, a little extra weight and the easiest sight alignment for consecutive shots. As a practical man, I think I'll always be a Glock fanboy and love the no BS look of them.
I took my g34 shooting, I was shooting an old Propane Cylinder, it was empty, don't worry. The g17 would not go through, the g34 would. This was before I swapped out to a ported barrel. I wouldnt be surprised if I've lost some velocity, but it was amazing the difference a half inch would make
❤🎉 Blessings to you Bruv all the way from Baltimore Maryland, I appreciate all of your reviews and I absolutely plan on starting with glock 34 gen 5 for home and carry and I do plan on sharing your channel.
Glocks, the Red Headed Freckled Step-child. Ugly but can take a beating. I have the G19, G17 and SF20 all Gen 3. You can throw them against a wall and they will still rock. Try that with your Staccato or Atlas. LOL! KEEP ON ROCKING!
Throws against the wall Breaks cheap plastic irons lol Glocks are good but I doubt I'll ever buy one They just don't do it for me and I think they're pricey for the features
@@TheDarksideFNothing You are correct about the plastic sights, they SUCK! That being said, if SHTF a Glock would be on my list. Either way KEEP ON ROCKING!
Although I'm sure it's insignificant, the fact that they ditched the top-sid slide port really kills the character of the Gen 5s. I also preferred the grooved frames so i guess it won't ever be an issue. If I recall correctly, something about idiot-proofing the design and getting dirt in it was the official reason for it's removal, but if you have trouble with a Glock getting dirty, the trouble isn't the Glock lol
I started shooting a Glock 23 in the 1980's when they were relatively new in the US. I love the G34 and the G35, and I have most of the other models as well. I'm not a race gun guy, I'm more interested in reliability for carry and home defense. I have other handguns in the collection but I shoot the Glocks the most, by far... and my natural point of aim is cemented in to the Glock grip angle so I'm not going to fight that at this point. Throw in the mag compatibility with the CMMG PCC's, and others... I'm happy to stay with Glock. Good review. Thank you.
Glock everyday and twice on Sunday. I edc the G19.5 and use the G34.5 for range, instruction, and local outlaw matches. Retired LEO and Glock has been my partner for 35 years. I can carry anything I want and I had Stacatto, Smith and Wesson 2.0, and a Walther PDP (ALL FINE GUNS) but I prefer my Glocks.
I have the DR920L from Shadow Systems and absolutely love it. It is literally just a G34 with SS name and look on it. Never malfunction once, even out of the box (which they recommend 200-250 rounds break-in period), except for malfunctions I induced intentionally to train. It's insanely flat shooting, easy to point, easy to handle, returns to zero really well. It's a bit longer to carry for duty/concealed but some people do it without an issue. as a 5'10" 160 lbs, there's no shot that I can conceal this thing lol. I still can't decide if the G34 sized would be my combat pistol, or would it be my G45 sized gun. They both have an X300U mounted on them.
Thank you for your review. I am a huge Sig P320 fan...but... I am also a huge Glock fan. It has been quite a while, but I am going back into my Glock phase. I had a G34, Gen 3 a lot of years ago and I couldn't shoot it very well so I sold it. Since then I have gotten quite a bit of training in both shooting and as a Glock Armor, so I want to try again. With the G34, Gen5 having MOS and the ability to mount an Optic I am excited to see what I can build. Again, thank you for the review.
My 34 is a Gen4 17 originally (and registered as such in Hawai’i), I have a Zev Orion slide on it and custom ultra rough stippling & undercut from my local gunsmith. I just sold my 1 MOA SRO to my friend, so I am going to get an RMR HD so it is a little bit more robust. I still shoot my M&P 9L (1.0 5”) & 2.0 9 (5” Tan) both with Apex triggers and CZ P-10F & P-10C better than any of my Glocks.
As a gen 3 34 owner it would be nice to have the grip panels and MOS system. I did have Millet sights put on it back in the day and the front sight was drilled for a second hole so it could be pinned so it would take some work to go fiber optic but still runs great after several thousand rounds.
Thank you for your valuable content. Really like your videos. You mentioned (4:11) that you prefer red fiber optic and don't know why you can't see the green one. The reason why is probably due to color blindess. You can try Ishihara test. If you aren't planning getting yourself a pilot license, it's still ok. You'll see. Good luck.
Gen 5 G29 is my first and only glock. I still prefer my smith 9mm for the grip feel but didn't trust their 10mm so I went for the g29 as a compact option... I like it but I just can't get used to the grip feel.
Funny, just got back from the range with my G34.5. Moved my Dawson Precision sights to it and added a Glock Performance Trigger. Going to a GSSF Match this weekend. Thinking about putting the Holosun Red Dot on it that screws directly to the slide without an optics plate.
I love my 34, I shoot it competitively and have changed the sights, put a Timney alpha in it and put some talon sandpaper grips on it, and it shoots like a brick but it’s awesome
Great tip on going to the larger back-strap as I have similar hands. I’m old my eyes aren’t good and am certainly not a marksman or competitive shooter. My Gen 5 G34 just received a Faxon Match barrel and I watched video after video on polishing stock trigger bars n arms etc and did so a couple days ago. Again I am old but not a super experienced pistol shooter and only practice at 10-11 yards at this point a couple times a month. First two shots were in the bullseye and was so excited I pulled my third shot a lil and 4th hit the bull. Not promoting the barrel change as my hero the Honest Outlaws recent video suggested not to do that right after I had just bought the sucker…but dang! Trigger control certainly improved a little as I did not go hog wild on polishing (yet) nor have I upgraded the trigger arm (on the way). I know there are better guns but I sure do like the way the G34 just feels in my hand. It points and shoots quicker imo than other pistols I have tried. I have had CZ P10C’s and P10F’s and honestly those guns were just better than me at the time. My two favorite guns are my G34 and my Walther PPQ Q5 Match. If I was forced to sell one I would keep the G34. In fact the Walther had sat for two years as a safe queen without being fired until this month. I owned one before an M1 with the Paddle mag release on the trigger guard. When my wife and I go on walks or bike rides I carry the G34 concealed. Mountain hikes I own a Gunfighters Inc chest holster for the PPQ…
I was pistol shopping at the time. I wasn't a Glock fan, but when I picked up the G34, Gen5, it went home with me. It was the first pistol I ever bought. Still is my favorite, along with my Canik TP9 FSX. Two of the best, IMHO. Great shooters, reliable and eat any 9mm you put through them.
I picked up a used but never shot gen 5 34 with a leupold red dot today and case with the extra grips . Love the feel compared to the 43x and the 44 gen 5 . Can’t wait until the nix check is finished maybe a week or so .
I have 2 34s. One is “luckily the Taran Copperhead with SRO and the other is a Gen4 POF upper, timney, and Taran GM magwell (which is more like the JW2 34). I’m still trying to get the Black combat master upper but no luck. To answer your question I would absolutely get a GEN five because I carry a 19 X with a radian ram jet and it is aside for my shadow too and the copperhead my favorite pistol. I tried the P for a little while and just didn’t fall in love with it and I constantly find myself circling back to Glock…(and CZ). Maybe one day Taran will come out with G5 slides and then I’m all the way in
I have the same Gen 5 model 34. Been working on it a little: double undercut the trigger guard, Ameriglo suppressor height sights, Talon grips, and the Glock Performance Trigger (lightly polished). I want to put in the Johnny Glocks Vex trigger shoe next and see how that is. Glocks are fun if you like to tinker, but I do agree that there's a lot more options out there for pistols than there used to be. Oh, and does anyone else not like the way their trigger finger drags a bit on the small trigger guard of a Glock? Does it make a difference? I'm not sure (I'm not a competitive pistol shooter).
My most recent gun purchase was a G34. I have a few Glocks but this is now my going to the city EDC. I think I'll upgrade the mounting plate based on your advice.
I do own a Glock 34. I’ve had it since they first came out with the G5. Mine does not have the front slide serrations it is the MOS run. Dawson precision sites in just a trigger connector. It is an incredible gun. I do love it but with guns like the P 10 F out there it just doesn’t make sense to spend that kind of money on it.
I'd love to see you do a comparision of one of your Glock 34's vs the Shadow Systems DR920L. Very curious to see how comparable they are. You've single handedly turned me into a fan of the 34, now I think it's pretty much the coolest Glock/Shadow Systems gun.
I met the TAG Precision sights guys at SHOT, the fiber optic sights are genuinely 2-3x brighter than ordinary (dawson precision for example) sights. Great construction on the swappable fibers too.
I know you have both, so I'd appreciate your feedback. I need a John Wick pistol, but can't justify a 2011. I shoot my G17 well and am also a huge fan of the P30. Given the choice, do you recommend either a G34 + slide and grip work or a P30L + match weight?
I used a brand new gl34 with the big slide cut behind the front sight on the top of the slide, for qualifications, it jammed like 10 times and was lubed
I've been looking for a good home defense or nightstand gun and the Glock 34 is one I've been eyeing for some time. I have a number of Glocks and I've been carrying the G26 most of all for years. Love them! Initially, I didn't think the G34 would be good for this purpose but watching your videos about it as a platform I can see how it may be my best choice. Currently my G23 .40 cal is my go to for the nightstand. I'm getting old not and I shoot the 9mm best! Any advice for my nightstand gun would be greatly appreciated. Throws against the wall
Breaks cheap plastic irons lol
Glocks are good but I doubt I'll ever buy one
They just don't do it for me and I think they're pricey for the features
Thank you.
I have the Gen 4 MOS G34. MIne has Trijicon Suppressor/Optic Sights, Trijicon RMR Type 2 6.5 MOA, and apex trigger. It runs great
Glock everyday and twice on Sunday.
I have handle it edge grips on my edc Glock 26. Absolutely great feeling and looks amazing. I’ve had people ask me if I had my 26 stippled
I am on my 3rd G34, a Gen 5 MOS, with a Holosun 507Comp, and I still love it!!! With the Glock Performance Trigger, it’s a tack driver!!!
Glock is King of the defensive handgun....
Would definitely own a 34. Currently have a 19, 31 and a 17. Love all of them.
Which gun is better, Glock 34 or CZ P10F?
Glock really nailed it with this one!
Can never go wrong with the G34. Another great video.
Thank you for sharing these sights! I’m going to get some of these to try out on my 19
Absolutely love my 34/Gen.3 with JagerWerks slide work. Not a fan of Glock triggers though...
I Like the 34, and have a Gen4 model. Added some Trijicon HD night sights on it and was good to go! It was a good duty gun for me!
My favorite Glock is the newest M&P 2.0 with the flat faced trigger.
I love that😂😅
Why did sw kill the hinged trigger and go with the dingus trigger?!!!
Lol
@@estranhobecause people had nothing better to do than complain about the hinged trigger.
@@cavalieroutdoors6036and they want cool over dependable and functional.
Great video I own a Glock 34 gen5 , I've put an SRO on it and changed the barrel to gold and put the Johnny Glock trigger in it and no malfunction
Gold....why did it have to be gold. Lol just messing w u.
@@dgunearthed7859 😂
Funny, just got back from the range with my G34.5. Moved my Dawson Precision sights to it and added a Glock Performance Trigger. Going to a GSSF Match this weekend. Thinking about putting the Holosun Red Dot on it that screws directly to the slide without an optics plate.
I love my 34, I shoot it competitively and have changed the sights, put a Timney alpha in it and put some talon sandpaper grips on it, and it shoots like a brick but it’s awesome
Thanks! I rely so much on your videos that is why I am a Patreon and have bought 5 guns since November
When I bought my first Glock 35. I wanted an enclosed slide. They finally enclosed the slide!
I just ordered a G17L because an extra 1/2" matters! Been waiting for years for them to be available again.
I think this is the first Glock video I've given a like to.
Yes Sir l live in California and I open carry this gun for work and carry it with 135g critical duty and home defense pistol🤙
How are you feeling about the Gen 5 vs Gen 4?
You are crazy accurate and fast! Have you considered a video or series of videos on the steps to becoming both accurate and fast?
Mountain hikes I own a Gunfighters Inc chest holster for the PPQ…
i would also shout out FCD optic plates. rock solid and overbuilt. i run the bob vogel fiber optic sights and they’ve been stellar.
I have a Gen 5 Glock 34 and it’s everything you described! A keeper for sure.
I'm thinking of buying a glock 34 after watching your vid about end of the world pistols, you made a valid point on having one.
Have a G34 Gen 4. Minor internal upgrades to get a lighter and smoother trigger. Like it very much as a target pistol.
I just put together a G34 using a Zev MBK, Zev internals and a brownells slide and barrel. Pretty dope imho.
Hi Chris. I live in Iowa also. I don't have the 34 but I love my 35 a lot. Probably shoot it more accurately than my other Glocks. Take care
I have the G35 with a KKM .357 Sig barrel - I must say, the long-form Glock really favors that caliber. It's a fantastic combination.
G34, mine is a Gen-4...it works and works and works. top show Chris👍👍👍👍👍
My most recent gun purchase was a G34. I have a few Glocks but this is now my going to the city EDC. I think I'll upgrade the mounting plate based on your advice.
I have always wanted the 17L, which is the same thing but even longer slide...
I have a glock 34 and love it. I also have a S&W Shield plus and PSA Dagger micro.
Glock 34 is my favorite pistol outside of competition, and my second favorite in competition. It's incredible how it shoots.
Glock 35 Gen 3 is my absolute favorite Glock!
Glock 17 for me… all Glocks are fantastic though 👍
Good evening, Chris. Have you ever done a review on the Holosun SCS MOS? I would love to see your thoughts on it.
I'm considering one. I'm an M&P9 and 1911 guy, but have some experience (G21 good, G22 bad). with Glocks.
Those pair really well with the Recover Tactical 20/20
started shooting competition some years ago with a brand new gen 2 . great gun!
What do you think about a Glock 35 for home defense with a oem 40 to 9 conversion barrel so both 9 and 40 can be shot
I wonder why they stopped cutting that big window like the Gen 3 and 4 had
Bought one today. Mostly based on your reviews and commentary.
I know you have both, so I'd appreciate your feedback.
I need a John Wick pistol, but can't justify a 2011. I shoot my G17 well and am also a huge fan of the P30. Given the choice, do you recommend either a G34 + slide and grip work or a P30L + match weight?
Love my 34s gen 4 & 5. I carry mine AIWB with a Dark Star Orion
Y'all have a wonderful Friday & weekend! I love your channel... God Bless!
I carry a hellcat pro and just love the grip texture on it. Can carry all day without it chafing, but it really sticks in the hand when you need it to….
Fun video. The first gun I raced and took my IPSC exam on, was a G35..
I own a G34 g4, I'm going to sell it and upgrade to the gen 5. I'm left handed so I prefer the gen 5 Glocks.
Random question, but would you choose a glock 17 or cz p10f as a combat pistol?
I love my....sig p365
With stainless steel slide!!
I wish it had the glock trigger.
Mine too.
I painted em pink and yellow and carved “kindness” onto the slide. Rock em with akimbo drop holsters.
