The beginning scene shows you exactly how 90% of Americans truly are. Your neighbors, your own family, most of them are truly monsters. Good people in an ugly world will be rare. But to us who’ve been through hard times and still shown morality, etc. We will be rewarded in the end.

@@chrislaurenceleo it’s really funny because during World War II there was a small group of Jews that lived in the neighborhood that told the rest of the Jews that when the Nazis got there, they weren’t going to be their friends the first week that the Nazis got there they brought bread baskets to everybody in the neighborhood the second week they were all eating at cookout with them then the third week they took them in to become slaves and later die off in the camps and the ones that knew that this was gonna happen and took off earlier. We’re sitting in America watching it happen. The point rarely made about these movies is that the decline of America is so pronounced, so very visible in its frayed urban landscape that there is really no problem with finding filming locations.

I had a taste of this when riots and looting broke out in natal s.a. ...very scary....no food supply ..plus i had COVID...stuck in suburbs ...militias forming ..fortunately certain security police calmed it down to normal...woman children killed in some places...shook me to the core...
Almost as good as the road. I was not expecting this at all I was pretty much expecting a very poor Bee Movie but it was extremely well done and the actors were extremely on point. I have to say I was not expecting the graphic news of this movie there were two places that were extremely graphic that I literally had to turn my head because it was really too much. But think about this for a minute for those people putting this movie down...... this can easily be us tomorrow. There are way too many people in this country who have the attitude that this can never happen to us or we are the Great America and this will never happen in this country. Y'all best wake up. This can happen and it can happen quicker than you can imagine. If you don't see what's happening in our country right now everyone at this point countries around the world are very intent and intense divide and what is happening with the wars and think about this how much an EMP can drastically change our world and our country and our comfort in a drop of a dime

I'll watch this tonight. Reading the comments as an old low budget fan film producer, I expect to see a lot of avoidable filming oversights. I also know the producers see all the miscues before we do, learn from them and do better next time.

It's about damn time that an American Studio released a realistic movie. After seeing Threads and the movie 1984, I was hoping that an American studio could release something similarly realistic.
No zombies, no "mutants" with superpowers, the villains don't wear flamboyant costumes, I love it!
Just wish there were more grey characters showing both traits of good and evil. But other than that, damn near a perfect movie.

The grocery stores we all visit for our shopping for food are resupplied a couple of times every week.
Once power is gone fuel will be gone, so trucks will no longer deliver goods to the stores. Everything will collapse in less than a week. Very few families keep more than a few days of food in their homes.

early on, you have the sophisticated breathing masks that there can't possibly be any functional filters left for. Then ridiculously incompetent bad guys making endless mistakes in CQC and in clearing an occupied house...at the end more incompetent combat. None of these people would have survived as long as they did -- good guys and bad guys -- with that level of skills.

i think the used filters can be hollowed out and replaced with packing and homemade activated charcoal and maybe some other natural minerals like iodine-fabric as a prefilter, but i digress that most people would unintentionally make themselves sick or simple injury turned deadly

This was a really good realistic movie(aside from all the usual stupidity you see in scripts). Great acting all around. The ending was tense, and fast. Probably produced by a family and their friends by the look of the credits.

Great post-apocalyptic movie, believable characters, good story arc, realistic dialogue, realistic bad guys.
Lessons in this movie......be handy with guns........ every stranger is suspect......stay off of main roads.......try Not to be seen.
I'm thinking that maybe it would have been better for the family if they hardened their house against invasion AND shot it out with the guys surrounding their house, there were about 10-15 guys surrounding their house they appear to have had enough ammo.
Imo he made the best decision for the situation, fighting for a house that has no supplies doesn't make sense to me especially when his militia consist of a woman, child and an injured fella and woefully outnumbered.

WOW, I am impressed with the people who like this movie. Do they have any clue on what to expect during a time like this? Do they really think they should all be sitting around the house, listening to a radio/tape while they should be fixing their vehicle, getting it packed for bugging out ASAP????
And without the luxury of WATER, they always look so clean, clean hair, make-up on, all is good, hair is even curled like it is supposed to be when you go shopping.
It would have been a good movie premise if only it had been done realistically. I would never recommend this movie for anyone to watch to learn what to do in this kind of a SHTF.

Under the presented circumstances, bugout to where? Another place just like the place they left? If the location you are at has depopulated and has resources what is the point of bugging out? Is it just to bug out? Not saying they're competent, overall (they should be making sure they have a source of water and way to produce food). My question is, Where are the firearms? There should be a lot of them but these guys aren't even Fallout level of armed. They ARE ridiculously undefended. People can approach and not be known about until they are knocking on the door. Insane.

Aggravating how they have nothing but time on their hands forever, but haven't preplanned or prepared anything. Just going through the motions until shit happens and then it's full on panic mode.

Nobody boards up windows or plants a garden, they're under constant threat but don't post watches, have bug-out bags or any defenses or booby traps... Even the bad guys are all just "Welp, we'll just be murder hobos getting in gunfights over the last can of beans, and when that's gone, guess we'll just starve then." But all of that is pretty standard for the post-apocalyptic genre.
Some ppl don't have the means to prepare. Like what about ppl with no family who cares and no husband or children cause they all passed away. It is scarey to think that this could happen in the near future. I always thought this was a possibility but not until I and my children have passed away- even my grandchildren. But who really knows right?😬
@@cc.8642 Not about means necessarily. Knowledge is power, even with zero bought materials for this circumstance they have a vast amount of usable material and time on their hands which they have done absolutely nothing with other than waiting to die. The more knowledge that you have, the less "things" you need to get by.

I'm wondering now in September of 2024 if all of the Apocalypse movies about viruses, like Stephen King's very popular *The Stand,* and series like The Walking Dead, came about *naturally,* or, if we were deliberately *primed emotionally* to be scared out of our wits, *way beyond reason,* at even the *hint* of a pandemic.
