This is great. Jesse has so much history, like Dan does and both can NERD out on martial arts with us as well; in a way, they’re teaching us as we listen to their casual conversation, which I thought was a bit more formal. Hope to see Seth be part of this channel’s interviewees as well
Love this, can’t wait till the next episode. I would also love to see a colab with Sensei Seth. Or something live with the three of you with chat and all.
Two of the people who has inspired us to make our own Podcast and content related to Martial Arts, specially about Bujinkan Budo Taijustu! Thank both for the experience, the insights and the inspiration!!
It was awesome to see you guys collaborate. I really enjoy the positivity in the TH-cam martial arts community. It really inspires me to find new ways of enjoying my training and improving my health and fitness. Thank you 🙏
It is vids and platforms like this(where people like Jesse and Dan get together and share knowledge with us and each other) that make me(and other like-minded ones)want to start training and add to the personal arsenals. Thanks to you both.
Very cool interview and video Dan Sensei! 😁🙏 …when a 75 yr old asks me if they’re too old to start learning martial arts, I tell them “what the hell took you so long? Better late then never!” 😁
You know I think this would be something cool for your channel. As a Kenpo guy myself I would love to see you go over Techniques from time to time. Great show BTW.
Yes, that is something we're going to do but I'm in a process of "relearning" a lot of my old material, refreshing and looking for better understanding. In addition we're trying to spread out topics and get a lot of other art communities in the mix. There will definitely be more Kenpo material coming up, we're also working on some seminars. As far as teaching or reviewing some techniques, it'll happen in some form but not sure where just yet, it may likely be Patreon for our members.
Really enjoyed this Mr. Dan. Mr. Enkamp does indeed have an awesome channel and like yours I have also subscribed to his as I personally feel the two of you have much valuable information on the martial arts to offer. I have been extremely fortunate to be a part of a school that has allowed me to explore and try different styles by attending various seminars in other countries as well as right here in Canada, which has in turn allowed me along with my fells karate karateka to cross train. On a side note, one of my friends who I train with came from an American Kenpo Karate school and I have been opened to learning some of the techniques he taught me which I find to be very effective. Keep up the good work Mr. Dan 👍🏾
Mr Dan, will we ever get to see your sparring footage? I'd love to see a video where you demonstrate the principles behind certain American Kenpo techniques and how they are used in real live sparring.
Hello Sensei Jesse Enkamp and Mr Dan just wanted to say thank you to both of you. I watch all of your videos all the time on both your channels and I learned so much. You both have helped me to progress in my own Karate training and as I'm currently training for my second degree brown belt all of your advice and knowledge helps me to grow. The current instructors I have are great too but I really wish both of you would be my senseis!! Keep up the great work both of you and thank you so much! :) - Michael
Man that is one thing I never expected to make use of was breakfalls, but every time I have fallen over the years the training kicked in, and I was sore, but not broken. One time I was delivering pizza and I go to walk off the deck leading to their front door, and on the second step I stepped into thin air and started to fall and turn so that I would land on my shoulder, and I automatically adjusted. As a result I was sore, but nothing was broken, I just laid there for a minute and once I was sure I was okay I got up slowly. Man learn breakfalls they will save your butt,
Sensei Dan and Jesse Enkamp I've been subscribed to both your channels for awhile now. I enjoy both. You guys keep up the good work and continue to educate us about Martial Arts. Sensei Dan, can you do some retro videos on the Tournament Fighting genre of Video Games; SF2, Samurai Showdown, World Heroes, Art Of Fighting, and others! I think Double Dragon 1&2 series.
We are looking at some retro games...we're also currently putting together a second Art of One Show...a live show that we're hoping to do once or twice a month. It'll be a longer format with segments and we're considering making Retro Dojo an reoccurring segment on the show. Virtua Fighter was also one I liked back in the day.
@@ArtofOneDojo I remember Virtua Fighter, I didn't play it much. My parents got me "The Perfect Weapon" (on Blu-ray) for Christmas. There is awesome fight scenes in it. It was an awesome gift, one I still watch over and over again! I play a lot of "Samurai Showdown" and "Worldheros" on my PS2 (Samurai Showdown is my favorite).
I'm curious to see if he asks you about the art of Kenpo and if you're able to shed some light on it, and any misunderstandings he may have about it. I like both of your channels so this is cool to see!
I've seen your interviews with Cynthia Rothrock, Jeff Speakman, and Jesse and I love hearing what they all have to say. Are you planning any history of episodes being released soon after having many different amazing martial artist on you're channel?
We are working on more History episodes, they just take a much longer time to produce. We are hoping to incorporate interviews into them as well, similar to what we did with the Kenpo and Goju Ryu history episodes.
Now that you have had Jesse Enkamp san on your channel, does that mean that you will soon have Sensei Seth, or Rokas from Martial Arts Journey as guests too?
Ive heard that martial arts are good for health reasons even with joint and back pains. How can you recommend karatedo to someone that says they can't practice because they suffer from back pains?
It's not always easy to convince someone to join, but that's part of the issue...they need to want that for themselves. Maybe invite them to come and watch and take part in some easy drills. Injuries can limit what specific actions people can do, but it shouldn't exclude them altogether. Depending on what the issue is, sometimes the exercise can even help. Everyone needs to define their limits, find what they can do within those limits and speaking with a doctor and instructor, figure out ways to gradually push those limits.
my oldest student was 86. 82 when he started. we work it differently for sure. but he's made to the advanced ranks. he's good staying there tho. he has 0 interest in testing anymore.
He said "Okinawa" without saying "The birthplace of karate"!!! 😮
I love how all the TH-cam channels I follow in martial arts meet or work together in videos in some capacity.
We have a lot of the same objectives. Bring positive outlooks and help everyone get the most out of the martial arts.
I started watching Jesse”s channel when no one knew about it. Man, that’s a long time.
This is great. Jesse has so much history, like Dan does and both can NERD out on martial arts with us as well; in a way, they’re teaching us as we listen to their casual conversation, which I thought was a bit more formal. Hope to see Seth be part of this channel’s interviewees as well
Yep 😁 Nerd power💪
I'm sure you'll love the China episodes, Dan. Jesse did an amazing job on those ones.
That quote is one of the best I have ever heard!
Brilliant guys cant believe Okinawa was said more than once and no one said "the birthplace of karate " haha 😊
Finally you got him....awesome.
Actually HE got me. This is 100% due to Jesse Sensei's generosity. He reached out to me for a conversation and it was a very pleasant experience :)
@@ArtofOneDojo that is even more badass...love both channels and always cobra kai for life lol
Great video! I've been training for almost six decades and yet I am so inspired by both of you guys :) Many thanks :)

May both of your multiverses continue to grow and expand and become limitless.

Jesse, are you ok? You said "Okinawa", without adding "the birthplace of Karate"!
Two of my favorite TH-cam creators shooting the breeze, very cool. Like to see you guys together on a mat exploring your respective styles. Peace.
Amazing interview. Two of my best channels of Martial arts. I am from Cameroon, Africa. I am always learning

Love both your channels I am a kenpo guy but I appreciate all Jesse does with Karate history and explanation. Great Video!
Very important to protect your body. So just be careful with what you do. However never stop training.
