    Rob, I look out my front windows at Stock's Mill in Hillsdale, Michigan. How crazy you found one of "our" bags in California! The mill was started by a couple of our city founders in the late 1830's and was purchased by F.W. Stock in 1862. The Stock's became the most prominent family in Hillsdale and at one time the mill was the largest flour mill East of the Mississippi. They became famous for their Daisy Donut mix. Unfortunately after being purchased by larger corporations it was closed in the late 1990's. It sat vacant for quite a few years but is now the site of the Lucky Buck deer minerals company. Seaside Oil Company - The company was founded early in 1898 in San Francisco. The two primary shareholders were John J. Cook of that city, who became president, and Joseph Musgrove of Santa Barbara. The other directors, each with five shares apiece, were all from Summerland.
    In 1966, Phillips Petroleum bought Seaside.

      Thank you very much for this valuable information of the history of Seaside. I really enjoy learning about the history of oil companies. I remember seeing a house on the hill in Summerland covered with Seaside signs in the early nineties. Many people tried to buy these signs but the owner wouldn’t sell any of them. Later on all the signs were removed from the house and I heard a collector was able to buy all of them.

    That is an awesome fire truck. I'd say it's from the mid 1930s, very well preserved. The gas pump is very cool!! This is one of the best things about the hobby, a great way to fill your excitement and explore the open road finding treasures of the past.
    This, by far, is one of your best videos!!! I'm looking forward to seeing more videos and fantastic content.

    Weird, we had some of those old trucks and jeeps on our farm back in the 80's and got rid of them... never thought of them as antiques, just thought of them as junk at the time. Now they're pretty much pushing antique.

    • @gaspumprob
      @gaspumprob  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you are very correct in what you said. Many were junked in the past. The GMC trucks in this video are extremely heavy duty 1.5 to 2 tons each. Not everyone can collect these but I really appreciate them as part of our working heritage in America 🇺🇸

    Rob, what neat barn finds you all came across. I have never seen a double clock gas pump - what year does that date from? The scenery around the barn is beautiful and green! Enjoyed this video as usual.

    • @gaspumprob
      @gaspumprob  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Rodney, These are definitely rare pumps . These were manufactured by the Bennett pump company from 1929- 1935 according to the literature, I have on it. I agree the scenery was beautiful there!! Thanks for visiting today. Rob

    California pickers starring........
    I'm saying the guy on American pickers may want to team up with you once in a while so you don't compete with him.
    SO WHAT I'M SAYING IS THAT YOU DID A GREAT JOB. THIS FLOAT SMOOTHLY AND I REALLY LIKED SEEING THAT NATIONAL BEARING SIGN. I KNOW SOME GUYS THERE. I BET YOU THEY WOULD LIKE THAT sign. By the way they have a great machine shop actually a couple of them within their business 👍👍👍
