So cool. Keep watching lately this cause it's one of my fave Haken songs & I just enjoy watching u play, now I just read the description & see ur band is Omnerod! 😂 I've been listening to u guys recently! Was wondering what pickups u have in that guitar? Looks like Lungren? I can't quite tell if it is.
Thank you so much! Advice about learning the song itself would obviously be to slow parts down and play with metronome until everything is really tight. There's a very mecanical feel to it all and some riffs are pretty complex, so this definitely helps for this song. About backing tracks, I unfortunately don't know of any... But using Guitar Pro files and muting guitar parts could be a good option? It would also help with the slowing down and metronome aspects. Thanks again!
It is! I actually tuned down to G# (so a step and a half below standard) and used a Whammy to tune down 2 semitones for rhythm parts, and up 3 semitones for lead/clean parts. This allowed me to keep my tone fairly unaffected by the pitch shifting. I've tuned down to 8 string tuning with this guitar (which has a 27" scale) in the past though, so with adequate string gauges I'd say it's definitely possible with your guitar. :)
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed! I actually tuned my guitar to G# (so a whole step higher than standard 8 string tuning), and used a Digitech Whammy to pitch shift to 2 semitones below for rhythm parts, and 3 semitones up for lead and clean parts. All 8 strings are used in this song, and shifting to 5 semitones would alter the tone too much. For this, I used a 10-56 set for the first 6 strings, and a 074 gauge string for the low G#. This guitar's scale is 27" , which also helps, obviously.
8 string tuning adapted to a 7, so F# standard (shifting to B standard for lead and clean parts with a Whammy pedal in my case, in order to use that high E string)
I'm using an Axe Fx, and f you're referring to my main distorted tone, it's basically a Friedman HBE and a Suhr Badger 30 in parallel with an EQ, a gate and a short reverb! :) I'm using a different EQ and an OD to boost solos, as well as a rotary and a chorus for a couple of other parts. For clean parts it's a blend of JM45 and Band Commander, with a reverb, a delay and a compressor. Hope that helps!
@@Niamorg1007 Thanks a lot for your attention, thats really help me. Whole time i am looking for that distortion tone and lead tones. Wish you continued success...
It sounds so good dude! May I ask what the tuning is tho? Cause I wanna play this song especially the chorus lool but I dont have an 8 string, thanks and keep it up!!
Thank you very much for the kind words! The song is played on a standard tuned 8 string guitar, and all strings are used throughout the song, unfortunately. What I did was I tuned my 7 string 3 half steps down, and used a Digitech Whammy to pitch down 2 more half steps for the low stuff, and up 3 half steps for the lead stuff on the higher strings. :) hope that makes sense
@@Niamorg1007 well it sounds like you didn't use any digital transpose, it sounds like you manually tune it down to drop F# for that heavy stuff, incredible 🥶🥶
Also Haken?!! What!? Now do one from Intervals or The Dear Hunter, don't know maybe some Scale The Summit? *Haha just kidding, yep this song is one of the most powerful and greatest songs from Haken, I'd rather listen to the instrumental version (is just more enjoyable and elegant)
Glad you enjoy Haken as well! Yeah this song is definitely one of my favourite of theirs. And I'm not too familiar with STS even though I enjoy some of the stuff I've been hearing from them. I LOVE TDH and already thought about covering some of their stuff, but it's very orchestral, and few songs are guitar-centered. I'm not excluding a full Act 3 or Act 5 cover in the future though... :)
The chorus riff is one of the best ever
I couldn't stop repeating it today at work, it hits on a different level!!!!!
Goddamn. That pinch harmonic at 11:41 is eargasmic 🤤. Flawless job dude. You nailed it incredibly 🤘🏻
Cheers dude, thank you so much for watching and commenting, glad you enjoyed it!
My favorite off of that album. Been trying to learn it too but switched back my 8 string to play meshuggah for the time being lol
Same, took the album to another level for me. And a healthy Meshuggah break is always a good idea!
OMG that song! Listened so much to know it by heart and this cover still moves me. Great Job man
Thanks man, glad you liked it!
It takes so much talent to even think to cover this, but playing flawlessy and with this tone is just another level. Great job mate!
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! :)
The chorus riff is one of the most disgusting and sexy riffs I have ever heard. You nailed it!!
Thank you! And I agree, this riff is filthy in the best possible way.
This. Is. Very. Good. You were the first result looking up covers of this song and you officially inspired me to learn it, thanks.
That's awesome to read, thank you! You won't regret it, it's challenging but one of the most fun and enjoyable songs I've learned. :)
Holy hell mate.
sir, yes.
So awesome man
Ejecución impecable, saludos desde Colombia.
Haken is always nutworthy. Great cover 👍
The headbanging at 12.17 which then turns into halftime headbanging :D love it, clean cover
That groove hits hard! Thanks for the kind words and for checking it out. :)
This is insane, Timing, Technics, the Sound and the Feeling.
Thnx for motivating me to practice more!
You Rock dude!!
Thanks mate, that's very nice of you :)
Man when I saw you do the ending tap legato lick, I had to instantly subscribe. Kudos brother!
Cheers man, glad you liked it! :)
Goddd that tone is incredible. Well done, this looks like quite a tough cover.
Thank you so much! Yeah a couple of parts were quite challenging. One of the most fun songs I ever covered though. :)
I searched for this, and I'm not disappointed. Awesome work my friend.
Thank you so much for checking it out and for the kind words!

Thank you so much, and thanks for listening to our own stuff as well! Those are Lundgren M7 pickups indeed :)
The intro riff is so tough
Yes it is, only starting slow and working my way up gradually with a metronome helped me get it cleaner.
@@Niamorg1007 Just learned the solo at about 10 minutes. That tapping bit is super fun!
Amazing work. Very clean. I've been learning the tabs of this song but I can't find the backing track anywhere online. Any advice? Thanks! keep it up

Great job, man! Oo
Thank you! I didn't use backing tracks actually, I just recorded over the original track and played with EQs a tiny bit. :)
Is that baritone tuning with a 7th string ? need more guitars lol. Do I need specific diapason so It won't fuck up mine? (673 mm)

My strings get floppy on down tuning my 7 string.
