Those 2 dead notes after the "You turn your head on affinity" part are so perfectly placed, I spend the whole 15 minutes and 51 seconds of the song waiting for those parts
The riff at 1:30 is so badass! I wish that it was a bit more noticeable on the actual song. I feel that this amazing riff gets buried in everything else, when it should be pronounced if anything.
You're right! I had no idea it climbed up the scale the way that it did, and all of the small notes in between are very hard to hear on the album. I can tell you, as a musician, when they write something like this, they "hear it" in its full correct version, even though to us it sounds buried, to them, their mind knows what's going on, so they don't notice that it's actually buried to the unsuspecting. Great riff indeed, glad to have gotten to see this.

The riff for the chorus is one of my favorites. I'm curious, there's a noticeable switch from Visions to The Mountain to a more "modern" sound, especially when it comes to the riffs. Was this a conscious decision or did it develop organically?
Charlie joined after Hen had written a majority of Aquarius, and he was the main songwriter for Visions too. Charlie's influences really started to come out since then :)
I was surprised about how the riff from the chorus actually sounds isolated. To me, it has a very different feel than it has in the song with all instruments playing. Do both guitars actually play the identical riff? If you watch some of the guitar covers of this song, many of them play slightly different notes during the chorus riff XD I think it's amazing how some melodies or riffs or whatever sound so different when played isolated! And, of course, great playing from a very likeable and humorous guitar player :)
Charlie, do you guys tune to 'drop E' (E B E A D G b e) for 1985? For the really low djenty part where you're hitting the low F# to E? Or are you using a pitch shifting pedal just for that one part?
