@Kuooii clowning well no more collaboration between Mick Gordon and bethesda/ID in the future after the doom eternal released soundtrack fiasco, you can Google it...
@Kuooii clowning It's a bit complex of a situation. People complain that the Doom soundtrack didn't seemed to look like anything in the game, it seems it was badly remixed. This because during the process Mick seemed to struggle in properly remixing making the soundtrack s for shipping. So Id software (I think it was them) Gave Mick 2 more weeks I believe. Still Mick didn't managed to delivered anything and so one of the people of the company had to do the remixing themselves for shipping. The result was that the music didn't looked like anything and Mick seemed pissed. But here is the thing, first we got the badly remixed Doom music. Them Mick confessed on a twit that he was unhappy the way they remixed. And then one of the directors of the game came out and told the story about Mick missing the deadlines and so they had to do the the remixing themselves. This quite a few mouths ago so I don't know if it had any more updates.
@@DiamondLifer Well, yes, of course, music without words is much better than most bands, Miku doesn’t even need to tune the rhythm to the words, most rock bands can play like that.

He probably sits in a little box, playing these sick riffs, playing them again and again, bobbing his head, and going "Yeah, that sounds really awesome", and now he gets the chance to finally get on a stage and just let out all that pent up energy, seems like a friggin' amazing experience.

Everything apparently went really well on Doom 2016. He gave a speech at GDC and said one if the biggest reasons why the soundtrack turned out so well is because he had tons of support from id. So the exact opposite to what happened on Doom Eternal.
Shred? There's absolutely nothing technical about what he plays. A chimpanzee could learn those 3 basic sounds to play in simple rhythms. Sounds cool and all, but is not shredding or much talent.
Off stage vs on stage persona. Very common in musicians actually. Actors, musicians and artists in general are often introverts and they just have to turn it on when they are on stage, taking on an alternate personality.

If you think the tracks are instrumental i recommend watching Micks GDC presentation. All the tracks are made using single waveform tones then a ton of sound engineering and only then adding guitar and drum at the end.
Ah ok. In games i prefer the soundtracks to not have vocals anyways. In a game you will play for hours, hearing the same vocal track on repeat just grinds my eardrums, whereas instrumental music does not distract from the gameplay so i rarely notice where a track repeats. For me this is especially noticable in RPG games if they use vocal tracks in anything other than cutscenes or set-pieces like boss battles.
He's got the makings of a really fine touring artist. He knows how to interact with the crowd and with the other musicians on stage. A thing that has always bugged me since I watched an interview with him was this: he stated that he went out and bought a 9-string guitar (which I would lay money down that the guitar he's play is the one he bought). The reason for opting for a 9 over a 5 was that the lower chords sounded more aggressive. More Doom, if you will. So my question is that if he was pursuing a deep tone, why not just buy a bass guitar? I'm not a musician, so please excuse my ignorance if the answer is obvious to you.
In my opinion this was the single greatest on stage performance at the Game Awards, Mick Gordon absolutely tore the house down!! The BFG Division part of the performance always gets me chills!! Loved the drummers reaction too! 🎶🎧👏👏👏👏👏😊
Fun fact.. The drummer is one of the best drummers. I just saw the beanie hat and the V-Neck when they started playing and went "IS THAT FREAKING MATT HALPERN". Drummer for Periphery and is one HELL of a beast on the drums.
i just came to rewatch this for the first time since it happened, didnt know about periphery back then and watching it now i instantly saw the beanie and had the exact same reaction
@Mercury not if it is an opinion. Djent is pure garbage no variation no nothing. its 3+ minutes the same shit. its like listening to mainstream pop music or rap music. they do the same thing. cant believe people can listen to this.
@Mercury i have listen to that band and i dont like that band. they did their own thing and didnt know they made some kind of djent style. djent is a genre that is created by the internet. not by meshuggah. and no djent doesnt take skills to play. its the 2 or maybe 3 top guitar strings. mostly played on the E,A or E,A,D string. djent is technically not hard to play. if you want a metal style that is hard to play then look for technical death metal like bands as origin or necrophagist. those are technically hard metal styles to play. djent doesnt even come close to it. its literally one of the easiest "metal" genres to play.
@Mercury i have i have researched it lol. meshuggah claims even themself that they didnt create the genre. metalinjection.net/news/yes/meshuggah-guitarist-says-band-is-very-sorry-for-creating-djent-our-bad here you do. the guitarist even apoligized for it lol. even Meshuggah hate djent. thats how much it sucks. and odd time signature says nothing. its what you do with it. and djent is literally the most easiest "metal" genre to play. if you still want to believe that that is not the case then you have to learn alot. and it sucks for you that i HAVE knowledge in this matter. just sucks that you dont know shit about it because you think that a time signature is the same as making difficult music. its literally not the case. And you talk about tuning. if you claim that i dont know shit then make sure you come with facts first. which you dont. i know music you clearly dont.

@Kuooii clowning Yes I would hope for that as well. But it would be preferable for the company and Mick to clarify this situation.
André Filipe doubt it. People dm him and sent email about it he and he confirmed that he will not work will bethesda id games in future

If you think the tracks are instrumental i recommend watching Micks GDC presentation. All the tracks are made using single waveform tones then a ton of sound engineering and only then adding guitar and drum at the end.
he means there's no vocals dude...
HoneySulphur 9 string just holds the ridiculously low tuning very well and gives you a wider range of sound.

@Mercury i have i have researched it lol. meshuggah claims even themself that they didnt create the genre.

here you do. the guitarist even apoligized for it lol. even Meshuggah hate djent. thats how much it sucks. and odd time signature says nothing. its what you do with it. and djent is literally the most easiest "metal" genre to play. if you still want to believe that that is not the case then you have to learn alot. and it sucks for you that i HAVE knowledge in this matter. just sucks that you dont know shit about it because you think that a time signature is the same as making difficult music. its literally not the case. And you talk about tuning. if you claim that i dont know shit then make sure you come with facts first. which you dont. i know music you clearly dont.
