Littke Isadore & The Inquisitors All Night Long as great as the original recordings . Cds by them avaliable crom Amazon. I went to School with their original drummer Phil Leone and he was a true lover of that sound. As Dave Fornan ( Little Isadore) and the entie group.
I'm so thankful I found you on You Tube....I've learned so much about rare doo wop music..it is more vast then I ever imagined...You are a talented man *smiles*
The song at the end 'Last Year This Time' sounds very similar to the Cadillacs Zoom Boom Zing which was never released as a single and only released on the album Crazy Cadillacs in 1959
Great stuff there Fosman, I see the prices on some of these 45's, try and get someone to buy for these prices. I've found 45's on E-Bay for .99....but some of these I've never heard......great job, keep them coming. Keep the echo alive.
I read in the literature that came in the Rhino records Doo Wop box that no copies of Stormy Weather by The Five Sharps on 45 were known to exist yet I see you have one. That is pretty cool. I am way too young to have been around in those days and I am still learning about doo wop so I am very curious about this. Love love love this music.
@@markkillion4358those are most definitely repros. There was only speculation that MAYBE they released that record on a 45 but not likely. Still pricy as a boot as the OG is around $20k or more
Very interesting video which I enjoyed. Yeah, I was sorta surprised at seeing the Du Mauriers' "All Night Long" going for $250.00 but, hey ... it's 2012 now, and it's more than 50 years since its release!
I dreamed Last night by the Impressions ? I'm guessing there are alot of groups called the Impressions. I thought it was The Impressions that Jerry Butler and Curtis mayfield were appart of one time
I remember the first issue of the Osborne Record Price Guide showed Stormy Weather as the most valuable record then, 35 years ago, and I seem to recall it was $5000 then. What's a mint 78 worth now?
If any of these records have actually changed hands at these prices - some of which I doubt - the buyers would be unwise to assume such high values are going to hold up. Collecting these is very much a Baby Boom thing, and as us Boomers die off, interest will diminish a great deal too, along with values. It's now nearly 5 years since this video was posted, and I'd be interested to know if any of these records can be proved to have sold at these prices recently.
joe aptly begins this video with a smooth hammond organ just like old d,j ''chuck richards out of baltimore stated his show, a man before his time who mixed light jazz and r@B WHO INTRODUCE A GROUP CALLED ''THE HARPTONES and hammond music by wild bill davis and bill buckner, who henry mancini caopied for his composition''mr.lucky
yes the answer is on the very first post, un-released and unknown group, thats frustrating, so chances of finding it are somewhere between 0 and don't make me laugh, even less in the UK. can we persuade him to put the whole song up.
According to Jubilee inventory records, legend has it that there MAY have been a legitimate 45 pressing?, could it be in the hands of a unknown collector?, some rumors have been said a legitimate black and red wax copy were pressed, but in time we will see. Anything is possible in the world of collecting.
Joe, just happen to find you on TH-cam. You wouldn't happen to have a copy of Dick Grass and Hoppers: Please Dear & Mr John Law. There's some discrepancy which side was supposed to be number one. Group was out of Bridgeport Connecticut. I played in a group with his guitar player Jimmy Marklin, who may be the only one still above ground from the original group. Don't even know if he's still around. Doo-wop Dwight Bridgeport Connecticut
There are a couple damaged 78's as well as a 78 acetate known to excist . The record was also pressed on 7inch 45RPM according to Jubilee Records but were likely melted for other Jubilee recordings as none of the original 45s have ever been found. Find one and you've made history.
fosman10470, maybe you can help. I think I have what I believe to be the master recording the song Cherry Pie, by Marvin & Johnny. It is the same diameter as a regular 45 rpm but is made of metal. There are two holes, one small as in a 78 rpm, and another hole off to the side the same diameter. it sounds exactly like the original, so I know it could not have been recorded via speaker to mike or dubbed in some way. You seem to be knowledgeable on this subject.
I have a copy of Stormy Weather on Jubilee (45rpm), has all the right serial numbers etc but is market as a reproduction….thought it was worth something, but…
Oh come on guys. It's all hype. The bottom line is the record is only worth what somebody is going to pay for it. You got one for sale for $5000.00? Well it's probably still sitting there and you can brag all you want. I have picked up some of these records over the years for a dollar. Yes a dollar. It depends on who's got them and what you are willing to pay.
Some of you need to talk to Mr Val Shively, Lou Silvani, John Tefteller and others who will set all you straight on the value of some of these records, they are the experts in their field, AND AS a collector for the past 45 years I for one trust their judgement an validity of the prices and their integrity.
No, but nobody has proven THAT it does not exist on 45 I'm very sure someday it will come out of nowhere, just look in the last lets say 30 years or so of the extremely rare singles that have been discovered that people said didn't exist,so never say never.
Are you the Buddy Pecoraro from the South Bronx reunions who made the nostalgic short about the South South Bronx with the "Carrickfergus" background 🎶
Maybe you guys who think I'm being too hard on fosman should know that we like each other very much and have a lot of things in common. I love Do-Wop; I just don't like cheesey Do-Wop. Geez! Get a life! All Do-Wop wasn't good any more than any song in any style was automatically good. Fosman and I agree on something: ELO's "Telephone Line," which blended Do-Wop with great orchestral sounds. Seriously, dudes and dudettes, Joe and I are the best of friends.....
Pecararo your a disgrace I heard that you were selling bootleg records to people and telling these people that they were originals. I'm sorry I ever did a show with you and Bobby O back in 1972, has everybody turn into a crook in this industry. Shame on you Joe Pecararo .
To be completely blunt, I wouldn't give you two cents for most of these songs. They have earned their burials. And, lest you think I know not of what I speak, I was born in 1938 and sure do remember the best of Do Wop. These don't cut it....
I dreamed last night by the Impressions is a fantastic song. Wish I could hear all of it. Cheers.
Excellent and great collection. I love it, please give us more. Thank you.
Littke Isadore & The Inquisitors All Night Long as great as the original recordings . Cds by them avaliable crom Amazon. I went to School with their original drummer Phil Leone and he was a true lover of that sound. As Dave Fornan ( Little Isadore) and the entie group.
Joe,thank you so much for showing true afficionados the real true labels and sounds too. the doo wop wiz
Thanks Fosman for keeping the sound alive, most of these I've never heard, keep up the good work....Bronx girl.
@yardlet6 The flip side was "Down the Road" from 1955. It was on Josie 788. pinkfloyd59
I'm so thankful I found you on You Tube....I've learned so much about rare doo wop music..it is more vast then I ever imagined...You are a talented man *smiles*
Thank you Joe Pecoraro ~ Fantastic Collection
Good Stuff....Congrats for having these moldy oldies
HE'S LIVING IN A DREAM WORLD WITH THESE PRICES, 20 YEARS AGO MAYBE
The flip side of" window lady" by the cadillac's is" down the road" I had it on 78rpm
The song at the end 'Last Year This Time' sounds very similar to the Cadillacs Zoom Boom Zing which was never released as a single and only released on the album Crazy Cadillacs in 1959
Thanks for giving us a taste of these rare items
nite has come lpcut alternate
REALLY GREAT!!! THANKS !!!
Great stuff there Fosman, I see the prices on some of these 45's, try and get someone to buy for these prices. I've found 45's on E-Bay for .99....but some of these I've never heard......great job, keep them coming. Keep the echo alive.
Yes blue and green jubilee 45s are boots, jubilee only pressed black and red vinyl, with red being quite rare.
@chess1458 No it is not Acetate. Tapping on it results in a tin or metal sound. There is no label telling what or who, just a manufacture label.
I have that Marvellos record - found it at the old Maxwell Street market (gone but not forgotten).
I read in the literature that came in the Rhino records Doo Wop box that no copies of Stormy Weather by The Five Sharps on 45 were known to exist yet I see you have one. That is pretty cool. He had colored wax and two shades, to boot! I think those are reproductions.

The Five Sharps on a 45- no way
It's a boot.

The Carribeans version is outstanding. Even better than the Satins. Great job!
I dreamed Last night by the Impressions ? I'm guessing there are alot of groups called the Impressions. I thought it was The Impressions that Jerry Butler and Curtis mayfield were appart of one time
Loved it.. Good job..
Those stormy weather records on r45s were bootlegs
Duh
Don’t think the demand is there anymore. Most of us are getting up there in age and are more interested in discounts on our meds
That record was by the Moonglows and the flip was called See Saw on chess # 1629.
Its only worth what someone is willing to pay
I remember the first issue of the Osborne Record Price Guide showed Stormy Weather as the most valuable record then, 35 years ago, and I seem to recall it was $5000 then. What's a mint 78 worth now?
I have the Blue Jays, but its on a 78 rpm in my jukebox, great rare records
The record only came out as a 78 in 1954. The 45 he's holding up is a boot. Jubilee made 45s of their records when they knew they would sell.
I see. I guess you might say that 78 was the "default" format. Hotter selling releases came out in an additional version.
Duh
night has come on apollo is an alternate from the Relic lp
@pinkfloyd59 Yeah I heard that on the radio. Bobby Jay's old oldie show on WWRL.

I've heard that stormy weather by the five sharps is the most valuable rock and roll record there is.
@nickyjukebox43 Window Lady was done by the Cadillacs but I don't know the other side. You might want to get a list of Cadillacs songs.
yes the answer is on the very first post, un-released and unknown group, thats frustrating, so chances of finding it are somewhere between 0 and don't make me laugh, even less in the UK. can we persuade him to put the whole song up.

@rstory10063 Sounds Like An Acetate Pressing,I've Got Jackie Brenstons Much Later On A Metal Acetate
Could Not Read the titles...what were those on Jubilee...blue / green vinyl???
Didn't realize 50's tune were anything but black vinyl.
When I'm With You is by the Moonglows
I’m not sure that even Slim at Times Square Records had some of the (naturally Stormy Weather)

That song was by the moonglows on chess, and the flip was see saw, I think it was chess 1619?
what about the four of us on adore? jackie cochran on lead from yonkers n.y.
joe, no disrespect to you but, where are you getting your prices from?

I have a copy of Stormy Weather on Jubilee (45rpm), has all the right serial numbers etc but is market as a reproduction….thought it was worth something, but…
What was the song over the closing titles?
I Asked This Question Over A Year Ago,And Still No One Has An Answer,What Is The Song That Starts Playing At 4:20 Seconds?,Anybody?,Mr.Fosman?
What's the name of the song that plays at 4;20Thanks!
Given the aging of the baby boomers, I don't think these kind of prices would hold up for long (if they even are valid now).
Richie is that you? Vic scena
the japanese and europeans are willing to pay a lot
Does anyone know the artist of the last song Last Year This Time ?
@LDooWop Thanks A Bunch,Send Me A PM If You Find It,And Ill Give You My EMail
That Five Sharps 45 is definitely a fake. There are no known surviving legitimate 45's of that one, although a few probably were pressed.

Why are these worth thousands?
Because collectors were willing to pay those prices and the records rarity
for original first pressings
What was that last song?
Yo busco blue mon con la orquesta cabalgata d" artega imstrumental
