started playing AoE2 on my grandpa's old win98 computer because a friend in primary school showed me the game, people streaming it in the recent months have made me come back to it and your videos definitely help with the current state of it ! Amazing that almost 25 years later the game is still going that strong with that big of a community
Man, i seriously love when T90 just talk about stuff or his life back then. Idk, it felt nostalgic even though im literally in southeast asia which is a completely different life and childhood from americans.
Ya T90 is missed out on Longmont Potion Castle if he was listening to Jerky Boys. Longmont potion Castle is just on another level. If you have never heard of him its probably because of what country you live in.
I was born 1971 and started to play AOE 2, when i was about 30 years old. When i play ranked games, i use name: Ancientgamer. So, propably Birdseed1972 is over 50 years old. tboss on the other hand could be somewhere between 15-78 years.
I started playing age back when I was 4. Still crazy for me to think I'm only a bit older than this game as I was also born in '98. Played as a kid, lost my computer, and then found Zero. Now, T90 and SOTL are pretty much all I watch. Also, been trying to play ranked again. Either have a good day and stomp or have a bad day and drop like it's hot.
Back in my childhood playing AOE1 I would always, always start my random map games on Nomad setting (not sure about DE/Return of Rome but in the OG game Nomad was a starting age setting available for all map types) because, well, it's the earliest start and gives you the most complete gameplay experience, right? Wouldn't want to skip a step! I used to spend so much time dithering about looking for the perfect start, in hindsight it was ludicrous.
I have started watching your youtube uploads few years ago not having ever played the game, I love the content, I have since bought, played and enjoyed it, I'll will eventually try it online, for now I like to play at super slow speed against lots of ia, at fast speed everything just go horrible very fast.
Don't get the kid a key. Most online games have rules about kids playing online, usually a minimum age of 13. And for good reason. Dumb kids innocently giving away personal info online. Also if you do get the kid the game anyway make sure mom and dad are on board for monitoring his online communications.
My brothers had a friend who lent us his copy of 2005 AOEII edition when I was around 6 years old. You bet I never got past normal bots and preferred watching my booming economy then actually focused on hardcore attacking. Was a blast. Until we had to give it back. Come 15-20 years later and we all have a copy of the AOEII DE now and all join in for an occasional friendly game together with our friends on Sundays against AI bots. Being exposed to it as a kid really brings the nostalgia and makes you want to play it as you get older. Also, always fun to see T90 rant about "the old days" haha. I remember windows 7, how to burn CDs and why we did, and what floppy drives are, but never used them.
birdseed has 12k wood and 13k gold when blue started breaking in. He could have easily build 10 archeries and pumped out archers like mad. I don't care if they are top notch or not. He could afford the numbers it would take to clear the eagles and the kamayuks. Even if he had to build more, dumping his whole wood and gold eco on archers would eventually lead to success against blue's army. It seems like a lot of people value castles and other defensive buildings more than they value army and the truth is that nothing is more powerful than a big army in this game. Numerous production buildings for numerous unit creation quickly. Back when I was much more of a beginner, I was the first in our group (think the year 2000) to build more production buildings than everybody. Back then, we all didn't attack each other and were friendly until somebody felt like they were ready and they started attacking somebody out of nowhere. Everybody built their armies out of like 2 buildings. I noticed that wood and food were the easiest to come by in mass quantities and I would build 8-10 barracks and start building mass halbs. I built so many halbs that it didn't matter what they had. My halbs took out castles, tcs, archers, goth guys, champions, everything.... simply because I had an overwhelming number, I could create them quickly with more production buildings, and my units only cost wood and food. At the time, after winning the first game, everybody asked me what I did. I responded, "Death by Halberdier". I didn't tell them how, but they could look at the board after the fight and surmise what I did. If you don't have a decent number of production buildings in a late game fight and the other side does, you have a good chance at getting creamed. Especially, if they start going 15-20 stables and 60 food guys and just start raiding like crazy with hussar. If you don't have villagers, you can't win a game.
Hey T90, i was just watching another one of your community games and i have a suggestion. A lot of people always try to get into community games, but some never do? I dont know the frequency of your schedule, but maybe 1 out of every 4 games is all players who have never played? Idk how you would screen that, xml sheet or database, honor system i guess, but if even it was 5 guaranteed new players in a sort of "virgin commie" game scenario, helps to get fans in that wanted to get in at least once before they die. Had to come to your newest video to submit my idea, now back to your last video.
I haven't used facebook since like 2016 so hearing about how broken and dysfunctional the gaming platform was is hilarious. It seems like really basic things were just never implemented, their way of doing things just broken and confusing, and they didn't really care to expand the platform based on feedback. I stopped watching your content when you made the switch cuz I just wasn't willing to give Facebook/Meta my information so I'm grateful that you're on back on youtube.
How did Facebook even make money besides selling user information to anyone willing to pay anything or ads that would have more scams and viruses then any website with 3 xs in the tittle? It sucked I would have watched the streams if Facebook was not worse then Malware
I'm a little bit older than you (36), so real men of genius was a huge part of my teenage years. The answer back singing was my favorite part. You can probably find a compilation here on TH-cam
Just so you know how old I am a Sony walkman was our way of listening to music and you were only the coolest of the cool if you had a pager, that or a drug dealer...lol Thanks for the video T90!
On the conversation about selling burnt CD's to schoolmates, I did sell level 100 Pokémon and glitched Mews on Pokémon Red in my elementary school because I knew how to do the missigno glitch. Got a bunch of Pokémon TCG cards and pocket money out of those. 😂
This map always reminds me of Return of the Clans...there were some awesome games on Bedouins (I know this is african clearing, but it's similar to Bedouins)
talking about burned cds iam 19 but when i was like 9 friends dad burned a cd with the first aoe game and thats all i played and couldnt get past that monk mission where you had to convert units and keep the monk alive
I’m so confused by red in this game. I don’t think he ever had more than 10-15 military units at a time, which is a bit odd, but the fact that he never queued more than 5 units at a time while being attacked by an army of 90 despite sitting on nearly 40k of resources is utterly perplexing.
When I played the original aoe2 for the first time as a 10 year old I was flabbergasted how to make onagers fire flaming projectiles. I would research heated shot and wonder why it didn't work. Idr how long it took me to finally figure out chemistry was the tech that gave you fire...
What if they build a dock, build a transport ship, and transport units across a few at a time? You'd only have literal minutes to respond. Best to preemptively wall just in case.
@@bluedistortions I was thinking that you could just wall it if you discover that the enemy is building a dock there, but I guess the wall could be denied by archers.
Am I the only one triggered by the fact that, at around 20:00, there's "3rd blood" and yet it still shows Birdseed with "1/1" K/D but Tboss has "1/2" K/D? Why is Birdseed not showing "2/1" K/D?
T90 I don't know this is normal but I noticed that you got 30K views and 1.7M likes on this video. How is that possible, is that possible? I don't know please tell me if you notice.

It comes as no surprise, AOE2 is a timeless classic which will go on for many decades.
I played when age of empires Rome dropped
Cmon T90, that's a nice TC. Got Gold, Stone, Fish and Trees all 3(ish) tiles away!
Can't have high idle TC if you placed it on minute 10 ✅
Next lever.
@@AtlasJotunLever? Are you sure?
@@Dyanosis Yeah, just don't have the "NextLever" emoji on YT to go with it.
“The most trusted villager in the town.” Lol

Love the nostalgic stories T90.
i have grandkids attending university. T-90 getting nostalgic makes me smile. i'm 77.

It’s called “nomad” for a reason T90!
Clearly the thought put into the where to place the TC is what won them the game

I am 18 years old and was introduced to the game by my father when I was 3. I then reintroduced my father to DE in 2019
Coinage and heated shots are not about confusing techs, they are about the technology victory 😝
red getting archer armor upgrade in feudal with no archery range really connected with me on a deep level
Koreans get those automatically.
Its not like he researched it. Koreans get it for free
The for so many older players is for the year of release. We played up to windows Vista then it came a lot harder after to load on to windows 7-10.

I genuinely think birdseed was born in 1972. Bit slow to get ready and is respectful lol
Exactly how I played on my very first nomad today.

My first nomad I immediately plopped down a TC with one of my vils, wasn't even a good location, took him ages to build it. I lost in the end

Imagine having the ress for almost 30 more trebs but not the pop space but well, 4 trebs should be enough for this enemy.
T90 being a big Nickelback fan makes a lot of sense to me
Whats better than winning? Winning with money in the bank! Thats efficiency T90!
Insane for 600 elo. All blacksmith tech. 100+ vills. 4 trebs against the castle
A Fuel FAN!!! Such respect man. Ever listen to Our Lady Peace?
Missed opportunity to have a map that has turkeys.
Dang, that's a good point. Hopefully you get some likes and your idea gets shuffled to the top of the heap where Tristan can see it.
Great comeback from blue

Tboss thought he was Moses
t90 ill stay with you until were old and remember the days youtube was a thing
Great video!
90s energy 🎉❤
cant have tc idle time if you dont have tc
Gotta end the game with highest tech!
Tboss actually had a way better tc positioning and I agree with that

Didn't even start the video, i'm rooting for blue because of the name!!
.. they swoop down and they bite and nip my horse!
Did he stop hosting community games? Haven't seen an upload in weeks

Finally those small maps are over with.
more of this again))

Get him a key.
I started at 6
dont worry t90 7 years ago your viewers who are 25 were 18. people just need to mature a bit to like AOE. in time all the people will come to t90
25:49 I m 20 those of my age don’t know what good games are. Fortnight trash all of them.

More game talk less stream talk lol
