This song was deliberately low key. Nothing like this sound was happening at the time in the K-pop world. It wasn't high energy and bubble gum for a debut. They came in serious and showed a little peek of their skills then walked off stage (which Melaysha skipped). People were like WTF was that?
@@Melayshaaa not saying u did wrong, I get it, you got spoiled hearing their later work which is so much more engaging than their debut but back then Tippy Toes and Mascara was intentionally low key because they were introductions to something different to an industry where pure English songs wasn't common on a Korean platform industry. The fact the girls were all Japanese was an issue also. XG didn't really get noticed until people found their pre-debut songs which were cover songs and beats from the Vox and Tapes series. There's also a moves series and the first video had these girls faces hidden taking advantage of the covid masks trend while making people think these dancers were a mystery not even realizing these dancers are XG!

i saw xg at their concert in atl last wednesday and they are SO UNREAL. these girls just ooze talent, personality, and hard work. if you get invested enough in them, i highly recommend watching their docuseries on youtube. it follows them since the very beginning when the project started with 40+ trainees in 2017 all the way to their debut in 2022. the effort that these women and their ceo/producer simon/jakops put into this project is unmatched. this group really is a passion project. and i've never seen a group who loves their ceo as much as xg loves simon. they act like a family with him. i seriously love this group and i'm so glad i got to see them absolutely EAT at their first world tour!!
GRL GVNG is actually longer but their producer made the music video shorter and saved the full version of the song for the album release that happened not too long after the video dropped. There is also an ASL video they made after they got a letter from a hearing impaired fan.
Undefeated is actually a collab with a video game company, Riot, who developed League of Legends and Valorant. They put together a group called K/D/A to make a song for League of Legends, Undefeated is the song they got XG to do for Valorant.
@@Melayshaaa It's more of a departure from their other work. They kept their sound but also injected some K-popish elements in it for the game tournament event in Korea. Frankly, this song could fit in any sport event playing in the background to hype up the crowd IMO.
The white space with flowers was just a set, but it is supposed to be the inside of their spaceship, and you’ve technically already seen it because they had a similar space but larger in Winter Without You, where the lit tree was. But New Dance was our first introduction to it

Dam, you're plowing through this like butter. You should take these MVs in because there is a theme and back story to this group that's fun and creative. Undefeated is possibly the closest to K-Pop you will ever hear from XG because they refused to be boxed into one genre. Tippy Toes was a warning shot to the K-pop industry that they are going to be a problem. Grl Gvng was saying they aren't playing around and you better step. New dance was their summer jam of 2023 welcoming Alphaz to their barbecue. SAR is their summer jam of 2024 flexing their powers and possibly their most complex choreography they ever attempted while singing. I don't think you realize yet, everything you see them do in the music video they do it live and make it look easy. They're not playing around.

The "Something aint right" m/v is rly connected to their concept, of them being aliens who will take over the global music industry (u'll see that this concept is a recurring theme in almost all their m/v's). In this particular one, they arrived on Earth & they're trying to blend in , but not rly succeeding, obviously (hence, the song title - ""Something ain't right"). Each of them has different superpowers: Harvey - the starting one, is floating, so she can make objects float; Hinata - in the starting scene, she is in the background , for a split second, being rly big, and in 1 of the dance scenes she becomes rly small, adn after that rly huge - so she can shrink or enlarge at will; Cocona - the baldie - has smthg akin to matter/gravity manipulation (u''ll notice some debris & things floating around her in the 1st scene & in the elevator scene, after she looks back at the dude filming her, he starts inflating); Chisa- the one with orange twin tails - her eyes sparked in the 1st scene & in the office scene she types superfast - probably smthg like super speed & super intelligence; Juria- the one that disappears into thin air , in the 1st scene, she has teleporting powers (and in the 2nd scene, in the parking lot, she materializes out of thin air, driving her car); Maya- with blue hair and crazy blue eye make up - she has mind control abilities, hence the people behind her moving like puppets/zombies or following her every move (in the grocery store scene); Jurin - the one with short red hair (the leader), has time control abilities (everything around her is either sped up- in the 1st scene - or is freezed still - in the parking lot scene.

Something that really differentiates the Kpop genre is how much content we get for each release. There is so much footage that covers such a wide range. You get to really see the process, their journey and individual personalities which is not common at all in western music. They have vlogs, behind the scenes, game/variety/reality shows, etc. Skim through the playlists on XG's channel: XTRA XTRA = XG Documentary Series (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) XTRA XG = More casual but still focuses more on behind the scenes type stuff XG Behind the Scenes = Quick snippets of behind the scenes XG Days = Vlogs
I understand why Tippy Toes you didn't love so much, because they have some other good songs, but at least you should've finished watching the mv, i love it because with that song i fell in love with XG, so is in my top 5 favorite songs of XG. The best colab so far is Jurin with Le Sserafim and Ciara/ Wang remix. Only reason Undefeated worked is because they tied XG flexing to winning the game. Also, it's impossible for them to make a bad song even for a soundtrack.

docu series is prime eating for Alphaz are you even KIDDING! do it (please).also the concept for Something Ain't Right is quite different from the surface "cheating" theme. you could take it at face value but the actual theme is that (if you haven't read or seen by now) is XG are a group of Aliens traveling from planet to planet with a message of hope, love and drive to be the best. also the theme of a Wolf Pack is very strong in their visuals, that's why we are called Alphaz cause the lead of the wolf pack is an Alpha. Going back to Something Ain't Right theme: as aliens they have shifted from their true form to blend into society but their unique powers are glitching and revealing that they are different. so the girls are singing to each other about something not being right. it's a very lighthearted theme. thank you for another big react it was very enjoyable. maybe take a break from the official songs and dive into Tapes and Vox? they are covers and Raps over sampled beats and show a lot about their inspiration for music as well as individual talents for each member. you will get to know their names too which for me is something that brings the reactor to another level. being able to see you call out each member by name is gonna be so enjoyable. keep it going Melaysha thanks again!!!

These showcases is kinda like a loveletter to the world sayin, "Oh we barely showed what we can do." kinda thing) XG Tape 2: XGALZ XYPHER - prolly what catapulted XG to the international stage, a legendary cypher that showcased the rappers of the group. XG Tape 3A and 3B - proper homage to those that came first. XG Vox: Vocal Showcase - what's a pop group that can't sing XG Vox #5 - XGLEE CLUB - another homage, but showing how committed they are to the international music scene. They are here to slay and stay lol when I first heard it I didn’t pay them any too much mind say with the second song but then the dropped SHOOTING STAR (which by the way is their debut single while tippy toes and mascara are pre-debut singles) SS got me obsessed with them chisa caught my eye first in the pre chorus it was her hair they caught me off guard it was so fire over time maya chisa and hinata have become my favorites but the all are in each others level so I love them all

M/V's are all great, but their Wish Bus performances and Dance Practices are 🔥🔥. If I had to pick my 3 favorite groups now, I'd have one for every category. XG for XPop, Bini for Ppop, and Babymonster for KPop. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

They literally learned enough Sign Language to be able to perform 'Girl Gang' for a deaf audience, so they have that video on their channel as well. I love this group for so many reasons but I think the most important one is that they LOVE their fans and everybody else, too. They are GOOD people and GOOD people fully deserve to succeed. They really do try their best to do EVERYTHING, to have something that everybody can appreciate.

i saw xg at their concert in atl last wednesday and they are SO UNREAL. these girls just ooze talent, personality, and hard work. if you get invested enough in them, i highly recommend watching their docuseries on youtube. it follows them since the very beginning when the project started with 40+ trainees in 2017 all the way to their debut in 2022. the effort that these women and their ceo/producer simon/jakops put into this project is unmatched. this group really is a passion project. and i've never seen a group who loves their ceo as much as xg loves simon. they act like a family with him. i seriously love this group and i'm so glad i got to see them absolutely EAT at their first world tour!!
GRL GVNG is actually longer but their producer made the music video shorter and saved the full version of the song for the album release that happened not too long after the video dropped. There is also an ASL video they made after they got a letter from a hearing impaired fan.

Dam, you're plowing through this like butter. You should take these MVs in because there is a theme and back story to this group that's fun and creative. Undefeated is possibly the closest to K-Pop you will ever hear from XG because they refused to be boxed into one genre. Tippy Toes was a warning shot to the K-pop industry that they are going to be a problem. Grl Gvng was saying they aren't playing around and you better step. New dance was their summer jam of 2023 welcoming Alphaz to their barbecue. SAR is their summer jam of 2024 flexing their powers and possibly their most complex choreography they ever attempted while singing. I don't think you realize yet, everything you see them do in the music video they do it live and make it look easy. They're not playing around.

The "Something aint right" m/v is rly connected to their concept, of them being aliens who will take over the global music industry (u'll see that this concept is a recurring theme in almost all their m/v's). In this particular one, they arrived on Earth & they're trying to blend in , but not rly succeeding, obviously (hence, the song title - ""Something ain't right"). Each of them has different superpowers:
Harvey - the starting one, is floating, so she can make objects float;
Hinata - in the starting scene, she is in the background , for a split second, being rly big, and in 1 of the dance scenes she becomes rly small, adn after that rly huge - so she can shrink or enlarge at will;
Cocona - the baldie - has smthg akin to matter/gravity manipulation (u''ll notice some debris & things floating around her in the 1st scene & in the elevator scene, after she looks back at the dude filming her, he starts inflating);

The best colab so far is Jurin with Le Sserafim and Ciara/ Wang remix. Only reason Undefeated worked is because they tied XG flexing to winning the game. Also, it's impossible for them to make a bad song even for a soundtrack.

docu series is prime eating for Alphaz are you even KIDDING! do it (please).also the concept for Something Ain't Right is quite different from the surface "cheating" theme. you could take it at face value but the actual theme is that (if you haven't read or seen by now) is XG are a group of Aliens traveling from planet to planet with a message of hope, love and drive to be the best. also the theme of a Wolf Pack is very strong in their visuals, that's why we are called Alphaz cause the lead of the wolf pack is an Alpha. Going back to Something Ain't Right theme: as aliens they have shifted from their true form to blend into society but their unique powers are glitching and revealing that they are different. so the girls are singing to each other about something not being right. it's a very lighthearted theme. thank you for another big react it was very enjoyable. maybe take a break from the official songs and dive into Tapes and Vox? they are covers and Raps over sampled beats and show a lot about their inspiration for music as well as individual talents for each member. you will get to know their names too which for me is something that brings the reactor to another level. being able to see you call out each member by name is gonna be so enjoyable. keep it going Melaysha thanks again!!!

@Melayshaaa Just a little background on Bini, they are Filipino girl group formed in 2019. Like someone said in another comment, there are no skips with Bini! M/V's are all great, but their Wish Bus performances and Dance Practices are 🔥🔥. If I had to pick my 3 favorite groups now, I'd have one for every category. XG for XPop, Bini for Ppop, and Babymonster for KPop. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

@@Melayshaaa Plus, this group does their very best to be as inclusive for ALL people as possible. They literally learned enough Sign Language to be able to perform 'Girl Gang' for a deaf audience, so they have that video on their channel as well.
I love this group for so many reasons but I think the most important one is that they LOVE their fans and everybody else, too. They are GOOD people and GOOD people fully deserve to succeed. They really do try their best to do EVERYTHING, to have something that everybody can appreciate.
