      Because they know Lebron won't come remotely close to achieving what Jordan achieved: 6-0 NBA Finals record.
      Jordan never asked for super teams and he did it playing in Chicago.

    Riley was not kidding when he said , when MJ was playing, that every team needed to kick in on Jordan's salary.
    He also was not kidding when he said every team needed to retire his jersey as well.
    And he wasn't wrong.

    0:07 This was probaly the clip where Isiah Thomas said that Michael Jordan made NBA players wealthy. And Thomas tries to say the same for LeBrom James, but the ratings plummeted during the LeBron James era. The money is more now because the NBA built on-top of the Michael Jordan era, which brought lucrative domestic and international tv, commercials, and streaming contracts.

    Sometimes i feel like the NBA should take a percentage from their profits and pay their hall of fame players for life. Stop giving out massive contracts to superstar players that are load managing or haven't even won championship. Reward your hall of famers. That way everybody would want to play hard and want to work towards being a hall of famer so they can recieve that pay for life perk.

    • @TheRealMindCrime

    4:26 Well Hakeem Olajuwon is a Top-5 to Top-7 NBA center....so drafting him #1 overall in 1984 actually made sense. But if you want to really drive home the fact that the NBA was pro-Big man and anti-Guard/anti-Small man, in terms of being the main focus of a NBA team, then don't forget that a forgettable Center by the name of Sam Bowie was drafted #2 overall in the 1984 draft, before The GOAT - Michael Jordan. Hakeem Olajuwon was good, regardless of his position, but Sam Bowie was just a Center/big-man, so they even drafted him ahead of the greatest pro-athlete to ever touch a basketball. When folks say that Hakeem Olajuwon was drafted ahead of Michael Jordan, only because he was a Center, that's not true because Olajuwon had game and he's a Top-5 to Top-7 NBA Center all-time. Now Sam Bowie on the otherhand.....yes he was drafted ahead of His Airness only because he was a Center and the NBA valued big men over smaller men, at that time.

    • @TheRealMindCrime
      @TheRealMindCrime  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Absolutely. Hakeem made perfect sense and they got their rings from that too. They picked a good one lol

    As an Australian, it was somewhat trendy to own Air Jordan shoes when I was playing competitive basketball, late '80s into the '90s.
    I owned 3x pairs of Jordan's while I was playing, all of which were worn out on the court...
    I personally didn't buy$ them because it was trendy. I bought them because it helped me & suited my fit! I had developed spurs in my ankles, shin splints & had also suffered stress fractures in my feet. Jordan's made it more comfortable for me to continue to play competitive basketball.
    Prior to Jordan's, I had tried Puma, Adidas and many others.
    Nike was my fit. From memory I had white Jordan 7's, white Jordan 9's & black Jordan 11's...
    I think I may still have a couple pairs that I can salvage/repair as worn out "keep sakes"...
    Yes, in the day it cost a few quid $$$ to buy them. But, I worked & saved to wear them.
    If I didn't start wearing the Nike's I would have been more crippled up than what I am today

    This is my opinion, and most here would disagree, but when people say that MJ had no flaws in his game, I have to disagree. He did have 1 flaw and it's not being a good team player, that is, until Phil Jackson took over as head coach. Going by "The Last Dance" Netflix series, PJ was the assistant coach to Doug Collins, and Phil was collaborating with Tex Winter in the "Triangle" philosophy. For two years he tried to help Collins understand the significance of the offense but Collins didn't want to hear it, he was more focused on MJ's talents and his style of play. During that time, MJ didn't trust his teammates so he put all the burden on his shoulders and felt the Bulls could win with this strategy.
    Once Collins was let go and Phil took over, in the 89-90 season, he installed the Triangle offense and told MJ to start trusting more on his team, thereby, improving their performances and taking a lot of the load off of MJ's shoulders. Up to this point, the Bad-Boy Pistons, along with their "Jordan Rules," were the only thing preventing the Bulls from moving forward. Yeah, MJ got more aggressive and started weight training, but it was Phil and the Triangle that had more of an impact with the team's turnaround in 91 which led to their first championship.
    Had Doug Collins listened to Phil and Tex, and installed the Triangle in the late '80s, it's possible that the Bulls could've won their 1st ring between the '87 and '88 seasons. It's these two seasons when MJ had his best performance and Pippen/Grant were starting to show signs of All-Star talent.
    This is my opinion, please don't be too judgemental about😏 my comments, thank you.

    • @TheRealMindCrime
      @TheRealMindCrime  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I don't think it's too contraversial lol. That was part of his journey and for the majority of his career he had Phil and was a good team player. When I think of a players flaws I think of something that the player was never able to overcome. Like Shaq's free throws, Lebrons free throws and defense, Nash's defense, etc. But MJ was able to overcome this flaw which to me eliminates it outside of the historic reasons to tell the full story.

    • @Tippotipo
      @Tippotipo 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Actually MJ was a a good team player as long teammate know their roles and jobs. Let remind Dean Smith made MJ as a PG hence the often underrated passes (there is a footage of MJ mentioning how the league put too much emphasis on his scoring instead of his other part like passes and defence) but the Bulls needed a SG. The problem MJ had to deal were his own teammate performing subpar especially on his first years with the Bulls. It takes years to get such team (which failed to make the playoff three times in row as one of the worst prior the draft) to perform better with years to trades and rebuilding. Let remind how he did with a good team like 84 Olympic team defeating NBA All-Stars eight times. Let remind of Bobby Knight wanted MJ to get in Portland Trail Blazer with Clyde Drexler, imagine what both would do.

    • @kennwashi4093
      @kennwashi4093 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You are correct and I may have misspoke, thank you for your feedback.
      He was a good team player in college, under Smith, a good teammate under his first two coaches as a Bull, and became a great team player under Phil Jackson, it's my understanding that Doug Collins wanted the Bulls to play an ISO style of basketball with the ball being in MJs hands most of the time. So I retract what I said earlier and reinstate MJ not being a good team player under Doug Collins. Above all, MJ respected his coaches and followed their playing styles, and with this said, MJ not being a good team player during the Collins years, was not his mentality but out of respect to the coach.
      JMHO.

      @TheRealMindCrime I meant no disrespect toward you or anyone here, I like you and love your channel.
      I love how you handle yourself on your channel. You're calm, precise with your comments, and well-spoken, all of which I envy and strive to be.
      Along with my Tourette's Syndrome, I'm also Bipolar, OCD, ADHD, and Social Anxiety Disorder. Because of my condition, I became Agoraphobic as I tend to stay away from social media and rarely get out of my house, only once every two weeks for necessities.
      As part of my treatment/therapy, my doctor suggests that I try going to places with small crowds and work my way up to bigger ones, especially with people who have similar conditions. As for social media, she suggests posting comments on media groups such as YT, as a means of therapy and practice on my speech patterns.
      I probably should have stated my condition before any comments, I apologize for not doing this.🙁
      In my mind, the comments I make are positive and I use them to add more info on the video's subject and possibly to clarify some points within the videos. But because I'm unable to filter what I want to say, they can, and often, become offensive and disrespectful, and for this, I'm sorry.
      I love your channel and would like to continue my subscription, but if you feel I need to leave or cease making comments, I will oblige and understand.🤭🥺
      Thank you, and best regards to you and your channel.

    I always wondered how he felt about Portland taking Bowie over him, because he played in Portland 1984 regular season, rookie year, and was gliding around like a veteran (sorry Clyde). He repeatedly torched the Blazers over the years even post Clyde era. I vividly remember the '92 finals and damn, dude you gotta cover the regular season game in Portland when Chicago came in, 92-93 season. Even after beating Portland in the finals, Jordan was on a level that was mesmerizing. Blazers were going downhill pretty quick at this point, but my god he just embarrassed Clyde and Portland

    The way I see it, Dr. J brought Rucker Park play to the league, fundamentally changing how athletes play the game. Michael Jordan was the best and most finely tuned version of that type of basketball. I think we owe Dr. J equally as much as we do Jordan, but the NBA doesn't want anything to do with admiring ABA stars.
    Then Kobe emulated Jordan specifically, though I think Iverson was the actual next iteration of Rucker Park. Kyrie is absolutely keeping that alive still, but it's not the focus of the league anymore. (A shame in my opinion).
    The league is just moving away from Park Ball and trying too damn hard to optimize shots via analytics. Either 3pt line or layup is all teams want to do.
    I just can't imagine going to the park and avoiding 1 on 1 play and jacking up 50 3's a game. You'd get punched in the face.
    *many more players in the league emulate Rucker Park play for sure in 90s, 00s, 10s,, just shouting out some the most prominent of their time.

    Ill agree that parish wasnt a dominating Center, especially compared to the ones that did dominate, Larry should be credited as kinda ducking the thing at the time.about winning with a dominating center, Jordan gets the nod though, (funny that he played with parish too lol) because not only was he a guard, Celtics, especially the 85/86 team, are always looked FIRST as a great team, then the players, Jordan was the team no questions asked. So looking thru those lens, Jordan accomplishment seems more impactful because he started greatness as oppose to Bird.... who was continuing already established greatness of the Celtics and he was 6'10, (he is a dog at any height but for clarity sake) Celtics prestige is a double edge sword because we look at all their great players as being apart of a lineage and that will also be credited more than any individual accomplishments. Its affecting Tatum, he can win 3 more titles, we will look at him as apart of that lineage more than himself as a basketball player. Hopefully this makes sense lol.

      @TheRealMindCrime yes, truly setting a new way of winning in the NBA. But influence goes both ways, Lebron has shown a new way of winning too, just not in respect to the game of basketball. he did so much but he is now also a curse to the NBA. Owners are now all looking for the next MJ and the rules have been changed so any offensive juggernaut can look better than they are. Even Luka said its easy to score in the NBA.

    Kmart sold fake white Jordan's. I used leather dye to turn them black. I was a poor kid.

    The money has ruined everything in sports. It's just disgusting and has turned me off completetly. Then throw in the anti usa stuff. just gross. i hope it all fails and something better and fun takes it's place. Just my extraordinarily uneducated opinion

      I definitely wanna see a new league coming in to challenge the NBA. That will force them to make some changes and listen to us fans about how to improve the product

      @@TheRealMindCrime hopefully within the next few years they will lose enough money to be forced to naturally make big changes. In both personnel and attitude/persona. I feel like the next generation of players need to be more disciplined and just better at the sport than a lot of the last gen. Even the ‘superstars’ of the last 15 years, outside a few, have sukked and I think the league is finally seeing a good enough decline for it to matter. I hope…
      Either way keep up the videos mane! I’m here with u and appreciate views from actual fans. I can’t watch espn or anything on tv anymore

    Unfortunately things have gotten out out hand, we have spoiled players that don't play nearly as hard as they did even 15 years ago. This is showing in the ratings...I bet if salaries start getting cut back or of there was some kind of incentive based play we would see a much better league.

      100% the only way things will change is if there is a risk to make less money. This is why voting with our wallets is really important. The only money the NBA makes from me these days is if they claim one of my videos lol
