    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks, not much idea as I don't sell but it depends on what dry fruits were used. Since I used expensive ones like cranberries, black raisins etc this should be between 800-1K maybe 🤔

    Please guide if made with 2 large cups of flour at the same time , will all the ingredients get doubled?

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, definitely But please weigh all the ingredients in grams using a weighing scale to get perfect results as when we use measuring cups we tend to put either more or less resulting in a wrong texture

    I made it last week after seeing an old video. Thank you for sharing this.. its 100% better than any plum cake i had. Blog was helpful to double check the recipe when needed. Stored it for a week by adding rum. And most toughest part was to hide it from kids 😂. Can i store it for more days without adding more rum? I want to keep it for 2,3 weeks

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I'm glad you enjoyed it! I would recommend brushing with rum once a week for a longer storage time to prevent it from drying out. Maybe keep it refrigerated just to be safe.

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, you can use oil instead of butter, but it might change the texture a bit.

  • @litty839
    @litty839 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Can we avoid oil and use butter instead?

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes you can,1 Tablespoon oil was added to make the cake moist as cocoa powder tends to make it dry

  • @naeemamohammed7589

    If the cake it already too moist, should i still feed it with the juices on top, will it make it soggy or too moist ?

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Brushing the cake with Rum helps to preserve the Cake for a long time but you can skip this if you don't want to. Cake should not be too moist if followed all the measurements using a weighing scale in grams

    Instead brown sugar, how much white sugar can i use?

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You can use same amount 3/4 Cup | 150g

  • @naeemamohammed7589

    Also can i use 5 inch tin round for exact half recipe? Will loaf tin work for this recipe ??
    Baked half recipe twice..got around 350g cake each time.... i used 6 and 5 inch pan , i got a thin cake both times

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I used a 6 inch tin for this recipe, so if you use the same recipe for a 5 inch tin without halfing you will get more height but dividing into half will result in thin cake as less batter. If you need more height you need to put more batter. You can check out my 1 Kg Plum Cake Recipe if you need a bigger cake th-cam.com/video/8Aeo-Ne9Eg0/w-d-xo.html

    The cake taste amazing, my only issue is the fruits still sink to the bottom.... too much moisture in the fruit or should i coat with abit of flour?

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Place the fruits halfway through the baking once the top looks almost set as shown in the video. I have tried coating with flour but they will still be half immersed on top

    Can i soak the nuts in orange juice rather than rum ?

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes you can but do not soak more than a Day as orange juice spoils fast. Also after baking, keep the cake refrigerated airtight if not serving within two three days.

    Hi how to store it and what is the shelf life for this

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Storing instructions are shown in the video from 8:29 Due to alcohol, it has a long shelf life. Feed with the strained juices from the soaked dry fruits or Rum every once a week, lasts several months. I usually keep it at room temperature for a day to soak the rum and then refrigerated airtight.

    Why do you bake first for 50mins first and then for 45mins again when the tooth pick comes out clean in the very first 50mins ??

    • @theartisticcook
      @theartisticcook  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I Baked @180C for 1 hour plus 10-15 mins i.e Total time only 70-75 mins. After 20 mins of Baking I pull it out to place the nuts on top and again continue baking till baked. Pls note baking time can vary based on your tin size or material used.
