Hi guys!! Sure, here are my tips for the next gym: 1- pray. That's it. Best of luck!! (on the reals i think that gym leader is a lil too strong in current release cuz of the seed changes; has been dialed back a small bit for E18)
That's what I used at least Magnitude Donphan worked wonders for me as well as my Pikachu for the Skrelp and my Skuntank to wall the Poison moves, pretty easy gym with the right mons on your team honestly.
A couple of encounters in an area you haven't got yet, some powerful, some not so much but still good to just have in the PC. If you go into the alleyway (enter Obsidia ward from Opal ward and walk along the bottom edge of the buildings, you'll see it as well as a cut tree) you can find a couple of trainers as well as some static encounters (If memory serves the alleyway counts as its own area so you could get a random encounter too). You will see a Litleo at the back of the alley that you can interact with, it will run off once you do. Once it has go to the building that takes you to the railnet (go left from the pokemon center and then up past the house where you can get Castform, its that small one) and follow it down the stairs. Once down there you will trigger an event where you have to battle a level 35 Klinklang (which you cant catch), if you beat it you can obtain the Litleo. Back in the alleyway (bring pokesnax with you) there is a small area on the left side wall (not by the entrance, up near where the Litleo was, go into that are (may need to interact with the wall) and you can get a plusle or minun. At night in the alley you can find an Electrike being attacked by 2 level 25 Mightyena (nonn-catchable) beat them and Electrike will want to join, BUT will disappear for good if you refuse. It will come with a random egg move(either Flame Burst, Crunch or Ice Fang) Also, if you take the Glameow to be checked by the lady on the right inside the Central Obsidia Salon she will battle you after some dialogue, she has a Tsareena level 45 so it may be a while till you can do this but your reward for beating her is a Bounsweet with Synthesis and Play Rough.
Heres the field effect for the forth gym: (Its the forest field but its a double battle and she spams rain dance and favors special sweepers) Effect Spore's activation chance is doubled to 60% Activates Overgrow, Swarm, Grass Pelt and Leaf Guard Grass and special Bug moves increase in base power x1.5 Long Reach Pokemon suffer a x0.9 accuracy loss Strength Sap heals 30% more HP Infestation deals 1/6 Max HP damage per turn (from 1/8) These moves increase in base power x1.5: Attack Order These moves deal additional Grass type damage and increase power x2: Cut These moves suffer a x0.5 decrease of power: Surf Muddy Water Forest's Curse additionally Curses the target Sap Sipper gradually restores HP Ingrain's healing effect is doubled The stat changing effect of these moves is amplified: Growth Defend Order Heal Order restores 66% of the user's Max HP (from 50%) Sticky Web's effect is doubled. Yah the forest gym is hard because it is a double battle, the only reason i won is cause i spammed x items on swalot. That was the closest i have been to ending my nuzlocke
Octillery, Nappy you are set for your water type, I used Octillery during my first playthrough and its 105/105 offences with insane coverage moves the point of it getting outclassed is by a Swampert. It will function everywhere but double battles, where it just gets doubled down due to its speed. Pick up the ring in Corey's room in the gym after the family friendly harmless show at the bridge, it will enable some more static encounters.
sᏆᎾᏒm7uᏒᏦ in reborn, octilery is god, especially in trick room teams. Lso, trick room teams in reborn are better then normal games thanks to extended rock, an item that adds, like, 5 more turns for trick room.

I've noticed that Twit specifically seems to forget Abilities exist lol. He also doesn't process that attacks are happening [Cradily's Recover = How many Super Potions does she have?! lol]. It's all good though. They get through it one way or another lmfao
Watch out for the next gym in Shelly. She is a Bug Type Leader,who uses the Forest Field and Rain to Buff her Bug Types,and is a Double Battle. Her Team is terrifying
I've been playing along and got to Shelly last night. Ampharos saved me just like it did for these guys here. Once the Masquerain was gone, I set up the Electric Terrain, took my Frogadier with Protean Smack Down (boosted in ET!) and ran house on her team while Ampharos tanked hits. It took a couple of tries, though.
haha, wow! i had so much trouble with her gym. 4 out of 6 pokemon in my team was fighting type so she spammed that fairy move she had and air cutter. i tried to set up the burning field but my bewear had fluffy. basically, i somehow cruised through it with minimal death after like the 10th try.
Bruh, I was about to ask why they were in the same town for 15 episodes, then I realized that this game doesn't have towns, they have wards in one big ass city/region.
I deadass had this idea for how you can do a Pokemon go nuzlocke. A real time city will be considered an area, and you travel across the country. Dunno what the ultimate goal will be but maybe an expert at the game can find out.
TO THE PENTAOP --> SOME ENCOUNTERS: -If you unlock all of the warehouses, you can unlock breeding. When you find the daycare couple, go to the southern-right-most warehouse where a grunt is. Talk to him and he will leave. However, there is a happiny along the path in the warehouse. If you interact with it, you can take it. Also, in the warehouse next to the happiny warehouse, there will be a spoink. Only if you saw it on a clear day in the obsidia ward will you be able to find it. To find it, interact with all of the boxes and you will eventually find it. Then you can catch it. -Breed the Growlithe. If you do, grab the egg and talk to the police officer standing behind the encounter. He will complain and whine. Then talk to the man beneath him. He will trade you an egg for the Growlithe egg. There are 20 different eggs you can get from this trade including: axew, larvesta, gastly, elekid, sneasel, starly, staryu, phantump, shroomish, tentacool, vulpix, marill, drilbur, pawniard and six more I don't know of. -When it is WINDY, there will be a child being attacked at the end of beryl bridge. By interacting with the pokemon you can get a drifloon. The sidequest will continue if you go back down to Jasper ward and find the boy surrounded by scolipede and venipede. Fight them and go into a house across an alley next to the railroad tracks. The woman will give you a department sticker in doing so. -When you beat Corey (the next gym leader), there will be a Corey on top of the roof in Beryl Ward. Chase the Corey who will be hiding in a bunch of alleys. Once you cannot find him in the alleys he will be in a room next to the Magma Gang (in north obsidia ward to the right). If you interact with it one more time you will encounter a zorua. -When you beat corey and it is SUNNY, you can find a helioptile on the rooftop in the Beryl Ward. If you have a pokesnak you can take it. -When it is SUNNY, there will be a petilil in the obsidia garden (where the first tangrowth was at). If you have a pokesnak, you can take it. -If you go back to the library, there is a gothitelle asking you to clean away the debris in the library. After doing so and talking back to the gothitelle, the right-most gothita will ask to join your party if you interact with it. -The gothitelle will give you a soul candle. This item can be repurchased at a later point in the game. If you have beaten corey and interact with one of the pumpkins in the cemetery (its a specific one but interact with all of them to be sure), it should create a pumpkaboo for you to catch (not actually sure, correct if i am wrong). -There is a plusle and minun encounter in the south alley in obsidia. A crevice near a bunch of boxes will pop out a minun when you walk over to it. You need a pokesnak to get it. In the southern obsidia alley, there are two encounters. One is at night where you will find a elektrike getting ganged up by mightyena. Fight the mightyena and you get elektrike. If you go there in the day time there will be a litleo eating. talk to it and it will flee. If you go to the house next to the castform-trade girl's house, litleo will be there and flee below. If you follow, you fight a lvl 35 BANG BANG (aka klinklang). If you defeat it litleo will follow you. Not sure if these are all the encounters available but comment below if anything needs to be added. Also, another helpful tip, don't buy super potions, buy choc ice creams in the candy shop. They heal for 70 instead of 50 and cost just the same. Also, until you reach a circus, the best healing item you will get is the berry ice cream in the candy shop ice cream vending machine. If you want to survive, YOU SHOULD BUY THEM.
Side Note: Corey's Gym changes depending on if you finished the police quest before or after defeating Pulse Tangrowth. If you did, Corey gets revealed as a Meteor Agent in front of Heather, instead of her just flying off. The cops follow Corey to his Gym, but they get hypnotized by a strange mist, basically making them the Gym trainers. Also, the Police Chief gives you the Field Effect Read-Out on the Corrosive Mist field. That's because Corey battles on that field in this route. There are also minor changes to his gym battle, like his Sashed-Skrelp is the only item he has on a mon, he only has one super potion, and his Crobat has nasty plot instead of roost. Ame's dialogue is also changes to give info on the Corrosive Mist field instead of the Corrosive field

Tip of the episode: Some times fighting fire with fire is better than with water (try to use mons that might also gain a boost from the field like your opponent, it help me sweep this gym with a trubbish and a lot of ice cream)
*ENCOUNTERS PER WARD* *OBSIDIA WARD* -During the DAY and when it's SUNNY, there's a *Petilil* in the Obsidia Park, and will join if you have PokeSnax -At NIGHT, go to the back alley in Obsidia. You'll find some Mightyenas attacking an *Electrike* . Defeat them and it will join you -In the same alleyway, you can obtain either a *Plusle* or a *Minun* hiding behind a pillar, ONLY if you have PokeSnax *SLUMS* -In the SLUMS, you can find an *Egg* in a basket. It will be randomized to either *Drowzee* , *Bronzor* or *Ducklett* . The egg is accessible by passing through the first room of ledge puzzles, through the two holes in the walls, and through another big ledge puzzle -For those who didn’t get it, there are *Hoppips* outside the slums during WINDY days *CORAL WARD* -When it's RAINING, there's a *Lotad* -After encountering the *Spoink* in the Obsidia Ward on a clear DAY (some of you have), it will run to one of the warehouses in Coral Ward. It's hiding in one of the boxes *ONYX WARD* -After beating Florinia, in one of the buildings, a blond male student will apologize for following Fern's orders and battling you. He'll give you access to the elevator behind him and you can reach the roof. There's grass on the roof and you can get an encounter for Onyx Ward. On CLEAR days, if you have a Pokesnax, a Pichu will be hiding behind a tree and you can catch it -In the third room of the second floor of the Trainers’ School is a glitchy computer. Once you obtain a *Data Chip* (obtainable after the 3rd Badge, in the Orphanage), go back to the computer and put the Data Chip inside. It will summon a *Porygon* *BERYL WARD* -During SUNNY weather, a *Helioptile* can be found on the roof of the hotel next to the PokéMart. It will join you if you have a PokeSnax. -At NIGHT, the grave just to the left of the graveyard's stairs can be read, which will summon a *Shuppet* -At NIGHT, if you have the *Soul Candle* (see the next entry), use it on a pumpkin to summon a *Pumpkaboo* . Its level varies depending on the pumpkin used. The pumpkin down the stairs at the far end has the highest level of 32 -In the Beryl Library (accessible through the Rhodocrine Jungle), after beating Corey, you find a Gothitelle and many Gothitas. Talk to the Gothitelle, who will ask you to clean the library of all the books and papers. After you clean everything, the Gothitelle will give you a *Soul Dandle* . Also, talk to one of the *Gothitas* and it will join you *ADVICE* -In the upper floor of the Trainer's School, talk to the youngster who's facing the wall and standing next to a tree. Talk to him FROM THE SIDE , and NOT from behind. An event will happen and you'll get access to the Desert Rose Field Notes. -In the Beryl Cave, above the graveyard, there’s a *Link Stone* hidden in a rock inside the cage you can use to evolve a Pokémon normally requiring trading. You can also get a new encounter there.
lol, I remember I was actually surprised the first time I saw that, but the second time, not so much, the kiki one is gonna be better tho, not gonna say why for those who haven't played through the game, but yeah, can't wait for the reactions
There is a litleo encounter that you guys are missing. It is found in the obsidian Ward. From the opal Ward to obsidian Ward award there should be a small pathway that leads into an alley.
bcs of a thing called observation although I do understand that they might not pay as much attention to the trainer AI as I do bcs they're also trying to look at each others screens and help each other but after an opponent switches out bcs of a -4 defense stat for the 30th time in a battle I expect some progress towards understanding the AI TBH the AI in this game is so easily manipulated bcs they wanted all trainers to have good AI so there's hardly any difference between a gym leader and a random trainer literally didn't have a problem after the 1st gym exactly because the AI is so readable and predictable the only hard part about the game is the terrains which is easily solvable if you read the the entries enough or make it really easy by having document with terrain changes next to you while playing bcs hey you already unlocked the entry anyway
i mean, i dont think i've ever lowered an AI's stat like that, while they were able to swap, so i dunno how i'm expected to know that also, why does that matter? lol
Now that you saved the day-care people and you all completed the police quest there is another police quest. You may have noticed that one of the Team Meteor grunts stole an officer's growlithe. Another dude wants you to help by getting a growlithe egg and giving him it. In exchange you will get 1 of 18 mons. Now if you have a female growlithe you can do this quest now if you have a mon in the Field egg group. Nappy's Monferno, Jay's Persian, Mo's Raticate, Nexus's Ursaring, Twit's glameow if male can all breed with it. Now if you have a male growlithe, you need to wait until you get Ditto, which may be a while. I only point this one out in particular cause there are some solid mons in there. I don't wanna spoil what is in the eggs until you hatch them but I will say that there are two members of the penta-op crew that would be in the words of Nexus be clapping their feet in joy if they got said mon. But all you have to do to start this quest is talk to the officer on the right side of the room who talks about how you got the growlithe and not him. And then the guy sitting south from him will ask you about it. Then you bring the guy who wants to help out the guy the egg and he'll get you the egg. * The second sidequest you haven't done. (At least to my knowledge) is back in the Obsidia Slums. Now in my opinion one of these mons I feel like can come in handy and has in my playthrough so far while the others may not be the greatest mon, but some of the penta-op crew needs mons compared to TheKingNappy aka the best Poketuber Nuzlocker. But enter the Obsidia Slums from the entrance. When you enter it'll be the room with 3 homeless people in it. There is a gate to the right of you with an egg on the other side, that is your end goal. Then you proceed through the next room going up the stairs. Then you go through the following room as there is only one way to go. From there you go in the hole on the side of the stairs. In that room there is a box blocking the path right in front of you as you enter. Interact with the box twice from the side. It'll let you know it can be pushed a side. Go through the room that was previously blocked. Go through that room and you will taken on the other side of the fence in the room where the egg is in the first room. I hope this helped. If they make it past shelly then they are kind of good for a bit until kiki (I believe kiki can be difficult). Soon though they will be able to start getting decent Pokemon like several starters such as squirtle and charmander. Fun fact: you can get an egg holding 1 of 16 pokemon in jasper if you give the lonely officer a growlithe egg and you can get a swinub and other good mons (eventual mamoswine) in citrine mountain which is the cave in front of the abandoned power plant.
Abyssreaper99 nah its a growlithe and he gives you some bomb ass mons. For one he can give a ghastly, larvesta or starly and some others but I accidentally missed it playing through
I very highly suggest that you get a rain dance mon on everyone’s team, ik it’s a nuzloke but it is almost required for the future. Unless you get lucky
I have to say Penta-Op playing reborn, is great, i got into Reborn just before E17 and am now eagerly waiting for E18, and was mightily disappointed when i saw very few people have made it to E17, most of the Reborn playlists in YT are many years old and no one has really bothered to play new Reborn episodes. I do think you need to change your Nuzlocke rules to be honest though, for Reborn and Rejuvenation i would change the rule to say you can catch every pokemon (or member of its evo group) ONCE and when it dies that evo group is removed from being played ever again, its still Nuz but more appropriate for Reborn style games. Other than that its great watching everyone play hopefully e18 will be available before you reach the end of the current episode.

I used to wonder how jay was getting rekt but just watching him battle it all makes sense. This dude had double kick but didnt use it on skuntank he went for regular potions when he should have gone to full and went for charge beam instead of thunder wave so he could outspeed with nidoking. Smh jay
Wait why does Jay have the shared box mod? And presumably the other convenience mods that come in the same package. I dont mind it, it eases the annoying parts like TMX's and weather issues and doesnt affect game balance for the most part.... but either all get it or none, imo. Unless he just named his deathbox "Shared Box", which I doubt.
It seems like he forgot to remove that one from the mod pack. they keep teaching their mons cut, so they dont have that one either. I think that Twit's is named shared box as well.

If you don't put in the effort lol. There are a ton of events that give you good mons, and even with the mediocre ones, you can use them just fine. The first time I played this game I swept the first Fighting leader with an Emolga and a Meowstic, so like...
Now u guys can get another egg, by breeding yours growlithe to get a growlithe egg and go back to police statation talk a police officer on the right coner and the officer below him to give the egg and receive another in trade. Mine was Elekid.
Click on a gravestone to get Shuppet and talk to a cop to give him a growlith egg in return he will give you a egg that can hatch into like 10 possible pokemon

I've been playing along and got to Shelly last night. Ampharos saved me just like it did for these guys here. Once the Masquerain was gone, I set up the Electric Terrain, took my Frogadier with Protean Smack Down (boosted in ET!) and ran house on her team while Ampharos tanked hits. It took a couple of tries, though.
I only managed to beat her with Metronome Smack Down Greninja,and Setting Rocks and Sticky Webs
haha, wow! i had so much trouble with her gym. 4 out of 6 pokemon in my team was fighting type so she spammed that fairy move she had and air cutter. i tried to set up the burning field but my bewear had fluffy. basically, i somehow cruised through it with minimal death after like the 10th try.
Bruh, I was about to ask why they were in the same town for 15 episodes, then I realized that this game doesn't have towns, they have wards in one big ass city/region.
LuigiBroMario later in the game there will be actual routes and more cities/towns. Keep in mind, this is a very long game.
You properly get out of the city (ignoring brief trips across the lake and into the wasteland) after the 5th badge.

TO THE PENTAOP --> SOME ENCOUNTERS:
-If you unlock all of the warehouses, you can unlock breeding. When you find the daycare couple, go to the southern-right-most warehouse where a grunt is. Talk to him and he will leave. However, there is a happiny along the path in the warehouse. If you interact with it, you can take it. Also, in the warehouse next to the happiny warehouse, there will be a spoink. Only if you saw it on a clear day in the obsidia ward will you be able to find it. To find it, interact with all of the boxes and you will eventually find it. Then you can catch it.
-Breed the Growlithe. If you do, grab the egg and talk to the police officer standing behind the encounter. He will complain and whine. Then talk to the man beneath him. He will trade you an egg for the Growlithe egg. There are 20 different eggs you can get from this trade including: axew, larvesta, gastly, elekid, sneasel, starly, staryu, phantump, shroomish, tentacool, vulpix, marill, drilbur, pawniard and six more I don't know of.
-When it is WINDY, there will be a child being attacked at the end of beryl bridge. By interacting with the pokemon you can get a drifloon. The sidequest will continue if you go back down to Jasper ward and find the boy surrounded by scolipede and venipede. Fight them and go into a house across an alley next to the railroad tracks. The woman will give you a department sticker in doing so.
-When you beat Corey (the next gym leader), there will be a Corey on top of the roof in Beryl Ward. Chase the Corey who will be hiding in a bunch of alleys. Once you cannot find him in the alleys he will be in a room next to the Magma Gang (in north obsidia ward to the right). If you interact with it one more time you will encounter a zorua.
-When you beat corey and it is SUNNY, you can find a helioptile on the rooftop in the Beryl Ward. If you have a pokesnak you can take it.
-When it is SUNNY, there will be a petilil in the obsidia garden (where the first tangrowth was at). If you have a pokesnak, you can take it.
-If you go back to the library, there is a gothitelle asking you to clean away the debris in the library. After doing so and talking back to the gothitelle, the right-most gothita will ask to join your party if you interact with it.
-The gothitelle will give you a soul candle. This item can be repurchased at a later point in the game. If you have beaten corey and interact with one of the pumpkins in the cemetery (its a specific one but interact with all of them to be sure), it should create a pumpkaboo for you to catch (not actually sure, correct if i am wrong).
-There is a plusle and minun encounter in the south alley in obsidia. A crevice near a bunch of boxes will pop out a minun when you walk over to it. You need a pokesnak to get it.
In the southern obsidia alley, there are two encounters. One is at night where you will find a elektrike getting ganged up by mightyena. Fight the mightyena and you get elektrike. If you go there in the day time there will be a litleo eating. talk to it and it will flee. If you go to the house next to the castform-trade girl's house, litleo will be there and flee below. If you follow, you fight a lvl 35 BANG BANG (aka klinklang). If you defeat it litleo will follow you.
Not sure if these are all the encounters available but comment below if anything needs to be added.
Also, another helpful tip, don't buy super potions, buy choc ice creams in the candy shop. They heal for 70 instead of 50 and cost just the same. Also, until you reach a circus, the best healing item you will get is the berry ice cream in the candy shop ice cream vending machine. If you want to survive, YOU SHOULD BUY THEM.

Side Note: Corey's Gym changes depending on if you finished the police quest before or after defeating Pulse Tangrowth. If you did, Corey gets revealed as a Meteor Agent in front of Heather, instead of her just flying off. The cops follow Corey to his Gym, but they get hypnotized by a strange mist, basically making them the Gym trainers. Also, the Police Chief gives you the Field Effect Read-Out on the Corrosive Mist field. That's because Corey battles on that field in this route. There are also minor changes to his gym battle, like his Sashed-Skrelp is the only item he has on a mon, he only has one super potion, and his Crobat has nasty plot instead of roost. Ame's dialogue is also changes to give info on the Corrosive Mist field instead of the Corrosive field

-In the SLUMS, you can find an *Egg* in a basket. It will be randomized to either *Drowzee* , *Bronzor* or *Ducklett* . The egg is accessible by passing through the first room of ledge puzzles, through the two holes in the walls, and through another big ledge puzzle
-For those who didn’t get it, there are *Hoppips* outside the slums during WINDY days
*CORAL WARD*
-When it's RAINING, there's a *Lotad*
-After encountering the *Spoink* in the Obsidia Ward on a clear DAY (some of you have), it will run to one of the warehouses in Coral Ward. It's hiding in one of the boxes
*ONYX WARD*
-After beating Florinia, in one of the buildings, a blond male student will apologize for following Fern's orders and battling you. He'll give you access to the elevator behind him and you can reach the roof. There's grass on the roof and you can get an encounter for Onyx Ward. On CLEAR days, if you have a Pokesnax, a Pichu will be hiding behind a tree and you can catch it
-In the third room of the second floor of the Trainers’ School is a glitchy computer. Once you obtain a *Data Chip* (obtainable after the 3rd Badge, in the Orphanage), go back to the computer and put the Data Chip inside. It will summon a *Porygon*
*BERYL WARD*
-During SUNNY weather, a *Helioptile* can be found on the roof of the hotel next to the PokéMart. It will join you if you have a PokeSnax.
-At NIGHT, the grave just to the left of the graveyard's stairs can be read, which will summon a *Shuppet*
-At NIGHT, if you have the *Soul Candle* (see the next entry), use it on a pumpkin to summon a *Pumpkaboo* . Its level varies depending on the pumpkin used. The pumpkin down the stairs at the far end has the highest level of 32
-In the Beryl Library (accessible through the Rhodocrine Jungle), after beating Corey, you find a Gothitelle and many Gothitas. Talk to the Gothitelle, who will ask you to clean the library of all the books and papers. After you clean everything, the Gothitelle will give you a *Soul Dandle* . Also, talk to one of the *Gothitas* and it will join you
*ADVICE*
-In the upper floor of the Trainer's School, talk to the youngster who's facing the wall and standing next to a tree. Talk to him FROM THE SIDE , and NOT from behind. An event will happen and you'll get access to the Desert Rose Field Notes.
-In the Beryl Cave, above the graveyard, there’s a *Link Stone* hidden in a rock inside the cage you can use to evolve a Pokémon normally requiring trading. You can also get a new encounter there.

although I do understand that they might not pay as much attention to the trainer AI as I do bcs they're also trying to look at each others screens and help each other
but after an opponent switches out bcs of a -4 defense stat for the 30th time in a battle I expect some progress towards understanding the AI
TBH the AI in this game is so easily manipulated bcs they wanted all trainers to have good AI so there's hardly any difference between a gym leader and a random trainer
literally didn't have a problem after the 1st gym exactly because the AI is so readable and predictable
the only hard part about the game is the terrains which is easily solvable if you read the the entries enough
or make it really easy by having document with terrain changes next to you while playing bcs hey you already unlocked the entry anyway
i mean, i dont think i've ever lowered an AI's stat like that, while they were able to swap, so i dunno how i'm expected to know that

Now that you saved the day-care people and you all completed the police quest there is another police quest. You may have noticed that one of the Team Meteor grunts stole an officer's growlithe. Another dude wants you to help by getting a growlithe egg and giving him it. In exchange you will get 1 of 18 mons. Now if you have a female growlithe you can do this quest now if you have a mon in the Field egg group. Nappy's Monferno, Jay's Persian, Mo's Raticate, Nexus's Ursaring, Twit's glameow if male can all breed with it. Now if you have a male growlithe, you need to wait until you get Ditto, which may be a while. I only point this one out in particular cause there are some solid mons in there. I don't wanna spoil what is in the eggs until you hatch them but I will say that there are two members of the penta-op crew that would be in the words of Nexus be clapping their feet in joy if they got said mon. But all you have to do to start this quest is talk to the officer on the right side of the room who talks about how you got the growlithe and not him. And then the guy sitting south from him will ask you about it. Then you bring the guy who wants to help out the guy the egg and he'll get you the egg.
* The second sidequest you haven't done. (At least to my knowledge) is back in the Obsidia Slums. Now in my opinion one of these mons I feel like can come in handy and has in my playthrough so far while the others may not be the greatest mon, but some of the penta-op crew needs mons compared to TheKingNappy aka the best Poketuber Nuzlocker.
But enter the Obsidia Slums from the entrance. When you enter it'll be the room with 3 homeless people in it. There is a gate to the right of you with an egg on the other side, that is your end goal. Then you proceed through the next room going up the stairs. Then you go through the following room as there is only one way to go. From there you go in the hole on the side of the stairs. In that room there is a box blocking the path right in front of you as you enter. Interact with the box twice from the side. It'll let you know it can be pushed a side. Go through the room that was previously blocked. Go through that room and you will taken on the other side of the fence in the room where the egg is in the first room.

If they make it past shelly then they are kind of good for a bit until kiki (I believe kiki can be difficult). Soon though they will be able to start getting decent Pokemon like several starters such as squirtle and charmander. Fun fact: you can get an egg holding 1 of 16 pokemon in jasper if you give the lonely officer a growlithe egg and you can get a swinub and other good mons (eventual mamoswine) in citrine mountain which is the cave in front of the abandoned power plant.

I have to say Penta-Op playing reborn, is great, i got into Reborn just before E17 and am now eagerly waiting for E18, and was mightily disappointed when i saw very few people have made it to E17, most of the Reborn playlists in YT are many years old and no one has really bothered to play new Reborn episodes. I do think you need to change your Nuzlocke rules to be honest though, for Reborn and Rejuvenation i would change the rule to say you can catch every pokemon (or member of its evo group) ONCE and when it dies that evo group is removed from being played ever again, its still Nuz but more appropriate for Reborn style games. Other than that its great watching everyone play hopefully e18 will be available before you reach the end of the current episode.
For this gym I used an ampharos with charge beam and electric terrain and got the spa boost 5/6 turns loool
