I had the same issues after doing all these changes but i had 300 fps. I put everything back to default and now its working as before with 160 fps. Game is installed on a ssd.

I know it might only be 20 fps - but I believe a lot with performance issues already has it on the lowest standard setting. Great videos!

In-game in plunder, I was getting about 90-110 on default max settings, 140-160 with lowest standard settings, and about 180-190 with the extra config file settings and windows/wintoys settings.
Hey great guide it worked on my pc. But my brother is running into a issue where when he opens up the options folder he does not have option to edit the file. There is nothing in the notepad.. Anyway around this. He has windows 11. When he opens up the folder only a single symbol shows up and not any options to edit. Anyone else encounter this?

@juanndr12 I’ve never tested your exact configuration, but depending on where your system’s bottleneck is, you should get some performance from it. Most see around 5-20fps more just from the config file changes alone.

It worked the first time before I shut down my PC. When I turned it on again, it went back to lower frame rates. When I checked the settings, nothing changed. I don't know what happened tho. Maybe someone here also encountered the problem and can offer some help?
It worked for me, it improved me a lot in terms of fps stability. I have a meaningless problem, I don't understand why when I play on my brother's Steam account the fps stay at 70-80 and when I log into mine they go to 40-50 and few peaks of 60. All the graphic settings are the same, absolutely everything. Besides the fact that they use the same files, I need help with that problem.
What if I'm having issues with my player file duplicating the normal preset settings and going back to the normal one. I can't get my cod.23 file to save as the new one

The GPUUploadHeaps caused my game to crash in the first 10 seconds of me starting the game. Is there a reason why? I have a Ryzen 9 5900x and RTX 3070. -Problem fix: I didn't have resizable bar enabled on my motherboard but now it works.

@kingbaldwin you should be able to reenable it in the config file, but I HIGHLY recommend not using frame gen. It introduces an insane amount of input lag.
@roliggg above each setting has a brief description of what it does. In short, the config file has all of the in-game settings in it, along with others that just can’t be accessed in the game menu. In other words, it’s just turning hidden settings down from high/medium to low/very low.
@roliggg I included a video at the end showing before and after side by side. The differences are subtle but you can see them if you slow the video down.

my game started crashing while loading into games and when exiting games after doing these settings. Moved the original CST file back and still the game crashes about once out of every 2 to 3 games.
Now I could not even play the game. Getting 5 to 10 FPS GPU time goes to 50ms and CPU time goes to 150ms. Before the change I was getting around 60 FPS. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600H GPU: RX 5500M (4GB) RAM: 24GB

@prxvxken8835 It should be the same number of performance cores that you have, so I’d try 8 and see if that improves your FPS

it literally says in the description of path tracing that it is only in the menus and firing range and doesnt have an impact on ingame performance.

Cod 3 is for mw2 and warzone 2 mw2 era, cod 4 is for mw3 and wz2 mw3 era

The path tracing option doesnt impact ingame perf. its only for lobby firing range and gunsmith

I feel like my cpu is usually the issue due to overheating, but in game my gpu time is upwards to 20+ seconds
my computer must be too high end to even compromise much of an fps boost. i guess it jumped by like 20 maybe.
