Emma, that security guard that gets pizza from Bruce is none other than actor Lou Ferrigno. He played the Hulk on the CBS TV series.
The guy with the blue shirt that banner gives the pizza to, is the teacher in the Spider-Man movies.
Bill Bixby was on the TV.
He was the TV Banner.
That 3rd transformation always gets me with how painful it is for Bruce Banner to transform into Hulk. Also, one of Hulk's abilities is that he draws more strength from his anger. The angrier he gets, the more powerful he becomes.
To answer any questions, Bruce Banner's grasp over Hulk depends on HOW he transforms. If it happens voluntarily, Hulk has more of an ability to reason and comprehend things. But if it happens through uncontrollable stimuli like anger, Hulk is the living equivalent of a wrecking ball.
That opening scene I have never seen it before
It's a deleted scene that is featured on the DVD 3-disc edition of the movie.
Lie to Me was a great tv show. In the comics the psychiatrist Dr. Leonard Sampson becomes Doc Sampson, kind of a weaker version if The Hulk but in full control of his faculties.
FYI the dog is supposedly fine, they were packed with tranquilizers, as General Ross asked them to bring him alive 🙏🐾

19:22 Lou Ferrigno behind the desk is the 80's TV series Hulk, and the old guy who drank the green soda was Stan Lee, the creator of Marvel comics, he makes an appearance in every Marvel film, like Hitchcock did in his films.
Fun facts: in every scene, there's something green 💚.
-the majority of the movie was shot in Canada. Bouncing between Toronto and Hamilton.
-the transformation is based on what the person is repressing. With Banner it is rage, with Blonsky it's psychosis and with Dr Sterns it's intelligence.
Oh I almost forgot... Her boyfriend Leonard was Doc Samson, from the comics.

"Doctor Blue's" lab is supposed to be at Columbia University on 114th Street in Manhattan. I went to college there. The Hulk/Abomination street fight is on 125th street in Manhattan. You can see the sign for the Apollo Theater during the fight, which is a landmark in music history. Ironically there is now a biomedical research building closer to 125th street.
8:15 - Nothing happened to the man who drank the soda. That's Stan Lee, the real life creator of many of the Marvel comics. He was already all-powerful. 🙂. Stan has a cameo in every Marvel movie until he passed away. Looking for his cameo is a fun game when watching these films.
18:10 - The name of the restaurant is "Stanley's" - another Stan Lee reference.

My favorite MCU film ever! I love how you put the deleted scenes in your reaction, it makes the movie much more sense. Liv Tyler is coming back to MCU in the new Captain America movie. Hoping Bruce and Betty have an interaction again.
That mutation that Dr. Stearns received from the gamma blood turns him into a character from the comic books called The Leader. The Leader was a brilliant gamma irradiated man, but in the comics he was one of the Hulk's enemies. Tony Stark was referring to the Avengers Initiative.

Emma, there were many callbacks to The Incredible Hulk TV series of the 1970’s. While the most obvious is the appearance of Lou Ferrigno, the original Hulk, playing a security guard bribed by pizza. Another is during the battle between Hulk and the Army, two college students record the battle. One of them was identified as Jack McGee, a reporter for the school newspaper. In the show, McGee was the reporter who pursued Banner each week; with the hopes of getting “the story of the century”.
Blonsky was injected with a form of the same chemical that made Captain America. Remember, "It's Makes a good man Better, But it makes an Evil Man even Worse".
Blonsky's mindset was on "Beating a Tougher Adversary".
For your information there are 24 non-MCU movies with Marvel characters. Most are the X-Men franchise (plus Logan and Wolverine) and Fantastic Four movies. There are 5 with Spider-Man and 2 with Venom. There's a 1990 Captain America, 2 Ghost Rider movies, Daredevil, Elektra, the silly Howard the Duck, 3 Blade movies, the Punisher (3) and the 1st Deadpool film.
Yes. Release order is best on first watch. :-)
@ 8:50 General T. Ross mentions "possible deaths... of two canadians hunters" For those who don't know Logan, The Wolverine, had his first appearance in the Hulk comics and Logan's first task was to hunt and take down the Hulk so I think the Wolverine was one of the two canadians hunters

Edward Norton has an industry reputation of being hard to work with because he sees movies how he envisions and tries to tell or sometimes enforce his ideas of how the movies should be edited. That's why he never returned to the MCU and replaced with Mark Ruffalo (Creative Differences).
There was a Hulk TV series from the late 1970s to the early 1980s. Bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno played the Hulk. He was so big, all they had to do was paint him green. He has a cameo shot here as a security guard at about 19:22 in your video.
I liked both of the Hulk movies. Great "popcorn" movies where you turn your brain off and just enjoy.
Fun Fact: This movie marks the 4th time Edward Norton played a character with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder).

The Hulk's special power which we SEE in the movies but they never tell us about so it's very easy to miss, is that he gets stronger when he gets angrier.
So at this start of this fight, the Abomination is stronger than the Hulk, but the Hulk keeps getting more and more angry which makes him stronger and stronger until he is stronger than the Abomination.
They never explain this in the movie but if you know it, you can see it happen.
For ANY series of films... Release order is ALWAYS the way to go. You can't go wrong with that... :)

Why are so many reactors completely skipping over Hulk from 2003 and instantly go to this one?

The sequel, The Incredible Edible Egg, was an complete flop, as it was just a joke that you only get if you were born in the 70s. :-)
This is a serious downgrade from Ang Lee Hulk. I still like the movie but it irks me how he doesn't heal like he normally should (fast as Wolverine or faster), he doesn't jump as far like he does in the comics (3 miles), and he's weaker. However, his heart rate has absolutely nothing to do with him turning into Hulk, it's his anger. That's the worst part of this iteration.
lmao yeah cause it isnt like he can jump less than 3 miles 😂 if he wants to he can jump but in this movie they didnt show it but after the first transformation he woke up in the forrest in different country so he prolly jumped his way huh

Unfortunately you didn't pick the very first HULK movie from the Marvel Universe. The first movie of the Marvel franchise was a 2003 Ang Lee directed HULK movie that had a stellar cast of Nick Nolte, Jennifer Connally, Sam Elliot and Eric Bana as Bruce Banner/Hulk and it was a great movie with fantastic acting. Marvel refuses to acknowledge this as the first Marvel Universal movie because it's not "gender friendly". Ang Lee's HULK is far closer to the real Hulk from the Comic book which is where this character came from. Ang Lee's HULK was bigger faster stronger and smarter than the current rendition of today's hulk that Marvel creates. I recommend you watch the first original 2003 HULK movie on your own time and you'll notice the difference. That 2003 HULK movie connects in several ways to the current Marvel Universe but Marvel continues to ignore it despite I and many others say its the best Hulk to date. Yes the CGI is dated because of the technological era it came out of but it's still the best HULK movie with great top notch actors.
