MS500i vs MS462 vs 572xp vs PS7910 (all stock)

  • The new fuel injected (first ever) MS500i has some impressive stats on paper, 6.8hp/5kw with 79.2cc by only 6.2kg/13.6lbs powerhead weight. A lightweight powerhouse! I wanted to see how the saw keeps up against some comparable contenders. (Also, check out my test against some ported saw's. ) Now it's finally time to squeeze a bit more out of the 500i ;)

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

I've had my ms441cm for 10+ years and it's been flawless. It's only had a muffler model done to it,but I cant see the fuel injected saw have any real advantages over the mtronic saws as far as reliability, so unless theres significant fuel savings I'll stick with carburetors. My only complaint about my 441 is the weight, but that's probably got more to do with my aging than it does the saw

I’m sick and tired hearing about durability on the stihl saws. Stihl are no dummies they have done there homework and tested all around the world there won’t be any issues regarding durability whatsoever. You guys talking about durability the 562 550 series huskys here in Australia early on were atrocious had a mate who runs a tree service couldn’t even get a season out of them hot start problems. The fact of the matter is that the 576 & 441 were both good saws but not popular & consumers told both companies what they wanted & on that issue only one company delivered guess which one

BUT i must say im so fucking disappointed with the air filter system. After about 6 hours work the filter is more packed than any saw i have ever used. It feels like it sucks in sawdust from those openings on the airfilter cover. I feel i have to clean it after every 2 hours or smth, which is just stupid. Also everytime u wiggle out that stupid filter you increase the chances of getting fine dust into the hole which is hard to get out because of the shape.

The 462’s are game changer for stihl never mind the 500i that sounds like an oleomac.

Great video but I don't think it will ever make it as a logging saw due to how complicated it would be to have to rebuild. I've not tried any of the new stihls but I know my 460 mag will never get replaced.

Great comparison. Would have loved to see 3 cuts and a new chain or sharpen each time. Otherwise great job. Thank you!! In the end they are all great saws! The 462 surprised me over 500. Knew they were close, but expected 500 to barely win. Still debating on either a 462 or 572 for my next saw.

572 husq no slouch but after seeing that 462 Maybe just maybe I may jump ship. 500i may have stats 462 has BALLS!!!

The best simple comparison I've seen, bravo!
Just one small point, to eliminate doubt set camera to avoid loss of sight of the chain and bar for some changes.

ported Dolmars are no joke when you let them breathe, may be the fastest saw in your comparison. nice work on the vid

    • @giannistsoukatos4205
      @giannistsoukatos4205 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes. For the ones that know, Dolmar comes heavily restricted on breathing. It even has a metalic piece that restrict the cylinder!!! Take just this out and you have a different saw. Also its muffler is heavily restricted.Fix these two issues and then make comparison. You will find it impossible to beat the Dolmar-Makita on the same cc.

Just if you not sharpened chain between different machines the test is a bit unequal is it oak? Lot of dark hard heartwood. It resume in number what I noticed by feeling the new generation MS500 MS46x, is less efficient than the old generation withouth M tronic, when my 2006 MS 660 was stolen I not buyed the 661 because of that. The fist generation of 661 seemed to me even less powerful than a old 460 what a shame...

    Good afternoon, or maybe evening.
In your opinion, which model of chainsaws is the best and most reliable between two brands Stihl - Husqvarna.
    Thank you.
