No, it doesn't really have water resistance. You might be able to recover something from absorbent paper, or maybe if you dabbed the water up quickly enough, but the ink dissolved very fast. I love what you said about filling the void for another person. ☺ A victory indeed! And yes, we must never give up or surrender - it seems appealing, but things never improve that way, we must keep trying, and helping each other to keep trying. Well, it’s time to get ready for meditation and then work (which is a joy). I will use the Pilot 823 with Seiboku ink today in your honour (charts require permanent ink). I have an Ellington extra fine nib fountain pen and this ink DOES NOT WORK with it. It's a shame as the pen writes great. No matter what I've done I cannot get this ink to work in it.
Sorry to hear that, Eric. 🙁 It's a known phenomenon that every now and then a specific pen and ink combo just won't work, and it's unclear why. InkSwatch.com may help you find a similar ink that will work. My only guess would be that it needs a flow aid, but I've never used an Ellington pen, so I really wouldn't know.
