Peg Perego John Deere Tractor | How To Upgrade Battery

My son loves this tractor, but the battery drains fast when used in second gear (and on grass) and it takes a long time to charge. Upgrade the battery on this toy to get more run time. Upgrade the charger to charge the battery faster. Now the tractor tires out my son, haha. We can also have other kid guests ride this tractor without worrying about battery life.
* Keep the positive terminal of the battery covered to prevent shorting. You can try using electrical tape as a temporary solution. Heat shrink tubing is a long term solution.
* The fuse goes on the positive of the battery.
* You can use zip ties to tie the battery down.
* You do not need to disconnect the battery from the tractor to charge the battery.
***Update 9.19.17 - I have noticed that if you constantly run the tractor with an aftermarket battery with more storage in 2nd gear on grass, the motor will eventually turn off (due to overheating). We noticed this happened more often in hot weather. If this happens, let it sit for about a minute and it will be ready to go.
***Update 2.28.20 - The aftermarket battery now lasts a few minutes, which means its failing. I have found aftermarket batteries to have poor reliability based on amazon reviews. The original battery still works just fine and have now reinstalled it into the tractor, but I kept the terminals for the fast charger to be able to charge it faster. I used some screws, washers.
