- ⭐️MY JOURNEY TO WAIST LENGTH 4B/4C NATURAL HAIR WITH PICTURES! ⭐️
I remember watching natural hair journey videos years ago when I was learning how to take care of my hair. I always wanted to make a video like this and finally took the time to look through old pictures and do it. I hope you find this video entertaining and inspiring, as I show my journey to waist length natural hair. With some care and patience, I went from shoulder length to waist length. If I can grow waist length natural hair then you can too! Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe :)

Your travel and childhood lifestyle is impressive. Thanks for the video. Continued Blessings 🙏🏽
This was more than a hair journey, I feel like I just witnessed your childhood
Ikr!?😢 they all grow up so fast😂😂😂😂😣
Haha right good stuff
I feel like I just watched you grow up from a baby to an adult while watching your hair flourish also! Love it. You’re too adorable
Me too😂
aww thank you
For reall!! Loll I felt the same way , especially the transition from beginning of high school to end of high school. I was like awwww look at her growing up !!
OMG, I said the same thing! Blossomed into a beautiful young lady!
@@StayUniquee Hey baby
Can we just appreciate how pretty this girl is 🥲
I know this is random, but shout out to your parents or whomever raised you. From the small snippets I got to see, it looks like your life was/is full of awesome/enriching opportunities and experiences. Kudos to them for investing in you and your future. Fabulous hair journey video 😍
i thought the same thing too...great to see👍🏽
Yep, she went to a boarding school so I'm assuming the parents are PAID.
@@ms.bubs4fun506 Nope, I was just on a scholarship 😊
@@StayUniquee GRRRRREAT!!!🙌🏼!

Sis, it's the glow-up for me. You were and ARE Gorgeous!
This video was put together so well! These are the type of journey videos I like to see

This is soo true long natural hair take soo much time people don’t realize how it’s difficult to maintain I have waist length hair it took me 3-5h to do my hair I think I will switch up with wig because I’m sooo lazy to do my hair know
@@JoshelleLewis i prepoo with Ayurvedic powder it gives you so much growth and I just moisturized and protrective style and I deep condition on every wash day
Waist length? TELL ME HOW YOU DID IT!
I'm still at shoulder length 😔
@@JoshelleLewis it's all good doe girl, Imma wait for you. We'll grow our hair together
I'm bra strap length now and I'm already tired. I wig it UP tho
Jajaja up to 5 hours
I think i will keep them medium length
Even this length it's take me up an eternity
So happy I found someone who didn’t chop off all their hair in their 20s and start over , I’m in 7th grade and now I know I don’t have to go bald 😂
Don't have to, but it can help if you have the confidence to rock it, (I sure as shit didn't in 7th grade).
Buzzed my hair down and it grew back in about a year. Been 2 years now and it's armpit length, (I don't straighten my hair), but I'm exploring different protective styles and options.
Tbh depending on your hair, you MIGHT need to cut it, (I did because it barely touched my shoulders and wouldn't get longer due to chemical damage when I was a teenager,) but you don't necessarily have to go bald. I wanted all the "bad hair" off my head, so I cut it and it regrew nice and healthy!
Sometimes starting over and relearning how to do things is good. Don't be scared to admit you're wrong and turn back in life, as it can benefit you in the end! 😊
@@kiyokumabear so I jus did a big chop Please give me tips to grow it out
@@fkggbnjkb1717 I recommend watching TH-cam videos since there really helpful. Make sure to watch videos with your hair type or if you have any of the type 4 hairs you can watch “how to grow out my type 4 hair” same with the other hair types if your not type 4. Hope this helps
It sucks that swimming alot breaks our hair!
It only really breaks your hair if you don't moisturize it properly bcos chlorine is very drying. You should wash out chlorine with a clarifying shampoo i believe and follow up with deep conditioner and just keep it moisturized.
Give your life to God , repent , pray and read your bible , Jesus loves you , it may be hard but its worth it🙏❤
@@marsbarsinthestars3226 Give your life to God , repent , pray and read your bible , Jesus loves you , it may be hard but its worth it🙏❤
No, proper care after swimming breaks your hair. I’ve been doing competitive swimming for almost ten years now, and I’ve been able to still grow my hair out
@@corrianabrown3471 What is your hair type, and what exactly do you do to prevent it from breaking? I want my daughter to take swimming lessons.
My 2021 GOALS I want to document my length journey more 🔥
Yes you and me both 😭 I just did the big chop!
Tofu Nicolle omg yes the growth is gonna go crazy! Make sure u record it girl that would be so cool to look at
Same. I’m protective styling all 2021
@@abbb8238 we’re bout to see crazy growth!!!
I created a photo album for all the rare glimpses my natural curls make an appearance in a photo or video. Looking through it you really do get a better picture of your hairs healthy (or unhealthy) journey . I highly recommend it
I watched your video with my very young daughters. We live in Italy and are on lockdown. Somehow your vide popped up in my daughter's feed as I was cornrowing her very thick and long 3c hair. At the end of your video my daughter who is only 6yrs old, asked me in a sad tone in Italian, "Mama why did she do that to her hair, did she think her real hair was ugly?" Having to try to explain it to her without making her feel that her hair was "too difficult" or "too much work" was heartbreaking. I'm so glad we live in Italy, I am an American expat but my husband is Italian. Here black women wear their hair mostly natural, not feeling our schedules or our workplaces can't accommodate our twists, Bantu knots, braids and other protective styles that are seen as "unprofessional" in the US. It seems America makes our people believe that straight hair is "easy" and "professional hair." The Euro beauty standard is more at work in the US than here in Rome, where our glorious voluminous hair is appreciated for its obvious beauty. This video in the end made me and my 3 little girls very sad. Your hair was beautiful.♥️
I’m sorry to hear that. Everyone’s hair is different. For me, I wanted to stop spending 4-5 hours washing & detangling my waist length hair plus another 1-2 hours to twist it all up and another 24 hours to wait for the twists to dry so I can take them down. One time, I was standing in the shower so long that I fainted. I couldnt just wash my hair, let it air dry & go because it would get really tangled & I would get a ton of single strand knots. Now since I’m training to be a doctor, I no longer want to spend a whole day doing my hair, nor do I have the time to. With the curly perm I can wash my hair & style it in an hour or less, which is crazy. For me, it didn’t have anything to do with professionalism, beauty standards, etc. I loved my hair the way it was, which is why I never did anything too crazy to it until recently. I can’t speak for everyone but I got this for better time management and that’s all. It wasnt that my hair was “a lot of work” or “hard to do”. It was more so that my hair took a lot of time because I was always very gentle with it when I was natural and never rushed doing it. Also can’t assume what worked for someone with 3c hair (or even someone with similar 4b or 4c hair) is gonna work for my hair. There’s more to hair than just the curl pattern (density, porosity, thickness, length). My natural hair may take hours to do but someone else’s may not take as long. So no one will really know my experience except me. I hope that makes sense!
@@StayUniquee that makes a lot of sense to me. It's your hair journey, so no one else will ever understand what it all takes for you personally, unless they walk in your shoes. Do whatever is best for you. Thanks for taking the time to even explain yourself in such a respectful way. This says a lot about how humble you are. Thank you for sharing your beautiful hair journey with us 😍
Same thing happened to me in Spain. I've been encouraged to wear my hair natural since I was a teen but I decided to do it 3 years ago. People love. The hairstyles and everything. They specially like it when I detangle my hair and wear an Afro. People ask for pictures an everything. They embrace our features way more than in the Americas
@Tiffany Moore I think it’s because bw wear their hair texture more . Whether it’s there’s , or clip ins /wig whereas in the USA our protective styles are braids or straight clip ins and wigs . I think we should embrace it more and not worry about what others say
Hi! I too live in Italy.
What I learned from this is to find out what works for YOUR hair! It might take trying an array of things. I love how she was patient with her hair, didn’t do anything outrageous and trusted her journey! Loved this . I have locs but I enjoyed this!
1. I love to see people are going back to picture slide hair journeys.
2. Your progress was amazing.
3. Your life experience and exposure. 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Yesss girl! I’m trying to see if I can get to tailbone too!

Keep your hair moisture and protected. Try to keep your hands out of your hair and be gentle and easy with it
You were the sweetest little child and grew up into a beautiful young woman; thank you for sharing your journey. It keeps me encouraged to see others progress and get to where they want to be on their hair journey. I will too, one day soon
Awwww I feel like a auntie, watching my baby grow up into a young lady 🥰
Thanks for sharing 💎
Best hair journey video I have seen! You were so diligent not only in your methods but to document all of it! Way to go! Your hair is beautiful shrinkage and all that LENGTH!
Wow what a journey! Your hair grew long, it seems like protective styles helped you grow it out! Wonderful progress you’ve made over the years ❤️❤️
Yes! Protective styles were key for me :)
For sure
No matter how long your hair got your shrinkage seem to always be shoulder length. Luv the video, no talking, just pics, music, some reading and right to the point, u gave us more than a hair journey this is your day to day life journey, seems u had a busy schedule in HS and college and was still able to pin point what the problem was and handled it, it’s all about patience & consistently. Congrats on graduating college 🎈
Your journey is amazing! Thank you for being so honest and transparent with us
Girl this was a whole journey for me I went Spain with you, Sophomore, damn I experienced the heat Damage too everything 😩. I enjoyed it ✨
LMFAOOOO
I’m still at shoulder length and have been for years. I leave my hair alone under wigs and everything. What am I doing wrongggg?! I feel like it won’t growww!!
Length retention girl, trim, moisturize, and grease those ends. If they don’t stay moist they break off. Water, leave in Conditioner, grease or castor oil. Cheap and easy way to moisturize.
deep condition once a month, get split ends cut
doing hair oils and treatments will help your hair look alive and help with hair growth
Thank y’all!
leave your braids up for a couple months
wow this was truly amazing you did a great job recovering your breakage. You deserve your hair length! very proud of u.
this is the first hair journey video that i didnt skip one second!! l appreciate the simple way of editing. youu are beautiful and your hair is gorgeous🤗
This was the best and most descriptive hair journey I’ve seen on TH-cam. Like you I a had very similar hair journey and now I’m trying to figure out how to strengthen my hair lol 😂
That part! Lol
This is a good documentation. I love the step by step detailed explanations. Your hair is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you for sharing your hair journey😊 Just proves that we can grow beautiful healthy hair ❤
This makes me wanna go back natural for the 4th time 🙄🙄
🤣🤣
You can do it
Don’t give up
You are not natural with the braids that you have in your PFP? 😳😅
Best to just go the all the way and not keep the relaxed ends. Take your time, try to go natural.
Facts same here
So your hair just grows every time you braid it
Yes yes and yes! Lol I know I'm not her but I shaved my hair bald in July and right now it's quite long almost shoulder length which is insane! All I do is leave it in protective styles (mostly braids)
Yes braid it up, mosturize it and leave it alone
@@T7d534 yes my hair grows better in braid's
That’s the only time mine grows when it’s braided for two months

Ok but tell me why she looked so good in college and so young. This video is my goal. Love it😍😍
Love it. Great journey girly. I’m trying to grow my hair to be long in its curly state as well. Hopefully I can get waist arm pit length the end of 2021. With past shoulder length in its curly state.
This hair journey was sooo different , I love it !
OMG THE SHRINKAGE😯
9:45 length goals🥰🥰
Holy **** you are gorgeous lol. You are beautiful with any hair style!!!
I feel like a distant cousin. I love your hair journey but I’m more proud of your accomplishments ❤️❤️❤️
That was such a soothing video. It was like watching myself grow up. That pool chlorine is no joke lol! I did a big chop before college and had a bob! It was low maintenance and I loved it. Now I'm growing it again...
Your very beautiful and I enjoyed watching your natural hair journey
I'm following you!!! I got mine too when my hair was about armpit length. I was scared to let her cut it too but I let her trim about an inch off. Don't let the haters phase you talking about it as if they know what products Gina is using. 👀 Us GinaCurly Girls know what's up! Do what's good for YOUR hair and YOUR budget. 👏 I can't wait until my GinaCurl is waist length.
Awesome beautiful I am proud of the way you grew your hair! I love you 🤩
These pics show tht uve been serving face all these years. Gorgeous 😍
I'm currently on my hair growth journey! Its a struggle😭 but this gives me hope:)
Your so beautiful and I love how beautiful and long your hair is wow 🤩
Yes these are the natural hair videos I love ❤️
Your hair takes in moisture so well, for it to shrink at your shoulders I enjoyed this video!
Your pretty, also I really love this whole video , I enjoyed watching it , giving me more motivation to stay strong in this hair journey and get waist length hair
Those model shoots when you were young are soooo cuuuteeeee
Just beautiful........!!!!! Go girl.....my hair goals!!😊😊😊
I liked to see not only your hair journey, but also the activities you did along the way. My siblings and I had a similar childhood. Very grateful for the opportunities. Swim team in high school was so much fun!
One thing I learned from this video is to mostly leave your hair alone, make sure it’s healthy and be patient. Think less about your hair but take care of it and enjoy the process.
Awesome video. I saw you grow up @ a period of time and the hair growth journey !! 💚
You slay every hairstyle, literally
Yesss this inspired me to get my hair back to the length it was when i was 9-10 years old
Honey one thing you did was enjoy life 😍
Loved watching your hair journey & your glow up is too cute.! The curly sew-ins look good.
I love this ❤️ on a natural hair journey as well and this really inspired me
How did your edges grow back and once u started back using wigs how did u keep your edges from following out. Also how did u keep up the maintenance of the wig and what you do with your hair while under the wig ?????
This was very inspiring!! Thank you very much!
Black women are truly magical 🦋 I love us if no one else does 🥰
Basically protective style your hair and leave it alone for a month or so it will grow
Beautiful girl with beautiful hair. Our hair is like no other on the PLANET! It just needs some tlc is all!
I want to know what companies were you buying your curly bundles from , they’re beautiful !
praise God! this was a great video! many blessings to your new journey
You've always been pretty but your glow up is really beautiful 😍
let's forget the hair growth journey for a while and appreciate that wonderful glow-up
Even though I don’t really take care my hair and it just grows whenever I braid it, my biggest issue is traction alopecia around the edges of my head 😞
Mine too. I literally am losing my edges and I dont wear tight pony tails or anything. Idk what happened or how to fix or reverse or if it is even possible to do. Since the pandemic I have braided my own hair and it has grown since it broke off a lot but my edges is still missing 😩
Forget the hair journey. It was her being a lil black girl in boarding school, college & traveling abroad ❤. I hope I can give my baby these opportunities too.
Here i am stuck at shoulder length for the past 2 years 😞.. Your hair is GOALS !! 💕 Praying I achieve it soon 🤞
Try protective hair styles and let it for 2 months also try wild growth hair oil or aunt Jackie’s hair products or castor oil have a good diet try supplements and your hair will grow that’s why I did and remember patience is what grow hair long
As a baby you looked just like my niece! She's still a baby but I feel like I saw a glimpse of how she'll grow up
did u ever cut it during ur experiences?
Yesss for the glow up! We seen you with your frontal and saiddd yesss boo! From braid and beads to grown woman ❤️
I want my hair to grow like this!!!
You and your hair grow up together beautiful
Woow!!feels like a childhood to Adulthood journey... totally loved it...I would like to know how to Moisturize your hair.
I swear it’s a struggle with my hair.
I can’t get it to be moisturize
I can’t set detangle it without knots being pull out
It’s always breaking
It’s honestly a struggle dealing with it to be honest. I’m doing one thing next minute you know someone tells me that I’m doing it wrong
Trim ends, get a moisture routine for your porosity as well and only detangle when moisturised. If you are low po stay away from protein if you are high po then protein is your bff. Then also protective style. Be gentle
@@nisaa.a__03 yeah it’s the same alike yours and for the knots I realize that the knot on my hair form by just being dried. Once I add water or cream it disappear. My hair is completely fine for now my only big issues is just the split ends. For how I moisturize my hair, Whenever I do moisturize I cover it with a paper bag to keep the heat and moisture in to soften my hair. It works in softening my hair and the soft texture last for like 2-3 days :D) my hairs alright but growth is slow
@@eliselol85 I need to try braiding my hair again but I don’t look good in wigs 🗿I have my afro out every single day and Honestly My hair grows regardless with or without being braid and I believe it’s the grease and oil that’s making it stand strong.
Wow your hair is beautiful
This video was amazing!

When i was 10 i didn't care about my hair and like it made me sad how my family use to make fun of me for it, like i just went under my covers and started crying, it made me think about suicide, but now i officially feel better now, i was worried about other people so much i didn't worry about myself.
How often did you get your hair straighten? How often did you do your twist outs? How long did you leave your twist in? Thanks for the video!🥰
Hii! Thanks for the questions, sorry I forgot to address them in the video. Once I learned how to take care of my hair from girls on youtube I only straightened it 1-2 times a year every Fall/Winter! I redid twistouts maybe 1-2 times per week depending how long the style lasted. I did twists after washing my hair & took them out the next day as soon as they were dry (my hair takes a while to dry so it took a while)
Im so happy for youuuu 🥰🥰
THIS WAS MEE THE SWIM TEAM THE DOMINICAN BLOW OUTS THE BREAKAGE WOW
Wow this just motivated to continue my hair journey !! 😩 i wonder how many years it took you to grow it that much !!
You look like Kandi Burress. You are pretty and your hair is beauitful!

This is so inspiring 🎉
These highs and lows had me on a roller-coaster. 😅😂😁
Like how long and healthy your hair is
Best hair journey video i've seen. Thank you. I need to just leave my hair in braids (i almost never braid, and i never put wigs) Maybe my fine hair needs braids.... Touching it to moisturize every other day is maybe too much. You and you hair are gorgeous
It wasn’t until I started doing my son’s type 4 hair that I realized how unique/high maintenance it is. I have 3c hair that is a lot of work so I can understand why someone would want a ginaperm if it makes the work just a little bit easier.
This felt like i just watched a testimony 😣🤩🙏🏾lol but yess girl yourr hair came out gorgeousss🥲 and I’m on this same journey except rn my hair is badly damaged, from dying it and straightening it. So now I’m going on this whole journey on how to get it back to normal, without doing a big big chop😬🤧but yeah wish me luck, love the vid btw
I love this and I can relate so much!
