This takes me back to high school orchestra which consisted of only 9 people when I was freshman.. every violinist and violist was basically on their own lol 1 or two first violins and one second violin and single violist. Two cellos and a bassist. By the time I reached senior year we had over 75 orchestra members. So awesome 😊
I'M BAFFLED!!!! Remarkable! The sound quality the highs the lows the deep resounding cellos and bass. Bach, blessed a genius. The interpreters, simply flawless.
The Largo from Xerxes? Vangelis' "Missing"? Arturo Cardelús' "Sherwin and Jonathan"? I'd be hard-pressed to choose between them depending on my mood at the time I was asked, and they aren't the only contenders by a long way.
I'm going to sound like such a snob for saying this, so apologies, but this isn't classical, this is the baroque period, And it's brilliant, played with original instruments or modern copies as it would if been played in in bach's time,!!
I am a chef in a high end restaurant and we listen to music daily while getting ready for the dinner seating. I made a deal with my cooks, they can listen to an hour of their rap if I could play my music for an hour. This is what I listened. One day, one of the cooks came up to me and said "I was in Best Buy today and they were playing this. I knew exactly what it was and actually wanted to buy it! I am now ruined".
Oh my ! How beautiful. Thanks to Bach & you all for your hours, years of practice & rehearsals. It is pleasing to all. I love your sincerity & intensity.
This was the first work that drew me in to appreciating Baroque music many many years ago and your rendition takes me back to when I first heard it played. Wonderful performance.
Bravissimo! I love this piece and I think this is the way to play it. Tempo is spot on, it needs to be played quite fast to express the amazing dynamism that is in Brandenburg Concerto 3. I also love the attack the violin ladies plays with. It really creates that driving force through out this piece that it needs. And that dark and mellow, almost dirty sounding cembalo.. mmm so good, really fills it all out. Well played all!
Wow! Absolutely brilliant! Thank you for including such a well-detailed description in the notes of the recording techniques and methods used, along with the background of the musicians and the time in which this pieec was composed. I wish that all TH-cam videos were so nicely recorded and described. I am listening to this on my preferred headphones and I can hear the beautiful warmth and depth manifested by each instrument's distinct tone. I've never heard a better recording of this piece. I look forward to listening more!
What an awesome performance! The artists truly brought the music to life. I get a big thrill at seeing performances where the artists appear to really enjoy the music. Great job! By the way, the production and sound were awesome as well.
Quantas maravilhas !
Simply wonderful sound! What fantastic pieces. Divinely inspired and played! The 3rd has got to be my favourite. The Karl Richter version is also great, but the sound on this is better.
After the concert is over I feel as if I have to come back to the cruel reality of this world, bur whyle it lasts I feel elevated to another dimension I don't fully understand
The entire production of your performances, including the detailed descriptions, is fabulous. I am going to see if the Blu-Ray is out yet and buy it when it is.
I happened to discover your music on TH-cam today. I love it! I was also surprised to see Ms. Kyme, who conducted the CYS junior/intermediate strings for which my son had played in for 5 years. Who knew!
Absolutely wonderful!!! Though I would like to know why you haven't included brandenburg concerto no. 2 in your list of HD vids. While I love concerto no. 3 (and 1 and 4 and so on...) no. 2 is my favourite and I so rarely get to hear good versions of it. Peace
All of these instruments are original instruments or modern instruments? Thanks! Gracias!
Most of the instruments are from around the time of Bach, some of them are copies of instruments in museums. The instruments have the original setup: the strings, string tension, bows, and so on, and the violins and violas have no chin rests or or other modern changes.

Three hundred years ago these concerti were released! Bravo, maestro Bach!

I'm not a classical music connoisseur (more of a rock fan), but this is arguably the most beautiful piece of music ever written.
Idk about that, have you heard "Air on the G String"?
The Largo from Xerxes? Vangelis' "Missing"? Arturo Cardelús' "Sherwin and Jonathan"? I'd be hard-pressed to choose between them depending on my mood at the time I was asked, and they aren't the only contenders by a long way.
Maxwell Kaye i have heard air on the G string. I prefer this. It's more complex, shifts through various moods, and has more energy.
@@JasonMasters This is a very slow reply. I haven't heard of any of those, but I will endeavour to give them a listen. Thanks for the suggestions!

serzi50 I know it's a late reply but Brandenburg was meant to be played in a small group.

Thank you very much. I needed this information to do a "History of Music" work about Bach and this Concerto. Thank you again!
