All great tips. Full face is where it's at. Covered in all conditions. 100% agree about having multiple pairs of gloves too. Gotta be prepared for different weather conditions! Great video brother 👍
As always, great info. However, they need to keep wire ties also. As u know, their clutch. Keep putting out the videos, your reaching/teaching many 👍🏾👀👀🦅🦅🦅
One thing I have had a use for was a small pair of vice grips, maybe 6" at the smallest. I once lost the foot shifter on my 83 FLHT and didn't notice it until I had to down shift. I pulled over, shut the bike down, just took my vice grips out of my tool kit and clamped them on the shaft to use as a shift lever while I back tracked a couple miles and found the lever laying in the middle of the road. They were a life saver. Also, zip ties, a lot of uses. Great video and no ruffled feathers here.
I used to use tent / camp dry on my riding gear. I'm not sure if it really helped, but it made me feel better. Wear the FF helmet and carry the beanie helmet in case you need to give your 1-night stand a ride in a helmet required State. If she's drunk, use the bungees to strap her to the bike.
I always enjoy your vids. I started riding about ten years ago and do all my own maintenance. And I carry all the tools you showed. Funny thing though, in more than a quarter million miles, I've NEVER used the tools on the bike while on a trip. Guess I'm very lucky. A shout out for the High Viz stuff. Next to the full face helmet, truly a "must have". And one can't beat real leather for warmth and comfort. Stay safe!!
This information is what makes the difference in a nice ride and a epic ride ❤. Thanks for continuing to drop knowledge on the things needed, that people never share until an event happens. RideSafe 🌹
18:31 something I add to my mandatory to have kit.. zip ties and tape of some kind. (duct or electrical typically) Things tend to break on long trips, and you can "fix" things while on the road well enough to continue and hopefully until you get home to fix it properly.
Bessie is looking real good on your wall mural, I love that woman. And your right about rain on the face stinging so I have both my half shell, and full face only when needed, cold weather or rain.
Use your on-bike / travel tool kit to do some routine maintenance on your bike. Take off panels, pull fuses, air up your tires, etc. You should know what tools are needed.
A can of WD-40 or Ballistol, a small tube of blue loctite, a small tube or some of the little packs at the parts house register of dielectric grease, a headlamp preferably rechargeable and a couple microfiber towels for sure....and I wear prescription glasses so a spray bottle of lense cleaner...works great on visors too 😅
You're so right, my brother. I have most tools that will get me to point A to point B. Also, I have a harley Air pump. Have used my tools for lose bolts and helped my friend with his Harley when he broke down in Big Bend, Texas. And out there, you're on your own if not prepared. And I always wear the full-face. Excellent video, my brother. And I will share. Peace ✌🏾 and ❤to ya!
Good info here in this video, thanks for putting it together, GKue. Pre-planning is the key to an enjoyable road trip. Like a Boy Scout, it's best to be prepared for the unexpected. On a motorcycle trip one little thing, can cause a miserable day on the road, or worst yet being stranded on the side of the road.
My wife bought a full face helmet for me. Never have worn one before. I ride a naked 01 softail deuce, and the difference it made, physically (not as much wind buffering, so, less neck strain), on interstate riding, was incredible! Put some speakers in it for my tunes, and good to go! Will be upgrading to a nicer helmet soon. Good video!
Right on about all of it! With respect to gloves, have different weights. Temperature changes can be surprising, especially if you are riding in higher altitudes or after sundown. I try to avoid riding after sundown, but sometimes things happen on the road. 😁
Completely agree. Pudding bowl is all fun and games until your jaw scrapes across the pavement. I am thankful for my full face helmet every time I hear a rock smack my face shield. Convertible with flip down goggles are my favorite.
Great tips. I prescribe to the full face/ boots/ tools, and I use it. The tool kit is very closely related to my tools in the airplane! I do have a suggestion. As a career mechanic, a pair of Knipex pliers for your road tools. These things are awesome. You can get the most stubborn bolts out with these. Available everywhere. Additionally a roll of silicon tape (aka rescue tape) and a good length of safety wire (maybe bubble gum too. lol)
G. it used to cost me 15.00 to fuel my tank up now it cost me close to 30.00 -40.00 dollars a tank ur right it's on the west coast✌🏾thanks for all of the valuable tips.
Good info bro, I would also add, if you changed your shifter rod linkage keep the factory one in your bags, and also keep the shifter shaft, these are neglected maintenance parts, but I have seen it many times , those will leave you on the side of the highway ‼️👍🏾 Keep repin the boot bro‼️
Another great video!! I always travel with a couple of sugar free liquid IV packs and I keep a bottle of water in my bag. Reason for this, if I break down at least I will have hydration packets with electrolytes and water. ( hey warm wanted is better than none in an emergency) Living in the southwest desert of AZ, I ride during the summer with a camelbak also. Lots of sunscreen and chapstick.
Very nice and comprehensive list. Only thing I think you might have missed was ear protection. A set of earplugs will keep your ears from suffering from hearing loss or other hearing related issues. Keep up the good work brother!
7:51 damn straight. Just a few weeks ago i had an object hit me right in the visor while I was going 80, I would have lost my eye at least if I wasn't wearing my helmet.
Been watching u for a little while and I must say brother I’ve learned a thing or two from watching your videos keep up the good work and keep that rubber on the road
Back in the day like 1971 through 1980, motorcycle is used to come with a little tool kit. Now that little tool kit that you can buy at the dealer cost you $250. Kind of sleep right now. cool video with a lotta good points.
Great information. Just make sure there is rubber cement (glue) with the tire repair kit . Jump box jump pack, we all know what it is and how important it is to have one. Thanks again on a really good, tips, video.
Good info, thanks for sharing. We want the best experiences while traveling and it’s a good idea to be prepared and cognizant of some of the expenses associated with ground pounding. I have very little patience for someone who slows the group down for PPP, (Piss Poor Panning). That’s why I don’t care to ask benign questions when someone needs assistance, I’ll help as best I can without any questions.
X2 for us lol...I don't like to think about the amount of money we spend on fuel 😅😅😅...in 2022, we paid almost $10 per gallon in California. I keep telling TommyG we need to do more motocamping... He says we're too old lol... Great tips... Thank you! 💜🤗
All great points that you made in this video. Question: How do you gage hotel or motel stay? I always question room and board when I'm heading out. I sway towards comfort ..
Im more of a modular helmet guy. Ive been thinking about getting FF helmet though. I just like all you can do with a modular though 😅😅 dont even have to take it off
😂🎉 Bro. I was in Richmond Virginia last Saturday, traveling northbound on I 95 dot i see you traveling southbound on I 95.If that wasn't you got an imposter , bro
You left out one very important detail. Gotta keep different type of fuses on your bike. Never know when A fuse is going to Pop. PS. Great video. Are you going to Daytona Bike week in 2024
As always, Love your content. If the tool bag is working for you that’s great. I ride a Wing and the wife rides Street Glide. I keep my tools in a tool roll that holds all the HD and Honda needed tools as well as the small air compressor and small flashlight while keeping every tool in its place. Again, love that I can find a message in each one of your videos.
Practical advice. Ear protection and a simple water bottle are the other necessities that I would add.
Great point!
Totally agree on a full face helmet
PEACE…
The gas calculation was much needed THANK YOU.
Oh, and I like having ZIP TIES. 😆
Indeed!
One thing i keep in saddle bag is a small first aid kit and hand sanitizer just encase... and for long trips some lil packets of mustard.
All great tips. Full face is where it's at. Covered in all conditions. 100% agree about having multiple pairs of gloves too. Gotta be prepared for different weather conditions! Great video brother 👍

Appreciate you Bro , because of you I've learned how to always be prepared for being out on the road on my bike.
You learn something new everyday. Gonna get some bungees today!
Extra FOB battery in the toolbox and learn how to use the pin.. Great video brother!!

one clever individual very good advice. 10/10
Very professional

Can of fix a flat…and I love that
Pump compressor.. slim and doesn’t take much room
A can of WD-40 or Ballistol, a small tube of blue loctite, a small tube or some of the little packs at the parts house register of dielectric grease, a headlamp preferably rechargeable and a couple microfiber towels for sure....and I wear prescription glasses so a spray bottle of lense cleaner...works great on visors too 😅
Great advice. I do travel with a small cooler in my saddlebag for water and snacks that could melt in the warm weather. Thumbs up wheels down ✌️

Respect 🙏 and thank you!
Fantasic video sir and a ton of value and information for the viewer! Well done...
Good advice. I have made some short trips but no crazy long ones. Will watch this again when the time comes. Thank you!
Good info here in this video, thanks for putting it together, GKue.

Awesome!
I have the same Lexin portable pump, it works like a champ. It's not fast, but its dependable.
Thanks for the great information. I'm definitely adding some of the apps and tools to my current toolbag
No problem!
Right on about all of it! With respect to gloves, have different weights. Temperature changes can be surprising, especially if you are riding in higher altitudes or after sundown. I try to avoid riding after sundown, but sometimes things happen on the road. 😁
Great tips, especially about the full face helmet. I had a crouch rocket and I’ll never give up a full face helmet.
Completely agree. Pudding bowl is all fun and games until your jaw scrapes across the pavement. I am thankful for my full face helmet every time I hear a rock smack my face shield.
Convertible with flip down goggles are my favorite.
Pudding bowl!😂

Yep! Perfect! Thank youa
Oh I also have a turn off switch for my amp. Because if you still have the stock head unit the amp doesn’t turn off when the radio is off.
Good advice G! Rain bullets are no joke, ride safe bro
They hurt! Lol thank you
Back in the day like 1971 through 1980, motorcycle is used to come with a little tool kit. Now that little tool kit that you can buy at the dealer cost you $250. Kind of sleep right now. cool video with a lotta good points.
Would love to see some videos of you taking the road king on some long trips.
Yes, they're called jump boxes. And you need the needle-nose plyers to pluck those unruly nose hairs. 😂
Good video, thanks for sharing.
Those hairs definitely can get unwieldy lol
Great information. Just make sure there is rubber cement (glue) with the tire repair kit . Jump box jump pack, we all know what it is and how important it is to have one. Thanks again on a really good, tips, video.
Really good and useful tips my friend. Safe travels to you.
I keep a foot pump lol I got road king no charging ports lol good looking out
Very good content I keep a basic set of tools and first aid kit

Awesome same here have tools a few spare parts like shifter link and a hal air compressor with jumper capability. Goit stuff
I'm going to share this. We have some people going on this AZ run for the first time this will help them get prepared.
I appreciate that 🙏
Little brother, great points on essential gear when on two wheels, I would also add at least a basic first aid kit also.
Peace. ⚕
Correct!
You the Rain Maker bro!
Great tips! Funny you mentioned multiple pairs of gloves. I keep 2 extra pair in my bags.
It's a must!
RainEx for plastic visors works pretty good
Everything you named I have in my bag. I use accu weather for my weather app and 360. Good look

😎😎 gotta save costs some how 😊
Good advice, ride on!
Good information bro...
Those are all things we took on our Alaska trip ... Used the portable compressor several times... Thankfully we didn't need the plug kits!
Right! Everytime I feel like my handling isn't right I check my pressure!
Really enjoy You , a Youbgster so into this Riding culture
Man all great ideas and advice. Stay safe out there.
😎😎
Highly recommend you get a set of Rok Straps. Far, far better than the elastic cargo net.
Gotcha!
Wish I had that pump earlier. I caught a flat on I-10 in Mississippi just before the Louisiana line. Had to get my bike towed home.
Dang. Never too late to order!
Love your riding tips videos man, even the most experienced motorcycle rider can always learn something new.
I appreciate that!
Ridin an HD...I ALWAYS carry tools....It takes up half of one saddlebag....
