Absolutely right bro. People say that they'll ride with you 95% of the time they won't. All kind of excuses. Just get on your bike and ride cause if you wait on people you'll never go and you'll miss out on a lot
I know I've missed out on a lot because of the fear of the unknown. But you are absolutely correct waiting won't allow you to be great! thanks for watching!
100% right. Last year, a good friend of mine moved from northwest Indiana down to Kentucky. After settling in, he invited a few of his friends from the hoosier state to ride down for a quick trip to east Tennessee and Tail of the Dragon. I think maybe 5-8 people said they would be down to meet up for the ride, ut when the weekend came, every single one of them backed out. to be honest, even I wasn't sure that I was up to the ride, since that was the longest ride I'd ever done, but I figured what the hell - if I don't feel I can make it, I can always just turn around and go back home. 10 hours later, I was cruising through eastern Kentucky, having the time of my life. the next day, we rode out to the Dragon. I spent the night in Gatlinburg, rested up and headed home the next morning. Did I learn some valuable lessons about myself and long distance riding? Yes. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.
Just the words I needed to hear mate... I'm from the UK and been saving and patiently waiting for over fifteen years to see the USA by way of motorcycle. Mortgage, job, family, dogs. It all had to come first but now I'm finally free to hit the road. In April this year I'll be flying my bike into JFK, then down to Key West. Followed by 3-months and 14000+ miles of open road. I'll hit 26 states by the time I finish in San Diego. Am I nervous, damn right. Will I still go. ABSOLUTELY!
I did an 1800 mile trip a few years ago to see my grand kids by myself. Second time I had done it and would rather ride by myself. First trip my buddy at work had just passed away, gave me a lot of time to contemplate life without interruption from anyone. You also can ride as fast/slow, as long as you want without worrying about other people
Just came across this video. I prefer to ride with others but far to often others are not available for various reasons, job, family, etc. Rather than not go, I pack my Road King 👑 up and become a king of the road. You brought up some great points! Bottom line if you prepare properly, riding alone maybe not be as much fun as riding with others but it’s still fun!! FYI - I am 76 years old.
That initial feeling is normal. I’ve been riding for a long time now. I’ve also been riding Harley’s for 16 years and I still get that anxious feeling for the first 20 minutes of riding. My wife just started riding about two years now and it was the first thing that she mentioned. I gave her the same advice. What your doing is something that is not natural to your mind thus it takes a few minutes to settle into the groove.
I know this video was published more than a year and a half ago, but I just came across it and feel the need to tell you how much I appreciate it. Your message was spot on and so valuable.
I’ve enjoyed many solo trips on my bike! Being on my own schedule and pace is very relaxing. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life on the road as I have ridden through the Rockies, Smokey Mountains, Gulf Coast, down to Key West, through the Appalachian Mountains and much more. Love to ride with friends but totally comfortable traveling alone.
Just did a 3730mile solo trip to Quebec from Ontario, went as far north as you can go(end of the road) in eastern North America(chisasibi quebec)first day was 1000 miles. No gas for 240 miles on that road, i camp on my trips and prefer solo, own pace, own schedule. Really glad I found your channel
I know I'm a little late to the party here. First I would like to praise your mom. We all are a product of our up bringing. I can see in you, that your mom did an amazing job. You can tell she was a kind soul because I see that in you. I feel her ticket to heaven was a first class one with honors! I myself had a near fatal wreck in my Sport Bike on July 10th 2016. I feel asleep somehow and simply tried to take the offroad route....unknowingly! My whole left side of my body was obliterated. I nearly lost my left leg below the knee but God graced me and provided a Doctor that was able to piece it back together. A major shoulder surgery followed that along with years of issues due to the head injury I suffered. Luckily I did not buy cheap gear and my helmet was the safest helmet for that time otherwise I probably would not be here or I could be using only half my brain.......more so than normal of course. The upside is that I enjoy riding more now than before the wreck. I am more attentive to my surroundings and for damn sure my body. We all have bad things in our lives that happen that we can learn from. This taught me that life can be short, shit happens. But when shit happens you just clean it up and soldier on. You don't hide from what hurt you, you ride the shit out of it until you can't anymore. Don't let trivial things stop you from enjoying life. If you have to go it alone do so. Don't let fear guide you, let fear teach you. I am glad I got turned on to your channel. I seriously admire you man! One day, God willing, I hope we cross paths at some point. I want to give you a huge handshake and a huge hug. You're an inspiration for many that fear the unknown. I, like you< embrace the fear. Peace and love brother........and I do mean brother. I got your six anytime! Peace Army has a new faithful member.....for life!
I agree on almost all points. Planning and having a level of confidence is key to long distance. You gotta know you'll make it. You can't hit a gym and run 5 miles on the belt and bench 200 in round 1. You need to train. Build muscle memory, stamina and confidence. TAKE THE MSF SAFETY COURSE. A huge confidence boost in itself, and will train you to look where you want to be ( a must in riding and life) and the proper technique to make it happen. Knowing your bike is key. If you don't know, regular checkups and scheduled maintainance at a service place you trust is vital. Gear is important every ride. Dress for the slide, not the ride. I've been down once. My noggin is fine, the Arai was not. Plenty of good gear at reasonable prices on the web. Go live. Life is not risk free. Keep on G Kue. I'm enjoying your vlog and your attitude. You got the tiger by the tail brah.
He’s absolutely right! I still get nervous before and during the first part of the ride. It’s so fun though once you’re riding and you can’t turn back !!
The month of January was rough this year (‘24) here where I live. It was cold, below freezing for over a full week. We had snow on the ground for over a week too. Then, we had lots of rain. I rode more in one day in February already than I did in the whole month of January. I’m lookin’ forward to riding to Daytona Bike Week in a little over 3 weeks.
Great video. I always ride alone. My trip, my pace and to stop when I want to. Many people that I know are afraid to take the first step and to just do it. NO REGRETS
Wow! This was a great video, Like I said before I found you video and I’ve been watching as many as I can, you are absolutely right know your machine, my father always taught my no matter what you drive learn what is under the hood and as a woman that’s important, I bought my CanAm Spyder 6 years ago I drove for 2 days then took it apart so I can see what I’m working with.. my first solo trip was after my father pass and it was very spiritual and I had so much peaceful, also joining a group also help because you do learn so much more, but all this information is real nothing but the truth, solo trips I love them you get up when need to and leave when it’s time. Thank you
Much respect! I love the channel 2 yrs later but I'm here and subscribed..this video inspired me to ride more. To be honest I was scared to ride solo and always waited for a crew of riders to ride with me. After checking out this, I felt like you were talking to me my brother... and now I feel confident and inspired to ride solo if I have to... I needed this video... thanks !! G kue.. safe travels bro..
G-Kue, Thanks for sharing this episode. As a fellow "Road Glider", I love your positive input even when some of the scenarios aren't ideal (rain, wind, mechanical downfalls). You seem to always find something positive to share. I have been falling your channel of over a year now and have shared your content with all my riding partners. Continued blessings and safe riding. Hopefully our paths will cross. I am here in the DMV (Fort Washington, Maryland). Roy Graves
Use to be like that my twin Brother and I would ride together when I had a Dyna. My twin was killed 12 years ago someone snuck and hit him in the neck and he was paralyzed for two months. C4 spinal cord injury, he Died of blood clots and heart attack. After he died I bought my 2006 Street Glide, took me a while to ride by myself, and then I realized I wasn’t alone he was still with me. So I rode state line to state line. Never alone JDUBB is always with me.
First of all I want to say sorry for your loss my brother, you are right about riding alone, I use to wait on people to ride with me and now when I ready to go, the wife and I will just take off for a 3/4 hour ride, then back home, my wife loves to ride with me, we ride 2 up take care my friend
You inspired me to go plan a trip to AZ from PA to visit my daughter and granddaughter next year. You’re right, I don’t need anyone to go, yes, The more the merrier but I’ll be just fine with the wind
@@davidmatias6239 I've learned that less is more in some instances. You truly get to learn more about yourself and your bike. Please... Be safe Be cool Be you PEACE ✌️ ☮️
I always Love reflecting on this video since I been watching. Much Respect to you for what you are doing. Thanks for the Motivation. Can t wait to get back out there. Just got to decide Road King (Not) Road Glide or Street Glide and then just do it. If I have to go by myself . Joel
Great video, you must have been talking directly to me. Been riding my harley since late 2019 and haven't taken any long rides yet but looking forward to doing so. I am getting to the point where I don't have a problem riding alone. Yes it is more fun when you ride with your buddies but sometimes you got to out your comfort zone and do it. Thanks for the inspiration, it will truly help. Be safe
I just got my first Harley Davidson in August of 2020 I've been trying to get my nerves up to do a long distance ride. Because I can't find anyone to ride with me as well. But I dont want that to stop me. When this weather break I would love to ride to New Orleans. Love this video I'm getting nervous and I ain't even planned the trip yet 🤣🤣🤣. But one day I would like to meet up and just meet you in person you have given me a little bit more confidence. Thanks I know we only live once. God bless 🙏 G Kue!
Thank you for this valuable info. I am 60 years old and always wanted a bike and I finally got a a bike a 2013 Road Glide CVO custom 2 as my 1st. I just bought it Feb 12th. I haven't ridden a motorcycle before and watching your video's as well as others. This country is beautiful and I want to do that. Even though I have never ridden before I always go and start it and check the bike over . Funny as it may seem I have my owners manual in my hand and looking and following some instructions on maintaining the bike. I appreciate any tips you may have I know I asked before but I trust your info my brother. 1st thing I learned from a fellow youtuber Robert Simmons was to change put those plastic swing arm cover that Harley has on their touring bike to Furagati Design swing arm covers which I bought with the quickness and waiting for them to arrive.
My condolences bro to and your family.. Great video and definitely has me rethinking my love for spreed and more wanting to see more then local mountains & tracks..
Dude you so real great video keep riding. I haven't gone on a road trip iv only gone an hour away I want to go but idk I just think something gonna go wrong then I'm never gonna do it again
If you ever make a trip out west and want to see some of Utah, let me know. There’s great rides just about everywhere but Utah is pretty special. I’ll ride with you. Live a little south of Salt Lake.
Bro. this video is so powerful and encouraging. I am new to riding and I been waiting on someone to ride with, but you have encouraged me to get out there and ride. Thanks
Just watched this video and it happens to be Mother’s Day. I am sure you are missing her today but take comfort in that she is still watching over you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hey man I just got my first bike. It’s 09 Yamaha vstar 1300. I’m 24 and I always wanted a Harley bagger. But, I will get one eventually. Can’t decide between the Street Glide or Road Glide. I’ll just have to test ride them both. Ride and stay safe brother. Much love from Louisiana.
You definitely read my mind on this one. I’m one of the guys that ride local to where I live. My typical ride is about an hour. I stay off major highways. My problem is that I’m scared of the drivers around me.
Take it easy and break it up in steps if need be....hop on a highway and get off at the 1st exit...next time do 2....then 3 etc. You'll build your confidence up! Be safe and thanks for watching!
I ride solo.....always have. I have friends with bikes, but, they never wanna ride like I do. I've ridden from GA, to Birmingham, biloxi, savannah, Jacksonville, by myself...it doesn't bother me, as I can keep my own.schedule. Hopefully, they'll get out on long rides. Stay safe
@JustGKue that's how I figure it'll go. Like when you're single, you find that someone when your not actively looking. Life just happens. I'm just enjoying every moment, every mile, on my bike
The motivation that I needed to grow my riding was in this video. I hope it continues to live on and encourage others. RideSafe ❤️ SisterBigBone WomenOfTheWind-WOTW
Hey G kue , enjoyed your vid - you touched on a very coherent topic for me in that I'm a lone wolf rider for now , haven't always been , but I know what you mean that 1st 30 miles on the road butterflies riding a big bike.....
Because the motorcycle is a high precision metaphysical device that meshes with the rider . You and the bike become one entity after about half an hour of warming up to the bike 🚲 . Until that moment of "ONENESS" you'll have that fear and respect because death always rides with us and tries to keep us from it's embrace....
Amen brother... I would love to ride with a group but I do not hesitate to ride alone. I may be riding to Oklahoma from NC in July I'm trying to get a group together but I may end up riding alone.
Bro - that’s great advice. Appreciate your real talk man. I just got back from a long road trip and now heading to Americade in Sept….solo trip unless some of dudes wanna cruise. Either way, I’m out next month. Thanks again good brother.
Money and leaving my animals hold us back. I am retired so I have the time. Been to Arkansas twice this summer and looking to get to Tennessee. We rode with another couple for the Arkansas ride but going solo for the next trip.
@@JustGKue We love your channel and I look forward to meeting you someday. I don't think we live 50 miles apart. Stay positive and keep being yourself.
Got dam man your speech is spot on as far as people discouraging you to ride far by your myself but every time I ask other people to ride with me on a long trip it's always some B's excuse and I said screw this I want to do a long distance trip I went to Daytona from Philly loved every bit of it but my dream trip is to do cross country trip so this year I got the vacation time and I'm riding to Sturgis south Dakota from Philly 1700 miles one way everyone I asked b!tch and complained about going all they want to do is make excuses so I said the hell with it I'm riding my Kawasaki Vulcan voyager over there I'm super excited for this coming August and either this year or next key west is next up also I had a accident on my sport bike broken pelvis so I definitely understand your struggle with your accident but guys like you and queen sit shadetree surgeon you guys inspired me to do this trip
Once you do it you will feel so liberated! Do not let them stop you! Prepare yourself mentally and physically and you got this! Let me know how everything goes! I'm just trying to help people get out and on the road! #be safe
I prefer to ride alone which is a good thing as all my buds have quit riding due to their age. I'll start my 73rd year next week and my wife is getting a bit nervous about my riding. Time will tell... time will tell. I gave up the big heavy cruisers a few years ago, but any bike can hurt you.
Hey Bro I just want to say you and another of other Moto Vlogers creat so much motivation man I JUST WANT TO SAY I APPRECIATE IT, MAYBE 1 DAY ILL MEET YALL ON THE ROAD #2WHEELLIFE #MYLIFE
You're Absolutely Correct With Those Viewpoints G...Dan I Wish I've Known You Were In The D, I Would've Definitely Linked Up With You Bro... I'm Literally 10 Mins Away From Motown Harley... With They Connin Ass... When I Seen You At Motown Harley, I Was Like Dam!!! That's GQ....
I'm from Martinsville Va I feel like when I do ride I have peace and I'm also a truck driver so lol I'm by myself and but I still would like the company with a riding buddy
Not a Harley guy, but I have NEVER ridden with anyone else. I ride an adventure bike and I want to go to where I want. I don't know if this "group ride" thing is more of a cruiser bike thing or what. Thoughts? Of course, it may be that I don't have any friends that actually have bikes either. LOL
i almost prefer it riding alone just gotta find the time and hit them state lines i know i got some homies that will ride with thats always extra motivation im a loner but i realize its strength in numbers
Thanks for the solid advice and encouragement! My condolences & prayers in the passing of your mother. What action camera & editing software do you use? Continue to ride safely and enjoy. 👍🏿👍🏿

You inspired me to go plan a trip to AZ from PA to visit my daughter and granddaughter next year. You’re right, I don’t need anyone to go, yes, The more the merrier but I’ll be just fine with the wind

I always Love reflecting on this video since I been watching. Much Respect to you for what you are doing. Thanks for the Motivation. Can t wait to get back out there. Just got to decide Road King (Not) Road Glide or Street Glide and then just do it. If I have to go by myself

No doubt friend...take your time and be safe.
Did a solo ride from Texas to Mississippi first time and it was amazing!
Yes! It's a whole new level of peace and adventure
Dude, I like your channel. I’m currently in same boat but the more I listen to you, the more my confidence is rising
We all gain confidence slowly. Nothin wrong with that as long as your progressing to your goals!
Be safe
Thanks for the kind words, we all need to branch out to become more comfortable with ourselves riding!
Be safe!
Glad i could be a little bit of help! Hit me up on my Instagram @JustGKue and lmk when you're coming down! #besafe
@@JustGKue I sure will but first I will have to get me an Instagram account. Lol keep up the good work bro.
Excellent video!
Thank you so much!

Condolences for your loss. Thanks for the inspiration! Good video
Thank you so much! I'll continue to try and put more content out. Thanks for watching!
Riding alone is very enjoyable I road from Sunrise Florida to Milwaukee WI alone 21 1/2 hrs
It definitely can be. I like a good mix of both.
no better way to see this awesome country on a motorcycle
I didnt realize how much it had to offer until I got to see it on 2 wheels! simply amazing!

I am extremely humbled. the world's am oyster but there's pearls all around us. We just gotta go get them. Thanks for watching!
Really feeling what you said about taking 30 minutes or so to settle in.. Ive only been riding 8 years but still get it.

If you ever make a trip out west and want to see some of Utah, let me know. There’s great rides just about everywhere but Utah is pretty special. I’ll ride with you. Live a little south of Salt Lake.
Thank you!

Ain't nothing to it but to do now brother!
Thank you for watching!
Bro. this video is so powerful and encouraging. I am new to riding and I been waiting on someone to ride with, but you have encouraged me to get out there and ride. Thanks
Please do! All you can do is prepare and go! Take short trios and then push yourself slowly!
My sincere condolences! Great video! 💯🖤💯🖤💯

Just watched this video and it happens to be Mother’s Day. I am sure you are missing her today but take comfort in that she is still watching over you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank u...yea its tough today
Hey man I just got my first bike. It’s 09 Yamaha vstar 1300. I’m 24 and I always wanted a Harley bagger. But, I will get one eventually. Can’t decide between the Street Glide or Road Glide. I’ll just have to test ride them both. Ride and stay safe brother. Much love from Louisiana.
that's awesome bro! I'm from Louisiana as well. I prefer the roadglide but u can't go wrong with either choice! thanks for watching
@@JustGKue Oh ok cool. I’m from Monroe Louisiana.
Stay safe
It started that way for me...and then I found my tribe of ppl.
@JustGKue that's how I figure it'll go. Like when you're single, you find that someone when your not actively looking. Life just happens. I'm just enjoying every moment, every mile, on my bike
sorry to hear about your mom. i lost my mom as well. God bless

Hey G kue , enjoyed your vid - you touched on a very coherent topic for me in that I'm a lone wolf rider for now , haven't always been , but I know what you mean that 1st 30 miles on the road butterflies riding a big bike.....
It never fails to hit every single time lol
Because the motorcycle is a high precision metaphysical device that meshes with the rider . You and the bike become one entity after about half an hour of warming up to the bike 🚲 . Until that moment of "ONENESS" you'll have that fear and respect because death always rides with us and tries to keep us from it's embrace....
Amen brother... I would love to ride with a group but I do not hesitate to ride alone. I may be riding to Oklahoma from NC in July I'm trying to get a group together but I may end up riding alone.

My condolences brother.

Plan prepare and execute brother...you got this
@@JustGKue We love your channel and I look forward to meeting you someday. I don't think we live 50 miles apart. Stay positive and keep being yourself.

the video i needed to see/hear. just go do it. just pull up. on any bike.
Yessir! Just do it!

What do you ride now?
Hey Bro I just want to say you and another of other Moto Vlogers creat so much motivation man I JUST WANT TO SAY I APPRECIATE IT, MAYBE 1 DAY ILL MEET YALL ON THE ROAD #2WHEELLIFE #MYLIFE

Motorcity definitely treated ya boy good...but that Motown can kiss my ass man lol.
@@JustGKue Motown Is Horrible... If You Woulda Even Remotely Inquired About Buying A Bike, They Would've Treated You Like A King 💯
I'm from Martinsville Va I feel like when I do ride I have peace and I'm also a truck driver so lol I'm by myself and but I still would like the company with a riding buddy
Every once in a while I like riding solo and in groups..I can do either or.
LOL
😅😅😅
Good pointners brother
Love that man don't wait for people iv lost friends because I didn't wait iv lost girls friends cuz I didn't wait but your right don't wait
