Among the best stuff ive listened to in a long time. We need progressive politics that solves problems and improves lives for regular people. It shouldnt be that hard.
An outsider's take on the American scene: The day will come when the world will be able to negotiate with America. Many consumer-citizens stateside might say go for it! There are big oil and lithium reserves in Persia. Plus, with Trump's grand declarations about Greenland, Mongolia, Canada, and the Panama Canal, America looks primed to become number 1 again! As a European visitor to your shores some years ago, I can tell you that many of my peers and colleagues back home still look up to America as being a beacon of hope and idealism for the world. Many Europeans are overwhelmed by the sheer immensity of its big box shopping infrastructure when they visite the US. When I stayed in Cherry Hill, NJ, a couple of years ago, I made it a point to do daily shopping at the local big box. Even though the terrain in and around Cherry Hill is rather flat, I still nicknamed the area-"The Shining Big Box on the Hill". When I landed at Philadelphia International, I collected my baggage and went straight to the car rental agency. One might assume, that being European, I would've rented a compact car. But, no! When one travels abroad, one must do like the locals and go big or go home. I opted for the oversized Mazzerrati Humvee with built-in-the-dash adderall dispenser. To my enjoyment, it came equipped with a life sized portrait of Alina Habba strutting her stuff while walking down Madison Avenue dressed as the Virgin Mary. Anyway, to conclude, I think that the US is ready for total domination under Trump and his sidekick/doppelganger-minister of foreign policy and international affairs, Dr. Quincy Magoo.
Mark, would you really be buying crypto when it bursts? That is the literal falling knife to catch. And there is no bottom. There is no inherent value. When Ford stock drops, at least they are making cars and people buy cars because they need them to move around and ultimately make money. There is nothing I can do with crypto that I could not do without it.
Excellent segment, very interesting discussion and great you plan to have another one in 3 months! Things are changing fast nowadays. It really feels like EU is in the weakest situation geopolitically but also seems to lack real, brave and innovative leadership. Would be really intersting to hear some more analysis on that.
Mark it would be nice if you were a little more direct. I got the impression this interviewer didn't get it, especially when he said the centre will hold one more time. Yes, financialised economy has destroyed the structure of society, and yes, the climate is not a matter of opinion; but you can't really just keep on this track of colonial terrorism. The sh.. has hit the fan and they have ramped it up another gear. All the tools are there, but the time has come to change direction and the centre will not do it. Look at the east and the answers are all there, socialism is not a dirty word, it's just not great for disgustingly rich people getting richer and ordinary people are being flushed down the pan. We need real news and real production, real jobs and free training for the workers doing the work. You have pointed this out and they don't get it do they!
Frank and enlightened conversation thank you both ❤

The EU is horrible but the UK leaving is stupid?
Leaving could be the saving of the EU … though need to dump @uklabour at next General Election
@JohnCorrUK How would leaving the EU save it? It's been 6-7 years and it's just gotten even more feckless.
"...the E.U. is horrible..." - the internet has made your brain rot
Thoroughly enjoyed
the public relies on the protections provided by some key regulation...there must be a balance and a smart process too.
