Those who tell you is not safe meant well. If there is still an ongoing civil war in parts of the country, they probably have a point. With you having someone on ground who felt safe to go with you, that helps. It doesn't mean that those who told you not to go to Addis Ababa or this new city are wrong. May God continue to keep you safe wherever you go.
Those who told you this city is not safe are the one who hate the Amhara . to be honest Amhara region is the safest and most friendly people i have ever meet in the entire country. I was visited Ethiopia six month ago and been in different places but the most i enjoyed is the city of Gondar and Bahir dar city . people are nice and yhe city's are clean and greener .
wow born and live Addis Ababa but i ever visit this place only one time and long ago its changed a lot become big city thank you u make me initiated to visit a place again!
I just returned form to the US from Ethiopia. During our return flight there was a layover in Dublin Ireland. My family and children were stuck in an isolated section of the airport like prisoners for 9 hrs with no food and just one ration of water. I noticed that there were only a handful of whites and everyone else was African or diasporans. As I was standing there with the swelling crowd of discontent, I thought about the struggles of African travelers in this world of colonization and systematic oppression. My Queen advised that Ethiopian Airlines should have made sure that their customers would be taken care of. However, Dublin Airport treated paying customers like refugees, rationing water! I'm giving you this story to express the new found respect I have specifically for African and African diasporan travelers, RESPECT. 🙌🏿 I miss Ethiopia and the beautiful, loving people! 🇪🇹 🙌🏿 Bahir Dar, Lake Tana, Amsal Mitkie Traditional House was so much fun. Traditional dancing and great Tej (Ethiopian drink). It is surreal to watch your video from the US after being blessed with the privilege of touring that beautiful country. Thank God for my extended Ethiopian family. 🇪🇹 🙌🏿 I spent an entire month in Ethiopia, flew from Addis to Gondar. Then drove cross country to Bihar Dar. Yes there were check points along the way, however I remember one of the soldiers giving me a fist bump and a smile after. I think there was a genuine appreciation for the fact that an African American didn't allow western media to brainwash one of its own with fear. I see now just how blessed I was to experience such a rear jewel. There is NO PLACE ON PLANET EARTH with that level of hospitality! 🇪🇹 🙌🏿
Bahir Dar is indeed clean and beautiful.Hawassa ,Dire Dawa and Bahir Dar are my favourite cities in Ethiopia. Thanx African Tigress and Habesha Traveller for this nice vlog.
Well, Actually. Africa is heavily corrupted, with soaring inflation. Wasting valuable resources and is trusting China creating massive debt problems and China stripping away their most important buildings. Also, with soaring population’s they can barely control. Africa will fall into rebellions, debt, and taken advantage of by China, The US, Europe and soon enough even the world. Africa has beauty, yes. But will they be able to keep it?
Hi AT. Good video and a much needed intro to less known places in Africa. The music and song sounds Mexicana/ Spanish , not African. AT please give details about it. Thank you. Good work, keep it up and Good Luck.
