There is no basic VRP algorithm. The naïve method is never used since it takes too long to calculate every solution. Metaheuristics such as genetic algorithms, branch and bound algorithm, tabu search or ants algorithms are often used. You can obviously google this for more information.
We believe that a Routing solution needs to be returned at a reasonable time for users so we decided not to explore the direction of Genetic Algorithm which will requires huge (wasting) computing time and power. Hope this helps to answer your question.
