    I have the same speakers and you can EQ the harshness out of the Tweeter and up the mid base mid-range. It also depends on what receiver you're using I'm using a Yamaha RX V6A receiver.

    If the woofer doesn't have an orange foam long throw ring around it, then it isn't an "authentic Cerwin Vega" according to many fans. Klipsch has great speakers, but so does Cerwin Vega. The V xF series of Cerwin Vega was an experimentation that the company quickly reversed course on. I'm a huge Cerwin Vega fan btw.

      That's not true in every case. I've seen quite a few Vega speakers with black surrounds. Please don't spread misinformation. Thanks

      @@therockman6482 Thanks for the clarification, but I only said it isn't authentic according to many fans (not all fans). I think orange surrounds are synonymous with Cerwin Vega. Actually, corporations can own colors nowadays, for instance UPS has some sort of protections for its trademark brown color. So do a host of other corporations (for their trademark colors). Cerwin Vega (if they don't already) needs to have the trademark orange surround.

      Many of their speakers, especially in the earlier years didn't have a red surround.

    I love both brands as I own both but I have to say in this video those klipsch speakers sound crystal clear. They definety have the best tweeter. Nothing compares to their titanium tweeter. But i agree they should have tuned one of tge woofers for dedicated midrange it does seem to be lacking midrange and my kliptsch floor speakers are the same way and my cerwin vega 15" floors are way more sensitive and loud for midrange, i use them as my rear channels. They pair nicely together with kliptsch

    The Klipsch for sure. The Vegas are good for loud listening

    Definitely the Klipsch sound is better, but if my unic choice are CV V10F, is good inverter or not?, I have an old yamaha natural sound, and some person is selling me that CV speakers

    I have a set of V12s subs. I really like the look of the V series. I have never heard them, other than subs, how is the sound in real life?

      I prefer the vintage cv

    • @ericnortan9012
      @ericnortan9012 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@boseandfriends9284 For sure. Mine were made in Simi Valley, CA. That holds some value to me, but if they sound like garbage I wouldn't be interested in them any further. I have no plans to go out and get them, but it's good info if I ever came across them. The subs aren't anything special, they do the job on a surround system.

    I used to own a pair of Cerwin Vega AT-15's back in the 90s, they sounded great and impressed friends & neighbors (except when they complained about noise levels lol), It seems CV was in its prime in the 90s and slowly declined in both sound & build quality ever since.

    The older cerwin vegas are much better I think that’s just a new cheap Chinese one new ones are just so poorly built I have a pair of AT 15 and AT12 and VS 120 and VS 150 and they all are great speakers they can take a pounding. But great comparison 👍👍

    • @ericnortan9012
      @ericnortan9012 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've owned and heard several CVs over the years. My favorite were AT12 but I rebuilt a set of VS 100 and man them things smoke. I bought a set of the Gibson CVs (built in China) SL 15 a few years back in hopes of that old school 3 way sound. They sound pretty good, not comparable to some of their best, but comparable to many. I would say the boxes and crossovers are of similar quality to most of their models, the SLs seem to be somewhere between a fine chipboard and real MDF, 3/4". The woofers are where the old ones kill the new ones. SL has steel, XLS has cast but I hear the boxes are terrible. If they would have put the XLS woofers in the SL boxes you basically have a DC15, or a little brother anyway. I have my doubts, but Gibson sold them and the new company may have some plans. I think they only care about car audio though.

    What song are you playing with this test? Its great. Thank you for showing this test. Cerwin Vega is more of a PA type of speaker. It is built on loud performance. So you have the harshness between the Tweeter and Mid-range.

    I have the rp280f. I never listened to cerwin Vega. Paired with my Yamaha receiver and given about six months for break in, the Klipsch don't sound harsh. They do with Denon. It took about 100 runs with ypao to get it where I like it. I also had to use the Denon calibration mic rather than the supplied Yamaha mic. I noticed I would get the speakers sounding good but later they sounded bad again--i think that was showing what was happening with the break in period. After about 6 months, it seemingly stopped changing sound from time to time.

    Cerwin Vega makes good woofers. Tweeters and midranges? Not so much.

  • @Noavaileblenames

    If you like the sound of that CV V-10f (which by the way is the cheapest and worst speaker series ever produced by Cerwin) imagine what you would think of a pair of AL-750's? (Or even DC-12's). Which is one of the best sounding CV's made. Look them up, you can thank me later
