Love the 280fs, sound better in my opinion more alive than the 8000f. The fact that we have divided opinions seems to me that you can go with whatever is cheaper. Both sound great but my ears go for the 280s

The RP-280f seem to carry the mids and highs a little better. Thats what i run now and I love them, There both great sounding speakers.

The 8000f's sound warmer in comparison to me. That vented tweeter has definitely smoothed out that Klipsch sound.

Although discontinued I was able to get a closeout deal from an authorized dealer for a pair of RP-280FA (the ones with the Dolby Atmos speakers cut out on top) for $700. I do like the brighter highs of the RP-280 in your demo but was wondering if you're familiar with the older R-26F Reference series? I am upgrading from those 6.5" woofers to these 8" with Atmos speakers and would be my first Premiers. I know the msrp on the 280FA were over $2K when they first came out and their current RP-8060a replacements are listed for $3K, but I'm wondering if I'll hear a significant improvement in sound, especially music, upgrading from an entry level Reference series? Great comparison video btw.

How are you liking the RP-280FA? I am getting my this week. These are going to be my first Klipsch speakers.

@Bishal Bk Unfortunately life has gotten in the way so they're still in the boxes to be installed a couple weeks from now after my final travels since I got them. I'll let you know as soon as I hook them up.
I love the Klipsch sound with those bright highs so if you like treble and a large sound you should like the Klipsch. Let me know what you think when you hook yours up.

@@davelyew4645 Im finally all done setting up the speakers and they sound amazing. However, I don't think there is enough bass on these speakers as people say so i ended ordering a subwoofer also. Paired with Klipsch 12" sub they sound amazing. I hope you will get to set yours up soon.Cheers!

@Bishal Bk I have a pair, I really like them! My first pair of klipsch to... I'm a def tech guy.

@Bishal Bk Good ro hear. I'm still in the midst of lots of traveling so they're still in their boxes along with a new Onkyo RZ-50 AVR I'm going to pair with them. I'm a bass head so my preference will always be subwoofers for that so these 280FAs will be coupled with a pair of SW-10s which I already love. Your review makes me want to go unbox those speakers now but I know I have to wait a few more weeks to do them properly.

Nice to hear them side by side. Which speaker do you prefer for music ?

Hey :) I prefer the RP8000F because they have a little bit more Bass and the heights are for me better. But they are both really great

@@flavis35 what i get from this comparison is, that the RP8000 has bit more controlled/balanced heights (more airy, abit stepped back) compared to the RP280 ( a bit more forward, piercing) and the RP8000 has improved bass (tighter) and sounds to more balanced in the mid section for that reason. I would see the rp280 more for movies with those heights and the rp 8000 more for music purpose. :)

The 8000’s have more open natural sounding highs. The rp280’s have a slight notch or bump up in the high treble EQ range. To my ears. The 8000’s are basically a big boy version of the extremely popular rp600m’s, fwiw. I’m actually getting a pair of the 600’s this evening that may replace the RP280’s I have in a left-right 7.2 surround sound LR theater.

I have the 8000f but i think the tweeter is less loud in this speaker. I like more the 280 the have better tweeter. Anyway good speakers both of them . Im think to Change the tweeters from 280 with tha same 8000f crossover.
