- We attempt to start a 1988 Kenworth K100E that has been sitting untouched for 9 years. It has a Cummins 400 big cam IV engine, 18spd with 38,000lbs rear diffs.

How's it guys, thank you for bringing back to life that beast. I live in Zambia Africa and used to watch BJ and the bear and we had a few of those Kenworths running around. I must say, they were head turners.
I ended up driving trucks in in southern Africa then in Australia. I've had a soft spot for the American truck engine since I could remember. Nothing comes close to the Jake brake. Keep up the good work and keep the old school truck alive. Cheers from Africa.
What did you pay for it Mike? 5-10 grand i imagine? If you don't wanna answer i understand.
He said in an earlier video that he offered 5k canadian. Of course what he offered might not be what he paid for it. If the price is in that ballpark then it's a steal. ^^
It´s always nice to watch group of guys working around old truck. Somewhere on old scrap yard or middle in the woods. You can hear voices of different tools, a compressor or aggregat keep noise on the back round. Everyone has a waiting moody, they joke with each other. Then it starts to make smoke signals from the pipes and starts, that´s a amazing feeling. After that you even get it move by own power, thats always an awesome feeling. It’s a moment when a man who loves old trucks and machines knows he’s alive.

You can get a hold of Day Cab and they have the inside Stock color or any color interior to completely replace all of your interior They do Pete's and KW Truck's

I like that you have nice long videos and completed stages. Watching a bunch of guys crawling all over it smiling like jackasses chewing briers, reminds me of when my friends and I work on projects like this and I tell them , if our wives saw us doing things like this, they would think we were nuts. It's testosterone fulled action-packed great time.

keeping it the same length, flat bedding it, and turning into an RV hauler or something would be cool, with the short wheel base it would make turning quite easy.
The frame rails are severely rusted, so cut and replace as a minimum.
the frame is in bad shape i would cut the old frame and weld in a new frame cut off

First big step is all done. Getting her running and having her move under her own power and holding air like she's doing congratulations on that. As far as a frame when you got to fix it, I would stretch it a little but not overboard. Hope to see more videos of the rebuild coming soon, good luck, congratulations

I thought for sure you'd kill every mosquito in the PG area old 855 Cummins engines like to belch out the blue surprisingly it didn't smoke. Its got a bad injector thou I could see the white smoke in the exhaust, didn't have the big cam knock. Do they brine the hell out of the roads in PG? how did the frame get so rusted? The air in PG from pulp mills that corrosive? The money spending begins just like owning a boat lol.

I’m sitting here chuckling, I’ve overhauled many of these engines over the years, and see no one really is familiar with the engine. When rad troubles happen, and not very many people are familiar with the low flow cooling I switch the engine back to regular cooling. Easier to maintain, at 78 years of age still repair and overhaul these engines. Good luck on the fixer upper.
I love this tractor, guys, let's give it a second life, we have such a ride in Russia, I often meet them and I want to take one for myself
I live in Illinois and I know it not feasible to drive to Illinois to get the frame fixed but there is a place called LINCO in El peso Illinois that will rebuild doubles frames. They take the frame apart clean out the rust and put the frame back together.

I am from india and iam big fan of peterbilt or kenworth. It cost 1 2 or 3 cror in india.

Have to say originally I wasn't in favor of this project... But in retrospect I have to say....beauty is in the eye of the beholder....any old truck is worth saving..... especially if it's a KW or a Pete.

My landlord has an old Ford cabover with a flatbed trailer out in the woods behind my place. It has been sitting there at least ten years, probably twenty. I know all he wants is scrap value for it. He hasn't done anything with it because it's surrounded by trees and he's getting on up in age. Once it cools off and the mosquitoes die out for the winter, I might go give it a good look over and if I think I can save it, I might just get permission to try to get it going, and if so, buy it from him.

I had to stop watching after about 15 minutes because the person behind the camera was making me facepalm so much . Like what are you even doing in a place like that if your that scared of a semi truck starting up . Pretty sure my 7 year old daughter would be more brave then that .
yeah that was my youngest son. I just handed him the camera and said record this, LOL he's a bit of a Jam tart.

I remember the day of swapping in a Big cam 400 with 13 speed in the old 1973 W900. Pulled out the Super 290. Wow, thought I was a Super Trucker...Lol. Had the pump reworked and was a screamer back in the day!! I am going to be following along to see the transformation. Plans for paint?? Copy of BJ and the Bear? Grew up fantasizing about driving a KW just like that. Had a picture of a Mayflower truck on my toolbox. 😁
