Just walked into my house and was greeted with this glorious smell of lavender. My bag is gorgeous. It is coming to bed with me tonight. Know I will have the most relaxing sleep. Thank you Vivi. Xxx
Oh the shrunken crisp packets ! The craze for badge 'miniatures' was when I was about 12-14 years old. I can remember making miniature bread badges ,I think out of flour and water dough maybe. Baking it and glazing it when cold with clear nail polish. I suspect it might have started( or at least been featured) on that kids show called 'why dont you ....?'. Id completely forgotten about that until you jogged my memory!
I also taught myself how to wire a plug at an early age, l also taught my kids, its br (brown)for bottom right , bl(blue) for bottom left and the left over one (green and white) is for the empty leg, 😊
I burst out laughing when you laughed talking about shrinking crisp packet brooches instead of x box today, I remember it so well 😅😂 Such a joy to listen to your vlogs, always feel like I'm sat in your lounge with you ❤
Hello, Vivi. We didn’t do the crisp package badges but we did cut out and color pieces of cake domes that were PETE to make suncatchers for the windows. You punched a hole in your design and popped it in the oven for a minute. Just regular coloring marker pens were used.

Potatoes are my favourite food, so yes, I could easily eat chips 3 times a week 😂😂 If only I had a chippy near me... I also remembering making crisp bag badges that we'd shrink in the oven. We would put the pin on after they'd shrunk. Brings back good memories lol.
Same here, my nearest chippy would mean my chips are frozen by the time I could get them home! When we had a local chippy, we’d have chips, mushy peas and gherkins a few times a month 😋
I'm in the US, 72 yrs old. In grade school we saved chewing gum wrappers and wove them into bracelets, necklaces, all kinds of things. I hadn't thought of that for a long time.
My present house is 300 yards round the corner from a small parade of shops. When I moved in 15 years ago there was a chemists, an 'Express' supermarket, a hairdressers, a fish and chip shop, and a hardware store. My brother said I had everything I needed there! Sadly the hardware shop is now a coffee shop, and the hairdressers is an estate agents branch, and I don't like fish and chips - well I don't mind the chips but the portions are too big for me and expensive - but I do love the smell. I sometimes make my own "oven" chips by cutting up potatoes or sweet potatoes and spraying them with oil, but only if the oven is on for other things and only once in a while. They are a far cry from the chips we used to have when I was small, when the fat was kept in the chip pan for weeks on end (not only yuk, but now known to increase the saturated fat content). I don't remember the shrinking crisp wrappers craze but if it was 80's then I was too busy being a new mum. I did laugh when you said dvdvdvd because we do that in our family - we also say crisps-pss-pss-pss. In actual fact we mess around with words quite a lot - swapping letters around etc. and playing with rhymes. "Rice is nice, and pasta is fasta, but breakfast is usually muesli".
Ach, it's such a shame when the useful shops disappear for coffee shops and estate agents......I love my local hardware/ironmongers...I'd have been lost without them over the years. Re the words.....as a kid I always said Bunner Reans for the long green beans. 😉
Our chippy also serves up ridiculously huge portions of chips, but I portion the excess into spare plastic takeaway boxes and freeze them. They don't take very long to heat through in the microwave or air fryer. I don't have a very large appetite, so can usually get two or three extra portions from the one lot, and they're still perfectly acceptable.
Fish and chips are my takeaway of choice but strictly a treat, perhaps once a month if that. I love gurnard so I always get that for my fish. The brooches made from chippy packets fad didn't make it to New Zealand, or at least I hadn't heard of it being done. I didn't gel with Girl, Woman, Other at all. I'm not sure what it was about it that didn't appeal now as it's been a couple of years since I read it. My current read is Wilding by Isabella Tree, which is a fantastic read, and next up will be Orbital by Samantha Harvey.

Oh I'd forgotten about making them into a dangly for one's pencil case....yes, we did that here too. 😊
Smiths crisps were so yummy. Do you remember salt and shake? And chipstix or were they not Smiths??

I just stopped back after being gone from the channel for a while. I gather that you have a buyer for the flat, but the sale takes a while to finalize?
Do you have another property picked out? Or do you have to wait until this one is final?
Its always a tricky transition, isn't it?
Good to see your cheery self again! i’ve subscribed.
She has found a place to move to. And she has a buyer for her place,I guess it takes a long time for paperwork and such things

Those are American names for those products, sorry. ( :
Best to record all your programmes and zip all the rubbish out. 😊
Vivi are you starting to feel a bit like the woman with child who has hundreds of folks asking her when is the big event going to take place? Do you have any clue when your move will transpire? I keep hoping when I check in, that I will hear some exciting updates! I know how excited I get when I am about to move.
If there was any news I'd let you all know. 😊
Oh those adverts! Drives me nuts! Why are they so loud?!! Plus they are never anything to do with the actual product they are advertising!!! Bonkers!!!
Ugh, yes, the loudness is so annoying!
