    This is not "a British Tornado that was also used by the Luftwaffe", but the Tornado was a joint development between Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (now Airbus), BAE Systems, and Aeritalia ;-)

    Beside the mistake with the "british Tornado" there is another mistake with the "Heinkel". It`s not a Heinkel, its a CASA 2.111, built in license by the Spanish. This CASA was equipped with 2 Merlin engines and not with the DB601 (He 111a) or the Jumo 211

      Not really in the inside hanger as the tornado was a 3 nation contribution by Britain, Italy and west Germany, the odd ones out are the fairy gannet the huey and the sabre, as the Mig 29 could have been made in East germany or the DRG...

      @@theophilhist6455 But if you look at it from the point of view of the families that suffered under the Nazis you might generate some understanding. Same for the conferderate battle flag. Why would you want to praise or remember a symbol of rebellion?

      @theophilhist6455 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@michaelgrey7854 Respectfully Mr. Grey, I do have deeper understanding than you might appreciate. I personally know and have met people who have suffered loss under the Nazi terror. What amazes me is theirs (and many others) ability to move on. I mean no disrespect to those who have suffered. We owe it to ourselves to learn and understand how victims can show us all how to forgive and continue to live. I suggest folks to read "The Happiest Man on Earth" by Eddie Jaku ...a survivor of the holocaust "camps".... or the book and movie "Unbroken". Thank you for your comment.

    It is illegal to use the swastika in ordinary circumstances but exceptions are made for museums and historical artifacts such as these in a museum setting. Many foreigners also fall foul of laws against Nazi era salutes or gestures or remarks about the 3rd Reich. The modern Germans take these laws very seriously also any race hatred speech etc.

      @HistoricalHunter45  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I just want to make you aware that i am not one of these so called "foreigners" who does such a thing! as a military historian i would be disrespecting my ancestors who fought in the war if i did so!. I was merely pointing out its nice to see historical accuracy.

      @@CHITOWNGANGSTA1981 Nothing to do with my parents when I state facts. A friend of mine faced jail for joking around in Germany with Nazi era gestures and symbols to the great anger and discomfort of people nearby. He got a big shock when confronted by local police and fined for his actions. Both my parents are now dead and in my country and culture it is a big insult to speak ill of the dead. Talk about the sins of the father being visited on their children, you have just reversed that fallacy in a vicious and vindictive manner.

    The Starfighter eventually flew with fifteen air forces, but its poor safety record, especially in Luftwaffe service, brought it substantial criticism. The Germans lost 292 of 916 aircraft and 116 pilots from 1961 to 1989, its high accident rate earning it the nickname Witwenmacher ("widowmaker") from the German public.
