Cutest little Black Flying-Fox pup: this is Cutie Patootie

- I rescued little Cutie Patootie about 7 years ago; it was very late in season (April) and I was convinced that the MOP was mistaken, however when I got into the park in the middle of town, sure enough the MOP had a crying 5 week old Black Flying-Fox pup in a beanie in her backpack. Here is a small compilation of clips from her time in my care.
It's so nice having a late baby coming into care; a single baby is a pleasure you can enjoy, nurture and love to bits, whereas babies coming in and out like a revolving door every day, and multiple babies to feed at midnight can become exhausting and less satisfying.
Because Patootie is a Black Flying-Fox and was a very late baby, she was transferred north to be raised them mini-creched up north. She was raised by the Demented Pixie (Jenny from Coffs), then released from the Bello creche.
Since this was 7 years ago, I expect she's had at least 4 babies now and is probably a grandmother a few times over.
I hope you're out there, planting trees, making babies and flying the night skies my little Cutie Patootie.
Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for me. Tolga is an awesome place in Far North Queensland, which has charity status. By sending donations to them, they get a percentage (and deserve every cent) and they can allocate money to me for batty expenses without it becoming part of my income stream (which makes tax time difficult).

The Giving Fund doesn’t charge any fees (so the bats get more money) but PP doesn’t itemise out the amount, they just send a total every month, and we don’t know if the money is for Tolga or for Megabattie.

She was one gorgeous little girl, and having just her to look after must have been a real pleasure. Her bigwings were very good. It must have been a major adjustment for her, going in with other babies and finding out she wasn’t the only one.🖤🇨🇦
How precious. Black flying foxes just look so rich and since they are smaller (at least they seem so) just even more adorable, if that is even possible.
They're not smaller, they're just less fluffy; they come in all sizes though as they grow

I put lots of information in the descriptions under the videos - so if you have questions, look for the answers there first. She was a darling, and so late in the season that she was a singleton and raised alone for a long time; a single baby is a pleasure because they're relaxing; they don't have interaction issues with any of the other batties, and the feeds are fast; you have a lot of time for a lone baby and they thrive with the love.
