Have to agree on the remote, I put off getting Lacroix's first board based on the 'off the shelf' remote. I emailed Alex(1 of Lacroix founder ) and the reason for that remote was the connectivity to the board was reliable and customers can easily replace it. The new Nazare comes with the flipsky remote, I find it similar to Boosted's remote (I think boosted has the best remote). In a forum Alex hinted at looking into another remote, it's sad they don't put any effort into their remotes as they do their boards. Another thing Lacroix does is low-ball their weight limit, range, speed and shipping.
Don't worry about that. The NLS pro uses a hobby wing ESC. Is it very very smooth, has amazing acceleration, speed, flex, range and comfort. You will be extremely happy trust me. Read samjadelaide.com review on it

I love gear drive. My friend’s building his own board with an etoxx gear drive. I would too but there isn’t one for the trucks I want, which is one issue I have with them. Also, changing gear ratios is pretty much impossible so you can’t really swap between urethanes and pneumatics. And they’re more expensive, which sucks. But they do seem really nice

The problem is that Europe has very few GOOD QUALITY roads. The US and Canada have loads and loads of new and good roads, but Europe doesn't have very good roads, and a bunch of them are cobblestone.

Yeah if they made their own remote we wouldn’t see this board out for another year. It takes a long time to design, engineer, manufacture and test a remote. Look at the new Enertion, that thing will be at least a year before it is out and that’s from a company that specializes in micro electronics. I’d rather have it with the X1 than no board at all.

I was on my kaly board and my friend passed me on the nazare and got speed wobbles and crashed. I was going 29mph so he was probably around 35.
I don't beyond 25 km hr. 20 is good...enough to stop suddenly.
Falling at 70. Km hr ...is a scary thought lol

the KALY XL50 also comes with 12S12P batteries with GEAR drive and AT/Street setup. I will be getting the KALY over lacroix.

Trucks on the Lacroix are going to be vastly superior as is the deck. It's really about how much you value that gear drive.

Is the NLSP in Pro mode? My brakes are nowhere near that weak, they work great.
