God Bless Keith. This is maybe third or fourth time through it and this time round it brought tears by the end. Not because it's sad, not at all, just that it's that good, that it's something you'd been waiting all this time to hear but had no idea. Such a beautiful simple melody played at a level so far more sophisticated and intricate than even advanced keyboardist could do. He has no weaknesses on the piano, his melodic sense, his voicings, his harmony, his rhythmic and timing feel, his romantic lyricism down to his sensual earthy percussive techniques. It's all there and all blended and shifted in and out and layered upon itself until the end where tears roll down your eyes because you feel blessed to have heard it. I think I just got took to church.
Reminds me of the times when I revered Jazz and the perfection so created here can only be from someone really inspired with what they are doing. God bless the trio. It's now 20 years since I last listened fully to it. I just realized that all my friends with whom we used to enjoy this with are all gone. It feels so lonely I could not help but shed a tear
Thank you for posting this music. Our sincere hope that Keith can at least know that his music has delighted so many. Saw him in Istanbul and New York. Thanks, Keith. Can someone post the Blue Note recording/ album. Truly a masterpiece.
