Hello! I am going to Arusha to volunteer at a local non-profit school for underprivileged children. I know you mentioned at the end of your video where you hired the tourguides, but could you share an exact link? Or if they have social media? I'd love to hire them as a tour guide for my trip! Thanks!
Hello! Thank you for your interest! 😊 The guides from my tour are affiliated with a local foundation, and here is their Instagram page: instagram.com/gracious_daycare_preschool_tz/?igsh=ZjU1bnd2Ym9jaHpj Here is the link to book the tour through Viator: www.viator.com/tours/Arusha/Community-and-Street-Food-Walking-Tour/d5593-367996P1?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAab_biMk0fhx10gzJEP0eUUTN_5HTxx7re_B0dFste3IlFawtJw31ak5k7o_aem_yuN_daG4rV-bTJlGaxiIbw Additionally, since you're already volunteering, you might be interested in their volunteering opportunities, which are linked in their Instagram bio. Hi Olive, my friend 🫒 ...it seems that I'm just following you now on your world tour to so many cultures, countries and continents... 🐘🦒🐒 ...it all started with your camino, and my memories of my own ones! 🚶🚶♀🚶♂😎 I loved this video a lot, giving insight to the lives of the people of Arusha, beyond the tourist business and attractions. On one side it feels a bit sad, to see how close many families are to survival, and on the other side, there is an exciting creativity of shaping their own little businesses to maintain their daily life. Its been a relief to hear, that they were able to tackle street crime and drugs now to a more satisfying degree. This reminded me of what I was (and am still) wishing for, when you continue your walks on the Via Transilvanica, telling the stories of the people who live at the Via, how they live, and what their hopes and concerns are, if the Via becomes more well known and lively. I'm sure its essential to book tour guides to do those explorations into the neighbourhoods of the local people, and they also earn some money with it - its a win-win! I'm glad to hear that there will be a few more videos from Tanzania - I am in the mood for it! 😄 I can so imagine, how you feel and look differently at your own European cultural background, once you return home. I always felt rather like a global citizen... my national identity has never been satisfying to me... when I meet/see people from other parts of the world, I connect with their joys, fears, passions, wisdom, and overall human-ness... that is what counts. Will I still see the day, when the majority of people (and their elected governments) will share and live that vision? 🌍👯🤼🧑🤝🧑☯💖🌟
Hello Jorn, it's always lovely to read your thoughtful reflections! 🌞 It truly feels so eye-opening to explore these different cultures, and it really puts so much into perspective. Growing up in Romania, my view of the world was pretty narrow... then I started visiting other European countries, and that alone began to change my views and values. But exploring places so far from home, where life is so different, feels like adding new pieces to a puzzle, especially when you have this curiosity to understand and explore the world. 🧩🌎 It was indeed a bit sad for me to see this environment, but the people themselves didn’t seem sad... definitely not more than many I met in London, stuck in the endless loop of 50-hour work weeks. I suppose happiness really depends on perspective. I asked my guide how hard it is for people here to lift themselves out of poverty, especially in small villages, and if there’s a chance to completely change their lives. His answer was yes, explaining how access to education and opportunities is available nowadays, which felt comforting to hear. 🎓 I know what you mean about Via Transilvanica. 🥾 I will definitely try to explore more of the authentic local life wherever I go and have the time and resources. I would love that one day I could actually give more to communities and actively make a difference, through TH-cam. And I totally resonate with what you said about being a global citizen. I actually contemplated whether I should start my channel in Romanian at first, thinking it might be easier to reach people from my own country. It would have been more comfortable in some ways, especially when talking about certain topics, but somehow, my identity doesn’t feel tied there. I resonate better with people from all over the world. 🌏

These people are cooking in the same way we in India cook. However, they make fun of India and it's cooking videos.
