  • This video by Aspire 32 on the Dentin bonding agent is a part of an ongoing series on Bonding systems in Dentistry. In this 2nd Part of the video by Dr. Suresh Shenvi, I have discussed the role of Primer, Wet Bonding, Dry Bonding, the generations, but all of this in a super simple slow explanation so that students can understand it better. Dentin bonding agents is an important topic from Dental Materials and Operative Dentistry. Easy dentistry at Aspire32 helps grasp such topics of Dentistry in the simplest possible way for dental students and dentists. This video explains dentin bonding agents classification and dentin bonding agents generations too.
    This video of Aspire 32 is made by Dr. Suresh Shenvi who has cleared various exams like ADAT, NBDE from the USA, DHA from Dubai, and various Indian Entrance exams like PGI, KCET, NEET. I am MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics by profession. I am also an author of dental books on the entrance exam and I am also currently a faculty at KLE University and a receiver of the best teacher awards.

    Dear Viewers. Please note the dry bonding and wet bonding technique comparison is done with respect to 4th Gen Bonding agents. To know more about the recent generations of Bonding agents, Please do watch the 1st video on Dentin Bonding agent at this link- th-cam.com/video/j9RHlD08EyI/w-d-xo.html

    I m using 5th generation bonding adhesive(Bond) using selective etch instead of Total Etch and then applying bonding adhesive on moist enamel n dentin, air dry for 20 sec, cure for 20 sec, apply composite in increments and curing each increment for 20 secs...
    Believe me all my composite restorations are successful since 8 years...
    I never ever etch dentin I. My every case of compo restoration

      Dr Manjeet sing. Thank you for sharing your experience. And I have also mentioned the same in my first video of Dentin Bonding agent which was released few years back. Currently literature support the selective etch technique. Since this video was about old generations , I have not spoken the other aspects which are already covered in my first video. :)

    Sir does hydrophillic part of primer binds to gic in sandwhich technique? Cox in sandwhich technique we apply gic over dentine before putting composite.. how does primer works in sandwhich technique?

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  ปีที่แล้ว

      Composite bonds to gic micromechanically. It causes micro porosities and bonding agent penetrates it

    Sir i have a doubt,why is primer application not much important for enamel?

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  ปีที่แล้ว

      Because enamel has very little content and less hydrophobic and has more microprorosities

  • @jlalpekhlua9754
    @jlalpekhlua9754 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sir what is the difference between primer and dental adhesive?

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Primer has both hydrophobic and hydrophilic end. On side it penetrates the dentin and enamel which is hydrophilc and the other side it bonds to composite which is hydrophobic. But composite is thick, so u need less viscous resin to penetrate the primed dentin and enamel. Thats done with adhesive which is basically less viscous resin. And over this the composite bonds

    Sir, which monomer makes hydrophilic dentin hydrophobic?

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HEMa

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It.does.not make hydrophobic.. the hydrophilic end bonds to towards the dentin side and hydrophobic end is now open on the other side to bond with adhesive
