It would be hilarious if this technology reached a point where it was better than groomed snow, and they end up having to clear the slopes of snow in winter for people to buy tickets.....it would be like a twilight zone episode
Nothing will be better than groomed snow. Second alot of people like skiing because of the freedom on a mountain, the surroundings and atmosphere you don't get with synthetic shit. And thirdly, it would be way smarter to put this on a mountain where it doesn't snow so it eliminates that issue, if it were to be better than groomed snow, which it will never be.
Powder is softly packed snow after a solid snowfall. Nothing like skiing waist deep powder and getting covered in snow every turn you make. You should come visit Colorado or Utah for skiing. You'd probably enjoy it!
RideFreestyleOhio its one of those things you would definitely not want to use a good snowboard on. use something you would use out in urban snowboarding.
We have this in Wales. However, it has been disused for sometime. Everything was rusted. It's in the middle of nowhere and I stumbled onto it while hiking in the mountain. We thought we have discovered a secret base. However, the slope is so step I wonder how they ever stop at the bottom.
I learned freestyle snowboarding on a slope like this, looks a bit silly but it really does work well, it's actually harder than doing it in the snow so it's a great way to learn quickly, your technique needs to be much better than it needs to be in real snow. (You also learn quick because falling hurt like hell ;p)
Kalebbistis wow that makes no sense man that's just sad I mean sucking as nothing to do with heating up your board or the firmness of the ground you sir have failed horribly and have been chosen to die to thin out the herd... Good luck in the after life kiddo I'm sure you'll do great... 😒
Em Garibaldi, tivemos por 30 anos uma estação de esqui artificial (1970 /2000)! Com um porém, todas as peças , esquis, botas e teleférico, foram produzidos no Brasil , pelo idealizador David Afonso Santini! In Garibaldi, we had for 30 years an artificial ski station (1970/2000)! With one however, all the pieces, skis, boots and cable car, were produced in Brazil, by the idealizer David Afonso Santini!
I’d rather have real snow just because the coldness and environment is one of my favorite parts of skiing and this doesn’t have the same feeling at all. But, for year around this would be okay I guess.
Nick N if it's white it will look dirty. Obviously the green shit will get dirty but it wont be as much of an eye sore. The same way your shit smears show on white underwear but not on darker colored underwear.
Nick N lmao, so you would just want a white plastic hill that looks like it’s covered in shit in your hometown? That’s what he’s talking about. No shit it will get dirty, just like the green material will get dirty. But dirt and stains show up a lot easier on white than other colors.
if you face-plant @ 50+ mph, does it offer the same cushioning as snow? or the numbing of its cold , for real if i fail at high speed what kind of cushioning can i expect?
Lol, we've had this in England for decades. It's a real shame they've closed most of them though and replaced them with stupidly expensive indoor snow slopes.
I live right down the road from buck hill and i snowboards there all the time...in the winter. Cause fuck that shit. Also it hurts like hell if you fall
They couldn't have made it white?
Haha, good point
Good point
haha nice point
IBegToDiffer200 White will get much dirtier, a lot quicker.
Seems liek to piece and unpiece would be a lot trickier, not to mention cleaning
This demonstrates how important setting is to the experience
EXACTLY!
So true
You only lose 22.3% of your skin every time you wipe out. So it's really not that bad.
Anthony Fellows hahaha! Not bad
Anthony Fellows just wear skate pads though and you’ll be fine.....
Hahahahahaha, they should put them to jail for that invention hahahaha
I laughed
It’ll teach you not to fall on this or real snow.

Cameron K Hey with technology, ya never know. Maybe magnetic boards you float on?
If there is no snow then it is not real skiing. The whole experience and texture of snow underneath you is what gives the sport its magic.
Mr Banana808 owchie :,(
Its great for when it doesn't snow
Looks like Lego grass
Top Rap Tracks Yep, totally agreed.
Nothing like skiing deep pow though
EagleLogic so true
What's that I've never seen deep powder on my hill I live in Michigan it's always ice
Powder is softly packed snow after a solid snowfall. Nothing like skiing waist deep powder and getting covered in snow every turn you make. You should come visit Colorado or Utah for skiing. You'd probably enjoy it!
EagleLogic I'm going next winter this should be fun
EagleLogic yesss bro,,, only bad part is falling in powder cuz you can’t get out lol
"The year is 2085 and snow no longer exists on earth, but ski resorts still exist"
Why not make it white?
Maniak it would be blinding
Nah white would be fine, black would be the worst color for it.
It will get dirty lmao
It would get so dirty
The blood (this stuff rips you up)
This has existed for quite some time. I remember when i was about 4 years old and practiced on such slopes in Hungary. Quite smart.
How to ruin your skis in 5 min
Melvin Sandberg I use my old snowboard
I love how he’s go proing but can barely turn. Great video.
But how often will I need to wax my snowboard?
RideFreestyleOhio its one of those things you would definitely not want to use a good snowboard on. use something you would use out in urban snowboarding.
RideFreestyleOhio o
Oi this shit cut trough the wax and scratched my board
About twenty-six times per run.
RideFreestyleOhio yea i dont think either of us want to know.... (snowboarder talking here)
Imagine falling on this, talk about rug burn!
How uncool...haha, get it! :)
R I am going to pretend u never said that
Ha ha ha 😐
^ nice!
R you ok? haha, get it! :(
Since you used an exclamation mark and no question mark, I interpret your comment as being written in imperative.
There will never be a true replacement to fresh cold powder.
That... was depressing.
IrascibleForester 267 they’re probably dead it’s too late
If this is depressing. You have some major issues.
Were you not allowed to have fun growing up?
What's the deal?
@@JB-1138 if I had to use this I'd get sad and nostalgic thinking how nice it is to ski in snow on long runs lol
She says "It feels like hard packed snow when you fall," But judging by the way she rides, it looks like she has never been on any snow! LOL
he did it like 1000 times but rides ski like a noob...
Porsche Guy he really rides the ski
Switch to a snowboard. Skiing old asf
TJ Prescott Never
Vlisto always
i agree

They have this already on mount hood in Oregon for skiing in the summer. I must say pretty cool though
This already existed like maybe 30 - 40 yeats ago in Europe
Boris Kok that's alot of yeats ago
There’s a lot in the uk
Eddie the eagle used it in the 70’s lmao
Yah yeet yah
They said around 50 years in the video
This is PERFECT for places that don't have snow!!!
No shit genius.

Ski tuners: Stonks
That is a cool product. could do with a little less retro news people in the vid.
Harrison Howard does retro mean old? Lol
That music though 😂😂
I couldn’t do it, there’s no snow to throw or terrain to go through!
That kid named Charlie yeah it would be like going down a bunny hill
Hope this isn’t what the future of snow is cough cough climate change
Sean Allers cough couch not here in British Columbia on the mountains we have over 20 feet of the white stuff
No this is just for when we colonize mars
Cough chough a hoax
AA JK Climate change and global warming are different
The climate is getting cooler now
Was there before! Didn't like it, hard and heats up your board.
Kalebbistis no it’s not. Neveplast is shit
Kalebbistis wow that makes no sense man that's just sad I mean sucking as nothing to do with heating up your board or the firmness of the ground you sir have failed horribly and have been chosen to die to thin out the herd... Good luck in the after life kiddo I'm sure you'll do great... 😒
Kalebbistis iTz bECaUse u S U C C

"Where's John?"
"He's on top of Buck Hill"
When you fall I bet that would feel awesome. Also that must be a great way to scratch up your skis.
Learnt to ski on this stuff it makes skiing on the real stuff easy as chips
Couldnt they make it white? Haha
legrate why does it matter though. White's gonna get all dirty and shit
Nick N if it's white it will look dirty. Obviously the green shit will get dirty but it wont be as much of an eye sore. The same way your shit smears show on white underwear but not on darker colored underwear.

that wasnt your point you just dont know what to say, nobody would like spending money on this new product if it looked like shit. grow up
legrate can’t believe some Americans.
That looks cool, I wish there was one near me.
if you face-plant @ 50+ mph, does it offer the same cushioning as snow? or the numbing of its cold , for real if i fail at high speed what kind of cushioning can i expect?
Thanks to Dry Ski Slopes, Olynpic Winter Games can be held anywhere in the future.
That looks so fun and I hardly go skiing or snowboarding
I need that here in desert! xD
Lol, we've had this in England for decades. It's a real shame they've closed most of them though and replaced them with stupidly expensive indoor snow slopes.
We need this on the east coast!
Near where I live in Britain there is a whole facility with real snow and it’s quite cold
Really every one loves skiing in RVA bring this to rva!!
They have that stuff at a real snowboard lift and when there is no snow on it u get stuck
this is my favorite song :))))
I can't wait for the 2060 Winter Olympics where this stuff will actually be used because all of the snow is gone! Woooow!
That’ll be one crazy rug burn
We need this in CT!!!
The difference is that it hurts more when you fall
I thought this was a lego baseplate at first lol
They should have this in the summer Olympics
BRING THIS TO TEXAS
This is awesome
Holy hell imagine falling in that it’s like running and sliding on a rug
What does that do to the bottom of your skis or snowboarding
Look at his socks 😂
Dreams do come true
Kinda looks like he might blow out he's knees at any second. Definitely does not look like he's "gliding" across it
1:10 Maybe it's his pants flapping
falling looks like it would be soooo painful
The best thing for the midwest
Fall n lose a eye
drive past here all the time. never see anyone using it.
In case you want to know buckhill is really fun in the winter not the summer
So i guess snowboarding and skiing is a summer sport now
What's the name of the song with the electric guitar? I've heard it before somewhere in like a flash game when I was younger
Nirvana darrude sandstorm
U mean the yogscast intro
Frank Bin no
my bad thought you meant the part at 0:20
neverplast is so awful to board on and its nothing like groomed snow haha, the best dry slopes are made from snowflex
God its got to be a nightmare running that tow rope.
We have had them in most counties in England for pretty much the last 30 years. Is this new to america?
Or just go to liberty snowflex
Wasn't the background song from Fine Bros?
What’s the longevity of this material?
We need this
Bring this to Richmond va!!!
Bizarre.
Those gaps between them are disconcerting, that would be a dangerous crash -getting a ski stuck under a loose mat.
I thought it was a green screen at first, that would be cool
Does it not wreak havoc on your equipment?
All I could think was carpet burn..
How does this compare to Snowflex facilities?
I thought these were a bunch of legos at first lol
Hi there, Is it possible to have permission to use some of this footage for a fundraising campaign? I want to demo what dry slope is like.
Wiping out on this must really hurt..
Would this ruin your skis or board?
These guys can totally shred gnar
Wow, great idea! this project could work in the hot continent countries!! Good job for bringing this out👍
How much per meter?
What is it called
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they should have made the panels white to help the brain adjust and make it more realistic
Man, that reporter looked so hot on that snowboard 😀.
Could you make snow over this in the winter?
Why not just skate?
Lol and my local ski resort closes with a 340 foot snow base
They should at least paint it white.. help with the illusion a little bit
Where I’m from, this stuff is all over the place. It normal. I’ve grown up using it. So I was confused as to y this was on the news. 😂😂
would be pain to fall on a kicker there, more painful that faling on asphalt when sateboarding.
The guy is slaloming across the whole run
I live right down the road from buck hill and i snowboards there all the time...in the winter. Cause fuck that shit. Also it hurts like hell if you fall
Are they still in business?
Why are people skiing on legos ???
