I'm looking at my bottle of Heaven Hill BIB as I watch you. I like this bourbon. Merry Christmas! Congrats on retirement! I retired a couple of years ago and have said I should have done it much sooner. I had "worried" about retiring and so put it off for years! I logged 40+ years at my work and feel I should have done so at 25 or 30 years with my company. You'll enjoy retirement.
Congratulations on your retirement Peter. I did 30 years in police service retiring in 2007, I find that I'm just as busy now as when I was working. The difference is that I get to choose what I occupy my time with.
Congrats Peter! 28 years is a good run! Haven’t had the HH BIB but have not been impressed with the 2 McKenna BIB I’ve had. Not sure I will take another try with a different single barrel. Too much out there to try!
Had 2 bottles henry mckenna's, first one was great with a berry. The second one was nothing but cut grass taste, awful. The heaven hill bottles I've had were way better to me. Great review thanks. Congrats on retirement, I retired at 53, couldn't be happier.
Just picked up the HH bib and haven't opened it yet, love the bottle of McKenna that I have 👍😉 , I worked for 40 years and hated every day of it 🤔 . Retirement is...😬
Congrats on retirement Peter!!!! I think Henry McKenna BiB got a lot of hype a few years ago because it was $35 ish. Then they doubled their price and it doesn't live up to it.
Congratulations on your retirement Peter. Now you can dedicate more time to your viewers 🥃..!!! I agree with your assessment of these bourbons. I remember the hype Henry McKenna created after it won “Best in Show Whiskey” at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Thank you. I appreciate it. It was certainly time for me to move on. Maybe I'll start up the BBQ channel now that I'll have some extra time on my hands.
I found the McKenna to be forgettable. On the other hand, the Heaven Hill 7yr is one of my all-time favorite bourbons. To me its exactly what a bourbon should taste like, especially at $50
Happy Retirement! You haven't given yourself a great send-off so far this December. Getting a special bottle for the retirement? The blends still make me anxious.
Reread my post. 2 clarifications. 1. Referring to my sendoff comment. My intent was to anecdotally suggest you have had a few reviews that were not up to par with your life event. 2. Retirement bottle. I kind of meant a special one just for you. No review. No Bottle Battle. No camera. Just you, the whisky, and enjoyment.
Henry McKenna bottles I’ve had are all over the place. From amazing to almost drain pour. The price isn’t worth taking the chance anymore. HH bib is middle of the road flavor wise so for $40-$50 I steer towards bards town origin
Both of these bottles are hit or miss for me. My first McKenna 10 was very menthol. My current one is more sweet. The oak on my last HH7 was very dominant. Both are more summer pours for me and I enjoy them with bbq. You should give them a try. Congrats retirement. My mom retired several years back from the Milwaukee school district.
28+ years. It was time for me to go. The generational gap between a 54-year-old and a 13-year-old was on full display this year. I couldn't relate to them anymore. I had to move on. Cheers!
Your student from last year, Aubrie said hi in my tt comments and she wanted me to tell you that she said hi so I’m saying hi for her 😗 (by the way I miss you so much Mr. Fasciano)
Congratulations on retirement Peter... 28yr long stint and I bet its well earned teaching kids can't be easy No wonder you have a Whisky Channel 😂.. More time for Whisky and BBQ now, any chance of a "BBQ is a Journey" now... 🤔🤔.. Cheers mate have a dram for me 🥃🥃🥃🥃
Congrats on your retirement! Thanks for all your years of teaching!
Thank you. It was a hell of a run. Cheers!

I'm extremely happy with my decision. It was definitely time for me to move on.

It's crazy how busy i am already and it's only been 6 hours into my retirement. 😜
Congrats Peter! 28 years is a good run!

For curiosity purpose only I feel I need to get another bottle to compare it.
Thanks
You have 4 total for December. Good luck!
Love your videos, keep it up!
Thank you!

Thanks! I still think I need to get another bottle of the HM to A/B compare. Cheers to retirement!
Nice! I really enjoy the Heaven Hill 7yr. Bonus, it’s 32.00 bucks at Sam’s Club! Definitely just a middle of the road pour. Cheers
It's nice when you get a bottle you like at a good price. Cheers!
Thanks!
1 more in for December.

That's not a good thing to have worked 40 years and hated every day. What did you do that you did not enjoy it?
Congrats on retirement Peter!!!! I think Henry McKenna BiB got a lot of hype a few years ago because it was $35 ish. Then they doubled their price and it doesn't live up to it.
I am starting to realize a lot of bottles don't live up the the hype. Cheers!

Agreed, I've had both bottles and put the Heaven Hill on a rebuy and pass on another bottle of McKenna which is overpriced.
Like I said in the video I need to get another bottle to compare it to. I want to like both of these...i just don't. 😔
Happy Retirement!

Getting a special bottle for the retirement?
The blends still make me anxious.
Today was supposed to be a "special flight" my retirement flight, but I didn't have time to produce it. Thank you Tony!

Happy holidays! Cheers!
Haven't had either, most things I've heard is that people think they're both overpriced. I'll check back later to view more comments.
I feel like people either like one or the other. Cheers!

Bardstown is going great things.

Congrats Peter, but what's gonna happen when the kids come back after the break?
They hired a younger, better looking, more motivated version of myself to carry on the torch.
Congrats Peter
Thank you! Cheers!

I appreciate it. Tell her I said hello. Like I said before...I'll be around the campus. I still have friends there plus both of my sisters are there.
Miss you already mr fasciano
I'll be back around in March. Thanks!
Congrats on the retirement!
Thanks!
Happy Retirement my friend!!! hope to retire in 30 years..... maybe!!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thank you John. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and a happy new year. Cheers to retirement.

I am kicking around the idea of using my other channel as my BBQ channel now. Still not sure, but it is an option.
Thanks!
I have you down for another one in December.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the support. I have you down for 4 in December. Best of luck. Cheers!
