Nice run man. I think optimization can happen w/ this run. Instead of landing on the last note with a perfect, you can land on it with an "Early!" or an "EPerfect." The drawbacks are you could get an "Early!!" and miss it or you could risk overflowing if you pressed two notes earlier within 1 second. Other than that, I'm looking forwards to seeing how fast this game can be done. (also 10-x is the best main level in the game. change my mind)
Reminds me of the handful of GH3 speedruns Randy did with this speedup mindset when Clone Hero was first picking up steam, this can definitely work as a run

A bit nitpicky (especially considering this was so long ago), but using the mouse to speed up each trial is slower than using the keyboard, as each key can be used similar to the actual game, you could slide your hands across a line of 20 keys or so rather than pressing LMB 20 times.
Pulse is one of the worst mapped songs of all time, the inputs in the intro make barely any sense and are repeated at the end with zero fitting instruments or drums, absolutely trash map. got all time records with at least 1.5x but can't get Pulse done because the map is so shit

I think small optimizations like that would get eaten up by the time spent menuing, right? the real timesave is from increasing the speedmod

No because of the rhythm compensation in the game. It moves your dot forward or backwards depending on how early or late you hit a note
