Remember, this was written in Korean, and there may be slang that only Koreans would understand, so the subtitles may not translate full well in english unless you give context. According to doolset lyric translations, this is the context she gave: “We taste sharp like cola” - Wordplay: (1) When something is refreshing or extremely delightful in a slowly-progressing situation, Koreans say “it feels like a sprite,” which is in line with “we taste sharp like cola). Because 쏘다 can be (2) to sting, (3) to criticize, and (4) to shoot, the line can also be “we diss sharply like cola.”
It's not a cringe line because you're missing a lot of cultural references. Watch an explanation video.
No one ever takes my suggestion! 😭😆 I will never stop being blown away by RM's 'Joke'. Do yourself a favor and just look up the lyrics ahead of the video so you can just watch it without reading because the subtitles aren't the best.

A lot of people have covered the “not exact translations” issue. They do the choreography and what you consider “Tic Tok moves” are because of BTS. This isn’t a new song, they drop creative choro and it gets copied on line, has been happening since they started out. They are the innovators, others copy. Many to show their respect, some in the earlier days before they were as well known tried to claim their moves as original.

That is not a correct translation. Closer would be "we taste sharp like soda". Has 2 meanings. 1. Something so smooth or really amazing they would say "it feels like sprite."
2. Sharp, we are bitter when we go down. We burn(fizz) as we go down. So don't mess with us.

Oh some of them dance practice in Tims too, partially because they can hit the dancing on stage harder practicing with heavy boots on. The dance practice for this is epic, its for a live awards show so its a little different version of the song and a full stage choreo but REALLY shows off their dancing skills!
Steve Aoki has worked with them a few times and this is his biggest commercial success song. He embarrassed Suga when he visited Steve's house in Vegas and had a whole wall of BTS pictures/figurines etc like any fanboy would. He's a real one the fandom calls him Uncle Steve.
As far as what to react to, for funny videos any video by the SugArmy channel is going to be well edited. Decide how you want to do your journey, its YOURS we can make suggestions and help. If you want to do all 7 vids or take them each as soloists.
You have some of the best reaction vibes ever. I've never felt offended by any of the things you've pointed out because I feel like you actually appreciate them and seem very genuine. These are some personal faves but you can't go wrong with whatever songs/videos you choose to watch. As a whole group performing. I'd suggest Idol, On or DNA (all are classics). 💜💜

I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet To Come Busan concert last October 2022 where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time....but so worth it. Enjoyed your reaction. First time to your channel, loved you excitement! You can never go wrong with BTS. There are color coded videos of the song, that show the singer, but not sure the translations are always accurate.
Suggestions: Suga/August D Trilogy mv, if would like just one start off with Deachwita, J Hope More and Arson mv's, RM Wildflower and Still Life mv 's and Joke mv ( i do not know if there is any eng subs but would see his flow ). V's recent song Friends is also very good, one of my favorites of his solo work.
Others have also mentioned the vocal line and I would agree, these are my favorites for rappers.
I am a 60 year old Army and never really got into rap, mainly for the cussing and subject material. So I usually lead with the rappers since for me it is different from anything I used to like but because of BTS I really enjoy.
In case you haven't heard Suga/August D (held a concert Spring/Summer 2023) it will showing in theaters in April 10th and 13th, I believe they have added more dates. I'm going, saw his concert in Chicago ( live in Texas, never done before) it was Amazing. You should react to his Trilogy MV at least first. I would highly recommend going, Great experience. I don't want to give spoilers.

I would love to see you react to Jimin’s, “Set Me Free Pt. 2” the choreography is stupid! And I mean stupid in the best way possible.
There's so many content... I'm almost 1 year in and I've only see/hear a part of it. You can find a lot of content on the Bangtantv channel. Also their solo work. There are also explanation video's from the M/V's because most of their songs have a deeper meaning. You can find it all on TH-cam. They have like 500 songs, solo careers beside BTS, variety shows, live performances, interviews, live broadcasts, documentaries, fan made content,.. The Guide to BTS by Taylor Mary is a good one to start with. It shows a general overview of BTS and is accurate until may 2022 untill they took a break in June 2022 and some did solo work and others start to enlist in the military (mandatory for 1,5 year). They're all in now and will be back mid 2025. They're still dropping some concent. Hardships 2013-2021 is a good one too. It's accurate until 2021 but they're still going through some of these things. The series 'Rise of the Bangtan' is a fan made series with 21 episodes and shows them before they debuted until now. I would start with these.

If you want to watch their funny videos I recommend watching youtube compilations first (like try not to laugh or best of run bts...). They have a variety show called Run Bts! but I don't recommend watching that from the first episode (at least for now) as there are way too many episodes. If you want to watch an episode of run bts, watch the flying yoga episode, it's one of the most recent ones and you don't need any context to understant it. I also recommend watching carpool karaoke (with james cordon), BTS answers web's most searched questions and how well does BTS know each other interviews.

V he is not a rapper he is a vocalist, JIN is a vocalist, Jimin is a vocalist, Jungkook is a vocalist,! RM, and Suga are the main and lead rappers of BTS both of them come from the Korean underground hip-hop scene before they joined BTS it did say that in the guide! J-Hope had to learn how to rap and developed his own flow and cadence from getting instructions and help from RM and Suga. J-Hope was also a Street dance performer and won many competitions with his crew called neuron. So he is like a rapper and main dancer and dance Choreo helper when it comes to BTS dance routines in music videos!?
One thing you must separate is your knowledge of boy bands in the United States or in Europe particularly the UK “One Direction“ and *NSYNC is not anything like BTS!
if you were to do a comparison on the music and lyrical structure of the songs and the dance routines *NSYNC and other American boy bands could never keep up not with the hard strategic dance routines that K-pop groups in general do!
There are other Korean popular groups both male and female that you may want to look into for example,“ Stray Kids” ,” ATEEZ” Who arevfourth generation K-pop .
BTS is third generation there are different generations in the K-pop industry. you will notice differently if you tap into more generations of K-pop.
For example first generation K-pop started in the 1990s, second generation of K-pop started from 2000 to 2009, third generation is 2011 to 2016, fourth generation 2016 to 2022 , fifth generation is 2023 to so on.
List of some k-pop groups from certain generations:
First generation, “Seo Taiji and boys” they were the ones that are the godfathers of K-pop they started it all and became the most popular in the very beginning of the K-pop industry!
Second generation of KPOP, “TVXQ” there are only two members right now that are doing group music as well as solos but you can see the vast differences from different generations and they were the most popular at that time. YG entertainment , produce BigBang Who at their time were the most successful and they started a lot of beginning into concerts outside of South Korea. They did make YG lotta money when they were together as a five member group. They have no disband but their music is still on TH-cam!
Third generation K-pop, “ BTS“ is from BIGHIT under HYBE , “EXO“ they are from SM entertainment they are the original K-pop industry starting with the CEO and founder Lee Soo Man he pretty much help put K-pop on the map.
Fourth generation K-pop, “STRAY. Kids”, they are excellent K-pop group from JYP entertainment they produce and compose 99% of their music like BTS. TXT they are the little brothers of BTS they come from the same company and they are an exceptional group and they are getting more well-known in the United States.
I’m not exactly sure if BLACKPINK is considered fourth or third generation since they started in 2016 but they were kind of in the middle but they are an exceptional girl K-pop group and consisting of two rappers and two vocalist they are phenomenal when it comes to concert Tours and venues like Coachella! You might want to check them out.
Fifth generation are not really my forte I don’t have too many fifth generation I believe there is a group called TWS which is they are under HYBE labels. A Japanese subsidiary, Who are just starting out.
Well my comment is long enough and I’m sorry for the long essay here but I’m trying to help you out a little bit when it comes to defining the different generational groups and how K-pop and American or western pop are a lot different and how the comparisons are not that similar. Apart from everything everyone else has said, you have to remember that a lot of their mainstream songs like this have pretty regular catchy lyrics. You gotta listen to the raplines solo stuff and the raplines songs (suga, rm, jhope as a trio) like UGH, DDAENG, Cypher pt 4, Cypher pt 3 etc. Also, the main BTS singles before Mic Drop are very different; Blood Sweat & Tears, I Need U, War of Hormone etc. Mic Drop began a new era and imo doesn't represent what they were before that, as much as I love what followed. But what followed was a lot of more western style songs like Dynamite and Butter. Basically what I mean is you gotta listen to rap line's songs (UGH, DDAENG, Cyphers), solo rap stuff (AGUST D, Jhope, RM) and older BTS group songs.

K-pop has always be westernized because it's litteraly import from America. So Mic drop is not the start of "westernized BTS" and they continue to release music with meaning. Why do you know only dynamite and butter ? Do you forget Black Swan, On, Run BTS, For Youth, Yet to come, Life Goes on, Mikrokosmos, Dionysus etc ? Bts just expand their genres. Have a nice day 💜
