The Mazda 3 HB Turbo does sit beneath the Germans...Go price an A3 with the options you get in the 3. Its $12K more. The Mazda 3 has just as good performance, tech and I believe that it looks better. Oh yeah, you also won't have to spend $450 on every service. And, of course, Mazda leads all brands in reliability. Zee Germans are all down the list a bit. So I think it is a much better value than an entry Audi, BMW or MB.
I have a 2012 Mazda3 hatchback. I can still get 40 mpg on the highway. I will miss that fuel economy when I trade it in for a newer model but I think I will have a damn good time driving one of these.
Don’t understand why you keep on saying that the Volkswagen GTI has a more “aggressive acceleration, orbit feels faster”. I just watched several videos in which the Mazda 3 hatchback turbo beats the GTI by 0.4 seconds. So the Mazda may feel more refined, smoother, but is still faster than the GTI...
Really enjoyed the review. You present intelligently, without the quirkiness and humor that drives far too many other channels..... to the point of being annoying. You mentioned another review of the same vehicle, and I’m going to look for that one to see if you go into more detail on features which make the 3 competitive with those marks frequently mentioned. I noticed that was missing. New subscriber here. Keep it up.
When looking at the screen and Apple CarPlay it looks like you can’t see the bottom left corner. Is this due to the dash or just the positioning of your camera?
Gotta say, thought it’d be another “grrrr it’s not another MazdaSpeed-3, Me Angry !!” video, but it was more also. Someone (sorta, kinda!) finally understood what Mazda’s been Screaming From The Mountain-Tops, and that’s that they didn’t set out to make another MazdaSpeed-3, they set out to make The Next Gen Turbo -3 !! All and all, enjoyed it enough to hit that SUBSCRIBE button ! …Now for other ‘Reviewers’ out there, -Yes the Mazda 3 Turbo has 3 Programmable HomeLink buttons, hidden at the bottom of the frameless mirror. -Yes it has rear heat ducts (sorta) underneath both front seats. And YES - this is the ONLY reviewer that I’ve seen so far, Mention that the Cameras also include TRAJECTORY!!!! Thanks, and much love, from Toronto, ONTARIO, Canada 🇨🇦 !!
It is the best I just bought one. I was trying to hold out for the new Z. But one test drive and look in interior I was sold. It’s like driving a go cart with all types of goodies. Mazda knock it out the park. This is my first Mazda in my life I am 46.
Can the 8x binging on startup be cancelled? It is beyond annoying. Beautiful car but as one who already has a vehicle with black wheels and piano black accents on the exterior, it is a nightmare to keep clean and scratch free. As mazda kept the bright chrome around the windows, maybe something other than black accents should have been used? ,
The ringing on startup may depend on whether or not the driver's seat belt is fastened. In my car (Jaguar ), it rings only once when my seat belt is fastened; otherwise, it rings five times.
How many people would actually buy the speed 3? Even in its heyday I never saw a lot of those on the road. Looking back at old pics that car was ugly too. I wish people would quit crying about it.
The big thing in the past 10 years - especially considering that generation to current generation is NVH and material refinement. I owned a 10 3 and now a 20 3. Different galaxies apart... even though they both were/are excellent vehicles in their own way.
Exactly. Mazda stopped making those because they don’t sell well. In fact 98% or cars sold in US are automatic now . Americans don’t want manual shift cars.
If they redesigned it along with the newest technology it would sell like crazy. If anyone would buy a gti after looking at it than they can sell the speed 3 again.
I bought the non turbo in the sedan. Turbo reliability is still not great no matter what car they are in. Mazda easily is the premium choice with the greatest features for less money. Love my Mazda 3 sedan premium.
Looks like grandma's 1977 station wagon. :( No thanks. I'll stick with the sedan, but will always secretly wish for a full sized two door coupe version. I can't help but wonder what a 2 door Mazda 3 would look like (not a miata).

Europeans love Mazda
I have a 2017 a3 and am thinking about trading for this mazda as a daily commuter
The a3 starts 35k?
@@leebauman223 a 2022 starts AWD starts @$37k. If you want options equivalent to what is on the Mazda 3 AWD Turbo its about $45k
Thats another $10k and they made the new A3 considerably slower than the previous years.
4:39 I would suggest before sign any paper at the dealer take a look on it, when I get mine home it was already scratched and bended.
The Machine Gray Metallic in the sunlight, just brilliant. Only item missing is rear A/C vents.
i hate that as well, some regions have them with makes me mad
Maybe they will get more luxurious in a few years.
The car is for single people. It does have vents in the rear. They're aka as WINDOWS.
@@thinkaboutit6029 I agree this isnt for a family, just for a couple with no kids
Rear seats are basically worthless anyhow 😜
Great review Mike! Honest an I think right on the money when you look at the competition in this price range. Just wish we had a manual!
Excellent review and I’m an owner of the 22 model.
i dont think this is a performance car competitor. however i think it competes directly with the Acura Integra, and Audi A3. great review!

Got pretty much same car shown here hopefully arriving next week. Stoked.
How is it now

My car in three months!
How is it holding?
@@george_mol8822I ended up getting a BMW 😏

Welcome to the Mazda club. I’ve owned them since the 80s….they’re the best. 👍🏻. This will be my next car.
@@73av8r5 thanks👍🏻 I am loving this car!

Ok? So get another color ...
Buckle up before hitting start - there are then no warning chimes.....
Some people want more of a comfortable ride for a daily driver. This car is a great balance of ride quality and performance.
Which color is this
how tall are you?
He like 5’1 or 5’0.
No more like 4’0
Finally an amazing car i look forward to buy.... Oh wait, not available in Europe? Well done Mazda ...
Yeah; that's a shame

I’ve always had Turbo cars and never had any issues with it. What you’re mention was a problem 20 years ago, not anymore .
@@TheSQL-Lover Agree 100%. Similar experience. The OP must be living in the past.
The turbo 3 is objectively better performance than a gti.
The sunny day doesn't let see the car very well
Next time I’ll notify Mother Nature before filming to throw in some clouds
Very impressive on performance, but 2.5 liter NA engine hatchback 6MT needs love.
More horsepower and torque than a GTI and even more torque than a Golf R.
You don't get thrown back in the seat because of the all wheel drive.
Put some bilstein sport shocks on this and u got a speed 3😏
But as the numbers 0-60 tell us this car is faster then a gti. Gti- 5.9 secs. Mazda3- 5.7 secs.
It is a quick car for sure. One of fastest in class.
CX-30 also has a turbo, but made in Mexico :(
that seat seems so tall
I don't see where Mazda position this car in this segment......
Dual clutch? No thanks
