Derek Trucks could not be more authentic, brilliant and bold. Incredible vocals by Susan Tedeschi and just all-time fantastic groove laid down by the Tedeschi Trucks Band. The world is as cruel as it's ever been but this music makes me feel good to be alive. Rock on, Tedeschi Trucks Band!
If ancient redwoods could sing, they would sound like Susan Tedeschi. Eternal and earthy, deep roots soaked and nourished in wisdom. What a voice.
Derek brings the tempest, all chaos and thunder, a ferocious force of nature that would uproot everything in its path if it could. They are perfectly balanced.

Derek is just slaying, as usual. So consistently brilliant. This guy is so inspiring to me... food for the soul.

WOW, JUST WOW! The earthy soulful Susan Tedeschi and the unrestrained rhythmic chaos in the eye of the hurricane that is Derek Trucks. Brilliant, just brilliant.
This the best of ALL the best. Derek Trucks gives a celestial experience in this performance.
The funny thing is this is just a good quality recording.. this is what the band puts out lol. They’re tight!
He did this at Chesapeake blues fest some years ago and broke the bottom string but kept blowing, killin it as that string swayed in the air.

Best guitarist on the planet - in my opinion. Derek is no technician as suggested below. There's heart and soul and integration of so many styles, and flourishing imagination in everything he plays. He is also architect of this bands exhilarating sound.

His style actually has as much Frank Zappa as blues.
Idk about technician (or what context that was said in) but if you see what he’s doing with the knobs on his guitar and virtually(sometimes he has a boost?) no pedal it’s amazing !! Really knows his instrument.
@@jameshayes1840 I love that you said that. I never got too deep into Zappa but that's not to say I don't have immense respect for him as a musician and composer and arranger. And when I think about Derek I'd say he's all those things too. Both are incredibly Imaginative players. Personality wise they seem on the surface very different but deep down they are both voice their opinions in interviews and in their playing from a ver deep place.
Freaking awesome. I am 50 now, listened my entire life dancefloor, house, deephouse, funk, soul and jazz. AND SINCE an hour when I bumped into Tedeschi Trucks Band, I am also into Blues Rock which I found the weirdest music ever!!!!!! Fantastic performance, fantastic songs!!! Love them.
Trucks reminds me of an old jazz trumpet player, searching for that elusive note that may or may not be in that instrument. And if it's not in the instrument, it'll be in those magic fingertips of his.

In two days I get to see them for the first time. Oh, how I hope they play this song!! Of course, I can say that about 100 other songs they do. This will be one of the greatest musical events I've ever been too! With Blackberry Smoke and Shovels & Rope opening, it will awesome!!
I'll be at Rose Saturday. I love all three groups. Imagine there will be a memorable collaboration or two between TTB and BbS. Still seats available for PNC Pavilion at Riverbend tonight but I don't think we want to deal with the forecast heat two nights in a row.

I've seen this Band MANY times and I'm ALWAYS blown away with the musicianship and even their interpretation of covers.
What more can I say.

I just wish Rock hadn't taken such a strange left turn.
I felt the same way and one day I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan back in the Summer of '83.
Then I heard Mr. Trucks.
Derek renewed my musical soul.
I'm lookin forward to the next GREAT ONE.
Anyway, love this Band, love this song.

+chris kozub Derek Trucks is a phenomenal talented and gifted guitarist.
The crazy thing is...he had that tone locked up in his fingers at 13. He is unreal! Pretty sure he could plug any guitar into any amp and if you closed your eyes you'd know within a few notes that you were listening to Derek.
one month, and I will be enlightened with an infusion of #TTB I love Susan's voice/playing and Derek's Guitar work and this song sooo much...Rochester NY, loves TTB, so says I and WEASE!! ;)

Wow I remember when let me get by came out like it was yesterday. The shows that followed were amazing! Same with Signs, still saddened by the loss of Kofi but amazed at the band.. love their “soul sweet song”

I saw TTB for the first time at Mountain Jam ~11 years ago and I've been hooked ever since. I'm already looking forward to this summer's Wheels of Soul tour. I really miss Hunter Mountain before the festival got too large. Go, Derek!

Derek (Butch) Trucks was playing with the Allman Brothers Band when he was 13. He learned from Duane, Dicky, & Warren. It's an apprenticeship on stage/backstage. The man has paid his dues and it is his time to shine.

Susan was probably mad at him because he didn't wash the dishes before the show, or something... :-) : she was rather apathetic during the first part of the solo (~4:50). But then Derek, as usual, turned it to "the force of nature"(c) - even without slide...

Love Mr Trucks Tone and Phrasing. Certainly 1 of the best, ever . But , Hell look who the kid grew up with and how well he played at a young age. I know I'll get flack for saying this But , a certain kid named Joe , was an early protege who has a lot of respect for his playing today. And for my 3rd But , I can't take his guitar tone. There I said it. Could listen to Derek all day , 3 minutes of Joe , I'm done...just my ears . Good day to all !
